13. The most epic scene ever
Tokyo Tower
Rin, battling himself, ascends Tokyo Tower, raining terror down on the innocents there. Tamura and Mikuro and Jinpachi and Haruhiko, pleading with him. Alice, finally, understanding everything, understanding that Shion and Mokuren truly loved each other, trying to thaw Shion’s frozen heart. And the revelation of the device Shion was working on in his madness… and Rin’s fall… and Mokuren’s final miracle… as she and Shion find each other and allow all children of Earth to go on with their own lives, not the lives they’ve lived through dreams…
and “thanks,” for saving my earth.
I can’t even talk about this, it would spoil too much. Just know… it’s the most epic scene ever.

why is vld lnc so...ew abt hunk’s stomach issues but in bkg he’s actually considerate/reasonable
i think this does get critiqued sometimes like I think we're supposed to see naruto's enduring loyalty to Sasuke as overall a noble/good thing but in the case of the uchiha massacre the uchiha's disloyalty to the village is used to justify their deaths and Itachi putting the village first is seen as a good thing i.e. loyalty to comrades is only good when they are loyal to the state which is deeply disturbing
I think it’s interesting how Shikamaru is basically saying that Sasuke is worth risking their lives for because he is a shinobi from the hidden leaf and therefore a comrade, instead of it being because he’s a kid who’s essentially being abducted by an incredibly dangerous enemy. He’s not a comrade in the sense of being someone he knows in a dangerous situation, but in the sense of being loyal to the hidden leaf, implying that once he fully cuts those ties to the village he will no longer be worthy of help/protection, which is exactly how he gets treated by Shikamaru and most of the Konoha 11 when he becomes a rogue ninja. Even the core ideas of loyalty and protecting one another are wrapped up in the nationalism of the show.
people love ignoring canon to a brainrotting degree until you ask them why they don’t give any attention to female/poc characters then they start crying and sobbing about how canon doesn’t give them anything to work with
As the year comes to a close, I just want to highlight all the people that wanted to create this year, but couldn't.
Whether that be due to burn out, lack of inspiration, or simply just not having the time; it's okay. It's hard to center what brings you joy during unprecedented times and these last few years have showed us that plenty.
Just keep chugging along, you're doing fine and we can't wait to see what you've been working on <3
What's that bro? You began interacting with a media from a different country than yours and/or was made in time period different than the recent present day? Haha that's sick bro! Keep expanding your horizons bro! You're remembering to take into account that sociocultural norms, gender roles and genre expectations are different from what you are used to and meeting the story halfway, instead of forcibly superimposing your ideals into the story, right bro? Right? Right?
in other news, i designed bikinis up to a 5xl (~:

lot of people take the idea they might be an oppressor like it's some kind of curse or marks them or makes them fundamentally irredeemable.
this means whenever someone suggests they might have structural power over some group, rather than being normal about it and going "oh yeah i should be mindful of how i act so i don't abuse that," they take it as a personal attack, and either jump to defending themselves by denying it, or start lashing out.
this makes 99.99999% of all conversations on this website completely fucking unbearable.
