I live for luffy fanfics
may I please request a Luffy x fem reader (they aren’t together yet) but Luffy has a big crush on the reader without realizing and he’s always super touchy with her without thinking anything of it, like always holding her or picking her up when they’re on adventures and protecting her too all without realizing until the crew makes a comment about it to him, I think it would be super adorable. thank you!
This is going to be more like a poem? I don't know much about poems lmao but I wanted to try this "poetic" style/format of writing. I hope you enjoy.
his arm slung over your shoulders, his warmth pressed to your side. a habit. a thing he does.
he grabs your hand before you even think to reach for his. it’s natural. thoughtless. not a question, just a certainty.
“c’mon,” he grins, tugging you along, lifting you—feet off the ground, body against his, carried as easily as air.
he holds you close when the seas rock too hard. grins wide when you laugh, grins wider when you don’t let go.
his hands, everywhere. your wrist, your waist, the small of your back. not lingering, not hesitant— just there, just his.
a shadow moves too fast in the chaos luffy is faster. his arm snaps out, shielding you before the strike lands.
"stay back," he says. but you don’t. you never do.
your weapon captures the blade meant for him. you call his name when an enemy moves too close. his name, always the first thing on your lips.
your voice, sharp. “get back.” his, just as firm. “you first.”
you watch his back, and he watches yours
but sometimes he's not quick enough. he feels so guilty. he was too late a thick voice cuts through the wreckage
"i follow the chaos and what do you know? it leads straight to you."
zoro, unimpressed. a hand on his sword. "what the hell, luffy? you’re gonna get us killed."
luffy turns shoulders rising, falling. fists still clenched. men groaning as the dust settles. "i wasn't looking for a fight." he mutters
he moves, slightly. just enough.
you, standing just behind him. blood runs down your arm, hair disheveled, a hand over your abdomen and the wince you try to hide. it's painful.
zoro stills, luffy speaks "do you know what they did?" his voice is lower now his hands twitch at his sides, aching to swing again.
"they put their hands on her."
silence. heavy. understanding.
it’s just luffy. luffy, who grins when you hold onto him. who sleeps sprawled across you like you’re part of the ship. who gets louder when you laugh, who goes quiet when you don’t let go.
flames crackle between all of you, embers drift, stars in their own right the crew is full, alive. your face is soft in the flickering light lips curved, gaze steady.
he notices. of course he does. robin notices. of course she does.
"you always seem to find your way back to her."
she tells him, low and knowing luffy tilts his head, blinking thinking.
the warmth in his chest—he’s always felt it. the need to be close, to hold, to protect— it’s instinct, like breathing.
he looks at you. you smile. his chest tightens
oh.
oh.
so that’s what this is.
and what if i drew fem!sanji again???
I can’t get this fic out of my mind. Thank you @mytanuki-kun 🙏🏻😌✨💕

Nami's hug to Luffy when they reunite in Zou makes me wonder how many times the crew has relied on Luffy as an emotional support puppy. No matter what, they all know, Luffy's got them and is ready to cuddle the sh out of them.
has anyone else ever had a fanfic that just... haunts them? like it's been months and maybe even years since you read it, but it just lingers with you and you can never truly leave behind the imprint it made on you? and maybe it's just a single line, one sentence that you can't shake off, that takes up residence in your mind and stays there, feeding into your psyche and subtly influencing your brainspace and maybe even your writing or other works?
I need a fanfic that feels like this edit
