I think the reason I lean so heavily towards Leander (ever since I first played) has to do with the sheer conglomeration of despair and hope that inherent comes with him. His palm is the first we have ever touched, after years of being confined the the raspy bandages we’ve elected to wear for the protection of others. We feel the rough calluses of his palm, the ridges of his fingers. We feel, for once, a heartbeat coming from a wrist rather than a wrenched-open chest.

We finally feel what human connection is supposed to be, rather than the disillusioned, just-out-of-our-reach genre of love we were born into.

And, for whatever reason, it’s just him. He offers it up freely.
