Welcome to the chaos, a.k.a my desk, the day before an exam!
Well at least, my papers are still in organised piles. Can't guarantee it will stay that way... đ
these are so calming
Source.
does anyone feel overwhelming emotions seeing pictures of their younger self? like thatâs me but it isnât... I love her I wish she knew... I hope sheâs proud of me.... I miss her
(image credit) due to 8tracksâ limited availability to the US and Canada, iâve had to make the switch from 8tracks to Spotify and i could not have regret it in the slightest. thus, iâd like to share with you the greatest benefits iâve come across during this exam season ~ enjoy!
the theory of everything soundtrack: lifechanging. this is omnipotent for any subject, for any situation - complete with instrumentals for any mood. +check out âcambridge, 1963âł, ârowingâ and âthe weddingâ.
kill your darlings soundtrack: much like the âtheory of everythingâ soundtrack, it is so reminiscent of soothing and motivational atmospheres. throws you into a world of romanticised poets of the 1940â˛s. +check out âtypingâ and âplan on a boatâ.
500 days of summer soundtrack: for something indie, calming and motivating at the same time. throws you into an indie romance and tbh, youâre gonna love it. +check out âplease please please let me get what i wantâ, âsweet dispositionâ, âquelquâun ma ditâ and âheroâ.
all the little lights, passenger: if iâm going to suggest an artistâs ENTIRE album to you to study from, this has to conquer them all. his indie pop/folk compositions perfectly accompany any revision session. +see bastille, kodaline and the neighbourhood for similar.
relive harry potter! : complete soundtrack for all 8 movies of the franchise. didnât want it? too late, youâve got it.
studio ghibli collection: the magic that is joe hisashi and hayao miyazaki, complete in one playlist for all your focus/relaxing needs.
8.5hrs of disney: 175 of the most timeless tracks from the animation industry of our childhood.
spotifyâs intense studying #classical collection: i havenât yet tried this one however iâm going to, especially with over 14hrs of listening time.
sensuality: i found this just the other day however itâs a beautiful collection of bass-heavy, strong-beat, simple melody pieces.
my own revision essentials playlist: this works without fail for myself, perhaps it can offer you something too - however do make your own and collate some tracks which are 100% no fail for you!
and finally, your discover weekly playlist: iâve linked mine, however spotify creates this playlist for you on a weekly basis, publishing every monday to provide music recommendations. i cannot emphasize how incredible this service is and the amount of music iâve discovered is phenomenal!
youâve gotten a bad grade. the assignment you turned in was not as good as you expected. the exam just went awful. we all know the feeling when this happens. but iâm here to help you!! donât stress my friend everything will be okay
first of all: itâs okay!!!!!! everybody fails sometimes! i know it feels awful because you worked your ass off and now this happens. whatâs important is that you donât give up. academic success is not everything, so donât beat yourself up too much. (also like thereâs so much wrong with this system, but thatâs a topic for another time)
give yourself some time to be sad, angry, frustrated, etc. talk to someone or journal your thoughts down and just get everything out. (it would be best to talk someone who isnât in the same situation, so instead of maybe making your classmate uncomfortable, talk to somebody who will listen and give emotional support)
nobody excepts you to go right back to studying. in fact it would be better to get your mind off of things and distract yourself a bit. do something you love and relax a little.
but! donât forget to pick yourself up again and take the next step:
put your âfailingâ into perspective. how bad is it really? is it the end of the world (no it isnât). do you only think itâs a bad grade because you keep comparing yourself to your classmates?
donât!!!!! compare!!!! yourself to others!!! focus on yourself. you donât know all the other things your classmates may struggle with and your academic performance does not determine your self-worth. so what you didnât do that good? there are so many other great things about you, believe me mwah
what was the cause you didnât do as well you expected?
did you study the wrong things? or did you study them the wrong way? were the concepts just way to complicated and you didnât understand them?
did you panic while taking the exam?
didnât pay attention in class?
did you not start early enough?
is your teacher just awful
whatever the reason try to identify it and find a solution. try to apply it the next time. but remember that there is not always a cause, sometimes things are just like they are. if that seems to be the case, just remember that itâs probably not your fault and try to continue doing your best.
ha you thought you have to figure out the solution all by yourself. but iâm here to (hopefully) help you.
donât be afraid to talk to your teacher/prof! most of the time they want to see you succeed, so maybe there is something you could do to improve the grade or you could try to tackle the issue you have/had.
find a study method that suits you and make it a routine. thereâre so many helpful posts on here (just search up âstudy tipsâ) so there is to 100% something that works for you.
study schedule? some people do better with one, some donât. with one, you can exactly plan out when and what to study for the upcoming tests, so youâll be able to improve your grade. also, try to plan in when youâre going to revise hard topics again or the ones you didnât understand if there were any.
do your homework and assignments! they help so much with improving your grade and the teacher/prof sees that youâre willing to make an effort.
join a study group or visit a tutor. they are a great way to find help and make you remember that youâre not alone and that thereâs a solution to everything.
be a pro at exam taking. iâll maybe do a separate post on that because there is so much i could say, but the most important thing is: be positive. give yourself a pep talk and donât stress. you got this.
okay, thatâs everything i have to say! i hope i could help u a bit <3 remember: you got this!!
To all of those struggle to start a studyblr, I hope this small guide could help you in some ways. I knew that I struggled a lot at the starting point such as choosing themes, adjusting html, creating my contents and reaching to more people.Â
The only tip I can see is just letting yourself out there and showing your creative and helpful work to your community. Wish you all good luck!

ooo more ap physics notes. ap calc review has started⌠it hasnât been bad Iâm just worried once Iâm on my own I wonât be able to do it. also Iâve started to do these in rainbow order (the yellow didnât show up so I went to green)
21.10.2020
some notes i took for bio earlier this week
although a lot of people enjoy decorating their notes, i find that i often donât have the time or energy to do that even if i would like to. itâs okay if your notes donât have fancy headers or pretty drawings. if your notes are effective, then they are good notes :)
1. Take a clipboard to school. You have to be prepared to do homework ANYWHERE at ANYTIME. Carry it in your hand with some paper and your homework clipped onto it and get work done whenever you can. Donât keep the clipboard in your bag.
2. USE YOUR PLANNER EVERY DAY. Keeping track of assignments and important dates helps clear your mind. You donât have to worry about remembering everything because all of it is written down. If you have a lot going on at once, start a bullet journal. If you can, divide your planner into sections based on different activities. For example, my bullet journal has 4 major sections: school work, extracurricular activities, community service, and general life issues. This creates order in the midst of chaos and also enforces the idea of taking everything one at a time. Your planner shouldnât overwhelm you.
3. Get the biggest calendar you can find and hang it on the wall. The purpose of the calendar is to allow you to establish a general time frame for everything you need to do. PLAN AHEAD. Make sure EVERYTHING is on that calendar. Being overwhelmed by your planner is bad because it leads to a stressful day; your calendar takes on the role of allowing you to see the big picture. Having everything written down on a calendar creates a sense of urgency thatâll decrease the likelihood or duration of procrastination.
4. If youâre taking multiple AP classes, dedicate at least one day of the week to each subject. I had 7 APâs so I studied a different subject each day. For example, every Monday was Macroeconomics day. I took my econ review book to school on Mondays and studied whenever I had some extra time. Start doing this 3 or 4 months before the exams in May to avoid cramming and excessive stress.
5. Sleep whenever you can but avoid sleeping on the way home from school. If you enter your home feeling sleepy the bed is going to be extra enticing.
6. If you NEED to pull an all-nighter (try to avoid them), drink a cup of straight up black coffee (no sugar) and take a 20 minute nap. It takes some time for the caffeine to kick in so you might as well get some sleep. Youâll eventually get used to the bitterness.
7. Sometimes you need to skip school but donât skip unless you absolutely have to. If you do, you better not sleep in! Wake up normally and get to work ASAP. Do the makeup work and turn it in the next day, even if you donât have to.
8. Study smarter, not harder. Figure out which study methods work for you. Note-taking is time-consuming so try to find alternatives. You donât have to make everything aesthetically pleasing to post it on tumblr. In fact, if youâre compelled to take pretty notes just to post it on tumblr, LEAVE NOW. DO NOT WASTE TIME.
9. Do homework for the learning experience instead of the grade. Donât copy work from your friends. If you use homework as a study resource, you wonât have to worry about long review sessions before a test. I have never studied for a Spanish test but the lowest score Iâve ever gotten on one is a 93. How? I did my homework. Â
10. STOP TRYING TO BE PERFECT. STOP IT RIGHT NOW. Perfection = waste of time. Donât spend 10 hours writing an essay if you know you can get the same grade by only spending 2. I used to believe that the most important thing was being proud of everything you put your name on but none of that matters when you havenât slept in 48 hours.
11. Complete the difficult tasks first. One of the many reasons people procrastinate is to avoid difficult tasks. If you save the hardest assignment for last, youâre more vulnerable to wasting time.
12. This one is very bad because it involves lying but it saved my grade a couple of times: ALWAYS turn in your homework. Why? Rarely missing an assignment gives you a good reputation and teachers tend to trust hardworking students. If you ever forget to do an assignment and youâre known to be a good student, your teacher is more likely to believe your excuse. Or, if you really left it at home, he/she/they might give you an extra day.
13. GOOGLE DRIVE IS YOUR BEST FRIEND. Canât turn in your essay because you told yourself youâd print it in the morning and forgot? No worries! Itâs in google drive! Need a past assignment for reference but have the copy at home? No worries! Itâs in google drive!
14. Your study space significantly impacts productivity. Organize your room/space to maximize concentration/productivity.
15. MOST IMPORTANTLY, give yourself some time off. If you donât, youâll eventually burn out and nothing will be able to motivate you again. I like to go watch a movie alone once in a while because it clears my mind for 2 hours. Being constantly bombarded with due dates can lead to massive anxiety issues. And guess what? You canât get anything done if youâre having multiple panic attacks or if youâre in bed all day because youâre depressed. Take care of yourself. School can wait but your physical and mental health canât.
do ya future self a favor and work hard now
