Another option for Shapeshifter!Axl AU:

-Axl and Izzy live together and whenever Izzy has people over Axl will shapeshift into a snake because most people are scared or wary of them and so they leave him alone but then one day this curly haired guitarist comes over and he seems pretty shy so Axl figures he’ll be safe for the evening but then he catches sight of snake-Axl curled up on a bookshelf and the dude fucking lights up and rushes over to him cooing like “Oh my God, who is this?? I didn’t know you had a snake! Aren’t you beautiful, yes you are, let me take a look at you sweetheart” and then he?? fucking tries to pick Axl up???? And yes he’s being soft and sweet but Axl still panics and changes back without even thinking, crashing onto the ground while the other man screams in surprise. And then they’re just staring at each other for like two minutes before Izzy finally wanders over cool as a cucumber like “oh yeah, Slash this is my roommate Axl”

Am I annoying? Yes

Do I give a fuck? Also yes I really am sorry about me all the time

He loves using his powers for drama. 

When he arrives there is always a convenient gust of wind to blow his hair back dramatically; If someone says something serious there will be a sudden crack of lightning, etc. 

He’s got crazy good control of his abilities, to the point where even when he’s drunk he rarely does anything he doesn’t mean to. 

The exceptions tend to be when he’s both drunk AND particularly emotional.
