I finally figured out what major I want to study!

Only problem: I graduated 17 years ago

Don’t reinvent the wheel - Except… Reinventing the wheel is absolutely one of the best ways to learn about something. This is what I’ve done for the majority of my personal learning over the past 20+ years. Reinventing the wheel may be a poor choice when you have deadlines and paying customers (maybe not though, everything is situational). But solving for business requirements is different than just learning. When you remake things, you’re testing out your understanding. You get an opportunity to design things how you might want to use them. You gain an appreciation for the effort that goes into big libraries/projects. You get to pick things apart. Learn different ways that you can solve problems. Compare your solutions to other solutions. How small and miserable we are, deluding us that we are large and powerful. We only remain microbes that aspire to control both nature and the entire universe. Who knows if one day we will be able to understand how insignificant we are in the entire space ....
