Summary : Its the last day of the baking course , and everything is seeming to slow down a little . your surroundings are clearer and the details are in high definition , and you drift into the features of your course instructor , Do Kyungsoo , and his plump pink lips .

up and down , they went , shaping to form sounds wet and shiny , they looked , aching your heart to have a taste . he was talking again about the cake and the hour seemed to get slower and the screams of kids dimmer as your eyes only focused on his lips . occasionally youd look in his eyes that had an undeniable gleam , with his eyebrows furrowed frustrated at his own lose of words, this was one of his favourite things to talk about . baking

upper body leaning on the counter cutting the distance between you both short , you cut a piece of your own cake slowly moving the fork to his mouth , he slowly chewed moving them again and again and again each time you gave him a relatively bigger bite than the one before until you’d noticed the icing covering the corner of his bottom lip , youd been staring for a while now grabbing his attention , “ i feel like the icing is unevenly distributed ” he said watching over your eyes , “but tastes great” he resumed smiling not bothering to clean his lips up he slowly moved his thumb across his bottom lip finishing the journey by the corner swiping the sugary creme and resting his thumb on his bottom lip as he sucked on it , you could feel his gaze but your utmost attention was diverted on his now glistening lips . you closed your eyes for longer than a blink yet short enough to still find his focused eyes on you , your eyes drifted down to his neck detailed by networks of visible veins lower your sight noticed the hem of his tshirt lower than usual viewing his  collarbones “ chief soo ” a voice cutting both of your thoughts chimed in “ they keep throwing flour at each other ” said the apparently much younger girl with white powder clear in her pitch black hair he cleared his throat asking her for a minute before hed follow her to the second section of the kitchen “ I’ll be back” he said to you adjusting his apron moving away from the counter , you exhaled a breath thats been fermenting within   you feeling in your surroundings once again with a decreasing blood rate resting your elbows on the counter running your fingertips through your hair feeling your hot scalp.

this course was taken just for the fun of it , you werent expecting a 20 something year old chief teaching those who are interested in baking from ages 10 and up , more like you were either expecting a martha stewart or an annoying old know it all baker who claims to have baked for Marie Antoinette herself , but instead you got Do Kyungsoo a self taught baker well not really he’d add that he always loved watching his mom bake and look up videos of french titled bread making tutorials , short of money full of passion he stood there trying his hardest teaching this wide range of ages from clumps of preteen girls to grandmothers , you were the only one close to his age and the only one actually interested in this . he found comfort having you come up next to him by the counter and whisk the eggs helping him sprinkle the flour on the counter for the dough not to stick on the marble rectangle.  with a smile hed always taste everyones work spending extra time pointing out the visible faults smelling in the aroma of freshly baked bread he would know exactly what its missing , “its very visible come on” hed argue with the 55 year old woman , “ ive lost my sense of smell years ago son” shed reply earning a sorry and a hand grip from him .

it was just you and him today and the preteens whose parents were already entering the kitchen one after the other dragging their kids by the arm after theyve sincerely apologised for what theyve done , you chuckled at the scene as he stood at the door waving them goodbye , small with a little bow apron hugging his torso softly pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose he hurried to you ,

“sorry” he said standing before you eyes staring into your own, “ never gonna see them again though so thats a happy note” he remarked smiling “school?” you asked , he nodded

a silent moment passed as you both cleaned up the messed working area , he cleaning the floors and you clearing the counters and washing up the equipment , it wasnt painfully silent just the sound of running water being the only sound decorating the silence  ,

“ so this is it ” he said seemingly pained followed by a heavy exhale as he took off his apron placing it on the hanger by the door “ it was a really fun experience ” you replied involuntary placing the last whisk in the drawer after drying it with a towel , “ i still cant smell the ingredients though” he laughed softly making you pause a little hearing it for possibly the last time for ever or a while , “ but I like baking now , and for that thank you kyungsoo” his name slipped out of your mouth without any formal titles you clenched on the towel in your hand still not looking in his direction yet you could tell he was nearing you as the sound of his shoes got closer , close enough your surroundings darkened and the traces of flour , vanilla and a hint of tobacco were all smelled . “ I will miss you ” he said not too loud low enough to be mistaken for a self note , you saw his hand reach up to your chin a thumb pushing it upwards forcing you to face him your breath caught in your throat as he leaned in , “ I owe you this ” he closed the distance between you , soft and sweet tasting like the cake you baked his lips tasted like the flavours you loved most , you kissed back letting the towel fall into the ground freeing your hands to hold the back of his head as his forearms wrapped around your waist , it felt even better than the times your imagination would drift as you watched him taste the tarts, pies and cakes of others , you broke the kiss reaching for air panting earning yet one more soft chuckle of his “ I like you" he said ever so softly resting his forehead against yours

But yet BW are demonized for black feminism, which is the only thing protecting BW.

don’t be scared to live lovingly. compliment your friends on the little things and cheer for live bands in small cafes and leave tips when you can. tell the person you saw that you really like their shirt and write cards and letters to the people you love. make playlists for people and don’t be afraid to express your appreciation for others. life is so much better when you live it with love.
