I looked at the leaked pokedex for Scarlet and Violet recently and I've been obsessed with the new designs. They're so strange and varied. They manage to range from

a weird onion bird thing:

to *minecraft cave noise*:

and even to this strange creature, funky little guy, incomprehensibly powerful and filled with primal rage:

These damn emo kids and their grim-ass shakes...

You ever just have something happen and think, "Wow. This would make a great piece of heavy-handed symbolism for readers of the memoir I'll never write to roll their eyes at!"

Inktober day 1: gargoyle

I spent entirely too long on this. I'm not very experienced with hatching but I think it turned out ok. (I did give up on the background though)

Some stuff about me:

Hi! I'm an 19-year-old from the midwest who happens to make art sometimes. I specialize in traditional painting and illustration, but I may branch out to digital in the future. I'm usually drawing characters from series I like or original characters, settings, and all manner of fucked-up little creatures. (There are some other types of posts here too, but I made a separate blog for those moving forward so I can keep this one art- focused.)

I'm always looking for ways to improve, so constructive criticism is welcome on any of my posts.

I will try to answer any asks that come through, as long as they aren't too invasive.

favorite word?

Not quite the proper use of the word (apparently it's supposed to refer to meat from a baby pigeon), but I really love the word 'squab' for baby birds because, like

yeah. That's a squab if i've ever seen one.

Like, zoinks Scoob. I'm getting my comeuppance through, not only my agonizing death, but having the same cursed fate I inflicted on others befall me. This is like, a truely karmic twist of fate, the impact of which totally won't be cheapened by future installments...

*scurries up your basement stairs cutely* °w°

Part of why Goomy is my favorite pokemon is that this adorable, dopey little slug can (and will) smite your enemies with fucking meteors summoned down from the cosmos with arcane magic.
