Dick wasn’t expecting to get a call on patrol, especially not since it’s midnight, and he hasn’t been to Gotham in weeks. None of his siblings normally call this late unless it’s been just a few days since they saw each other. They’re odd, but they tend to call less and less the longer it’s been since they saw each other. He always figured it was a way to distance themselves from their feelings, but he has no way of knowing that. He looks down to see the contact name Robin on the screen of his work phone.
“Hey, bud, what’s going on? I’m a little busy, so I would appreciate it if you could make it short.”
“I’m sorry if I’m interrupting something,” Damian replies, his voice tight.
“Just patrol, but I’m coming up on a robbery.”
“I need your help.” Damian pauses just long enough for Dick to wonder if he’s going to continue.
“Is everything ok? Why don’t you call someone closer?”
“Unfortunately I already tried. No one is answering. I tried calling Father, Hood, Orphan, and Oracle. I don’t know what’s going on, but something happened. I tried to comm them first, then I tried their work phones, then their personal phones. I figured at least Oracle would have answered since she keeps her work phone and personal phone on her person. I thought Hood might have been at home.”
Damian sounds out of breath, but Dick doesn’t try to rush him. He’s obviously going through the details in his mind.
“Anyway, I don’t know where they are, or why they’re not answering. I just need someone to come pick Red and me up so we can look for them.”
Ok, well at least I know that Tim is with him. I was wondering why he didn’t mention him.
“Ok, what’s the situation?”
“We were checking out a drug deal that was supposed to be going down right outside of Hood’s territory. He asked us to, which was odd, but he said it in person. So, it was definitely him, and so we came down here early tonight to stake the place out. It was an ambush of some sort. I’m not sure if they’re still here, but Red is down. We’re in an abandoned building, but I’m not sure where.”
“Are you alright, Robin?”
“I’m alive.”
“Really? I didn’t notice.” Dick swings down, knocking out the first robber immediately. “Can you tell me both of your conditions?”
“Red was hit in the head, and he hasn’t woken up since then. I think he might have broken his wrist too since it’s swelling.”
Dick finishes typing up the robbers, and tips the phone down away from his mouth. “Call the police,” he says to the cashier of the store. “Ok, Robin, tell me about you.”
“I can’t hear anyone.”
“What?”
“I can’t hear any enemies.”
“Robin, I know you’re injured, and I’m on my way. I’m tracking your phone right now, but I need to know how ok you are.”
“I’m not well. I’m bleeding.”
“Why?” Dick asks.
“Do you think one of Red’s lighters would get a knife hot enough to cauterize a wound?” Damian asks.
“What the hell, Robin? What is going on? Also, don’t you dare do anything rash.”
“I’m not doing anything rash. The bullet fractured, so I’ve been pulling pieces out this entire conversation. I’ve lost a lot of blood in the process, and I need to cauterize the wound before I pass out. I don’t think that’s rash at all. I don’t have anything to get my knife hotter than this lighter would, and I think it’ll be fine. I wonder why he even has a lighter on him. He doesn’t smoke. I’ll make sure that my location stays on, but I’m going to get off the phone for this part.”
“Don’t hang up on me.”
Damian hangs up anyway, and Dick only moves faster. Damian calls him back fifteen minutes later, and Dick answers immediately.
“Hey, what took you so long?”
“I tried contacting the others again, still nothing. I was too tired to do anything else.”
“Ok, well, try to stay awake. Are you bleeding anymore?”
“No, I’m not.”
“Any signs of life from Red?”
“Nothing, but he is not dead yet.”
“I’m almost there, less than five minutes out.”
“Oh, that’s good. Do you hear or see anyone?”
“No, I don’t. Do you know who actually attacked you?”
“Yes, it was Hood’s men. I’d met a few of them before. They were talking about how we were ruining something. I assume they gave Hood false information that led to us getting false information. I’m not sure what we were ruining that caused us to need to be murdered, but you should be careful.”
“Oh, Jason is going to have a field day about this.”
Damian hums, sounding sleepier than he did earlier.
“Ok, Baby Bat, I’ll be there in one minute.”
The building comes into view. Dick is barely in the door when there’s an explosion and the whole building shakes. The blast throws Dick backwards, and he blacks out.
Jason is falling asleep pressed against Bruce’s side as they watch movies. Bruce had asked him to spend one on one time together, and he had almost said no, but then he decided to bite the bullet and go. Bruce even made sure that everything was taken care of with work that night.
Jason is suddenly woken up by both his and Bruce’s phones repeatedly going off. Bruce perks up too, and grabs his phone. He offers Jason his, and Jason takes it. He’s suddenly getting missed call notifications. All of them are from Damian, or Tim’s phones. There’s only one from Tim, but since they were together, he’s not really sure what that’s about.
“Did you get-?” Jason trails off, seeing the same notifications on Bruce’s phone.
Then Bruce’s phone starts actually ringing. “Barbara, what’s going on?” He asks, putting the phone on speaker.
“Reception’s been out for a good bit of Gotham tonight, but I just got mine back. I have a bunch of missed calls from Damian. Do you know where he was supposed to be tonight? Wait, guys, there was an explosion in town.” She reads the address, and Jason’s eyes widen.
“That’s only a block from where Damian and Tim were supposed to be tonight.”
“What?”
“Yeah, that’s why Steph and Cass were handling normal patrol, because those two agreed to handle a drug deal that was going down near there.”
“We have to get out there.”
They’re in the cave by the time Steph comes over the comms.
“Hey, I’m so glad you guys are back. We’ve been absolutely swamped. I don’t know why, but we have had so many people attack us.”
“Are you near the bomb site?” Bruce asks, immediately all business.
“We’re making our way there, but it happened at least twenty minutes ago. I don’t think first responders are there yet, but we’ve been attacked by literally every person that’s seen us. We’re two minutes out though. Do you guys know where Robin and Red are? We still haven’t gotten an answer from them since we were able to use the comms again.”
“We think they might have been near the bomb site, but we haven’t heard from them either.”
Jason tucks his guns into their holsters, and heads to the Batmobile. Bruce joins him after a few seconds, and they set off towards the building. Cass is on the other side of the street from the actual building, kneeling over something. Stephanie is barely visible as she climbs through the doorway. Jason is out before the car even fully stops.
“Orphan, what’s going on over there?” he calls as he walks to the building.
“Nightwing. He was outside of the building, and hit with the shockwave. He seems to be alright though.”
“Why was he here?” Stephanie asks, her voice coming through the open doorway.
“We think Robin and Red were calling for help. They couldn’t reach any of us, but if they were in a part of town that had reception, they might have called Nightwing,” Bruce says, striding over to Cass.
Jason climbs into the groaning building. The first floor is entirely trashed, and looks like it’s about to fall apart at any moment.
“I surveyed this place from above, and there seemed to be bombs that went off on the first, third, and fifth floors,” Stephanie says as she makes eye contact with Jason.
Jason sighs. “Ok, well, let’s start searching, just be as careful as you can. You don’t want to get hurt, or make their situation worse, ok?”
Stephanie nods. She sets off towards the next floor while Jason starts searching through this one for any sign of their brothers. It takes a few hours to search the first two broken floors safely, but there still isn’t any sign of Damian and Tim. So, Stephanie, Bruce, and Jason convene on the top floor, which is in just as bad shape as the other ones. Jason heads to the left corner while Stephanie heads to the farthest corner, because she weighs the least.
It’s only a few minutes later that she says, “I think I found something.” Bruce and Jason both turn to her. “Yeah, they’re over here.”
She pulls rubble off of Damian, who is on top of Tim. She checks Damian for spinal injuries before she picks him up, and offers him to Jason, then steps back so Bruce can grab Tim. Bruce does a quick check for spinal injuries before gently picking Tim up.
“We have to get them to a hospital,” Jason says, his eyes tracing the burns along Damian’s face, neck, and bare skin near his right hand and wrist. It looks like he lost one of his gloves somewhere.
“Go ahead and get them out of here. I’ll finish checking for civilians,” Stephanie says, and Jason wastes no more time leaving.
They end up just heading back to the cave, and surrendering Tim and Damian over to Leslie and Alfred. Then they wait in silence for a few hours before Alfred walks over.
“They’re both stable. Master Wayne, come with me. I’ll explain their conditions to you while Jason goes to check on them.”
Jason nods, and goes into the infirmary. Tim and Damian are on beds next to each other, both with oxygen masks, and bandaged up. Dick is sitting in between them, his eyes drooping.
“Hey, are you ok?” Jason asks, pulling a chair up, and sitting across from Dick.
“Yeah, I’m fine. I just feel bad that it took so long to get to them. They might not have been in there. Damian was calling me for help with an extraction.”
Jason hums, leaning back.
“You did everything you could.”
“Yeah, but my best or not, it still wasn’t enough. They wouldn’t be like this if it was.”
BRAZIL MIKU!!!!!!! i love her design... im so sad i didnt get to finish her before braziltwitt had to leave.... i love you my friends i will find you in the next world

Jason in the League getting a babysitting duty w baby Damian and so he just does what he thinks parents normally do. So he goes ahead and teach the kid, 'Mama' so that Talia can be idk hapy about it. He just figures Talia would want Mama to be her son;s first word. probably.
But now the thing is, Baby damian attaches Mama with Jason.
So now you have this 6 foot tall hunk of a babysitter bodyguard who is addressed to as Mama by the Prince. and Jason is just stumped cos he doesnt know how to fix it.
When Damian grows up eventually he just calls Talia 'Mother', but Jason is still98% of the time Mama. It just stuck and he never quite figured out how to undo it.
-
Flashforward, after becoming robin, and gaining some conciousness in general Damian started calling Jason 'Todd' (or whatever honestly idgaf), but the word Mama still slips out sometimes when Damian is like really pissed off and screaming "WHY DID YOU HOLD ME BACK MAM- TODD", or super not paying attention- "uhm, idk ask mama. hm? Todd. ask todd. thats what i said.", or like drugged when hurt, "ma, wheres mama..."

Finally watched the Addams Family Values recently! and honestly. my main takeaway is
Debbie slays. And Joan Cusack is a QUEEN
What about Batfam x male reader where the reader was actually the first child Bruce adopted and he was the practice child. He hated growing io because Bruce had really no idea what to do and then the other kids came along and now Bruce kinda understood what to do. He hates family time because he never felt like family, he was just some doll the others could practice on so later they wouldn't make mistakes. And i imagine at some point they snap. I feel like what if Damian brought over Jon for dinner and Jon was like "oh I thought Dick's the oldest, you never told me about (reader)" and reader just slams down their fist and goes to their room. At this point the rest of the family try to comfort them but the reader only screams about how they never were a son or bother, they were only a practice doll for them to use and then throw away
This has angst written all over it... Ah. Angst train it seems... Also, I think I changed the end a bit, but that's fine...
Summary: (Y/N) was nothing but a test child for Bruce. He finally lets them have it
Warnings: angst, resentment, author sucks at angst, but hey, I tried, yelling, mentions of anxiety, the fam is trying, (Y/N) is mad beyond belief, implications of child neglect... If you can call it child neglect.
(Y/N) (L/N) was the oldest member of the Wayne family and the first child that Bruce had adopted. (Y/N) didn't have a good life at all before he met Bruce. (Y/N) could also argue that Bruce didn't treat him well as well, since being emotionally unavailable is not a good trait to have when you have children.
As the years went by, he hated growing up in the manor and with Bruce. He had food, a roof over his head and some sort of education. But that wasn't enough. The feeling of resentment that (Y/N) had has only grown as the years went by.
The feeling of being a test to Bruce, to see what he need to improve made his blood boil. He was a test pancake for Bruce and some sort of feedback to Bruce. It made (Y/N) mad beyond. Bruce could have gotten his shit straight when he started to have him as his legal child.
(Y/N) wished that he could forget everything about Bruce. About the family too. Even before Dick came, resentment building up in him nearly exploded. Looking back, he should have exploded on Bruce and Dick... Maybe even punch them. Maybe he should have done it.
When Dick came, (Y/N) saw signs that Bruce was improving, but he didn't show that to (Y/N). Years went by and Damian came. To say that Damian pretended that (Y/N) didn't exist is an understatement. (Y/N) tried to get closer to Damian, but Damian always pushed him away. (Y/N) took the signs and gave up, sadness and anger boiling inside of him. But he did observe Damian and Dick. In matter of a few days, they were close.
Dick did it without even trying.
So, (Y/N) has decided to alienate himself from the family, at least until he gets enough money to leave. Thankfully, the resentment towards Bruce and the rest of the family made him even put everything he had in school, even though no one cared about it. He had straight As and he was on his way to go to college that was far away from here. He knows that he can do it.
Even as Tim and Jason came, (Y/N) tried to be close to them, but none of them cared. None. (Y/N)'s solace became his own room and would avoid the family at all costs until it was time to eat where he had to step out. That only solidified the fact that he was going to leave as soon as possible.
Either way, he just had to alienate himself and move out. Then, everyone in the house would be happy.
However, everything would turn on its head when Damian would bring his boyfriend Jon over to meet the family and by default (Y/N). If only (Y/N) knew what would happen.
Dinner rolled around and came down to eat. He didn't expect to see Jon, but was nice to introduce himself to Jon, trying to be nice and just get this stupid dinner over with. He put some food on his plate and just ate in silence while everyone else talked.
He listened to bits and pieces and just stayed silent. He finished his plate quickly and pushed it away and sipped at his water, just being polite and getting ready to leave back at his room.
" Damian, you didn't tell me anything about (Y/N)... I thought that Dick was oldest of the brothers. " Jon said and (Y/N) froze.
Damian didn't tell Jon about him...
(Y/N)'s anger boiled over and he slammed his fist into the table before standing up quickly, knocking the chair over. Everyone got startled at the actions and watched in silence as (Y/N) left the dining room.
After a few seconds they all jumped into action, trying to stop (Y/N) to comfort him. (Y/N) slammed the door of his room shut, locking to make sure no one could enter, before he broke down on his bed. He hugged his pillow and sobbed into it.
It shouldn't hurt like this. He should have been stronger than this. Not cry over them.
" (Y/N), please open the door. " Bruce said through the door.
" Please, we just want to talk. " Dick added and (Y/N) snapped at that, anger boiling over once again.
" Talk?! TALK?! Stop acting like you care! " (Y/N) yelled at the top of his lungs.
" We do care. " Jason started.
" You don't give a single flying damn about me! I was never a son or a brother to anyone! I was only a test toy to Bruce so he could see what he could fucking improve! I was never a fucking brother either! Damian fucking proved it! " (Y/N) yelled at the top of his lungs, tears streaming down his face.
Everyone stayed silent and (Y/N) sobbed his heart out. Damian swallowed hardly, realizing what he did and how that hurt (Y/N) deeply. Maybe he shouldn't have...
Everyone glanced at each other. They stayed silent as they listened to (Y/N)'s sobs. Just how much pain did they brought up onto him?
" (Y/N), look- " Bruce started and (Y/N) screamed again.
" Don't you dare care right now! I'm moving out in a few days anyway and I don't need your pity or apology! " (Y/N) yelled, trying to wipe the never ending stream of tears.
" Moving out?! " Bruce yelled, eyes wide in shock. He know he has no right to tell (Y/N) what to do, but something flared up in Bruce. " No, you're not moving out! You are going to stay put because we have to solve this problem! "
" Are you shitting me Bruce?! Work things out?! "
" I'm not shitting you! I have to make things right with you! You are my son too! " Bruce yelled through the door.
" I don't give a single damn about any of you! "
Bruce took a deep breath, trying not to explode. He knows he has no right to be angry, but (Y/N) was still his son. " (Y/N), I am your dad and we will solve this problem. "
" We won't solves shit Bruce! "
" (Y/N), please, " Tim started, but (Y/N) cut him off. " Shut up Tim! "
Tim bit the inside of his cheek and stepped back.
" (Y/N), " Jason started, " You need to calm down, you'll give yourself a heart attack. "
(Y/N) wanted to scream even more, but he felt like he was going to die from this situation.
" Shut up, all of you! "
Now Dick started. " (Y/N), we may have been bad brothers- "
" May have?! You were- No, you are the worst brothers! " (Y/N) yelled and clenched his fists as he started facing around the room.
Dick sighed and stepped back. At the moment, everyone knew that (Y/N) talking to them without yelling at them and more importantly, he needed to calm down first.
But with how much anger and resentment there is, it is going to take a while.
" Lets leave (Y/N) alone for a while. He needs to be alone for now. " Bruce said and gently moved everyone away from (Y/N)'s doors, who was inside, trying to breathe more normally. He felt like he was going to jump out of his skin in the next few moments. He calmed down after a while, but he was still anxious beyond belief.
Unfortunately, the threat of moving out is just a threat and not a promise. (Y/N) sighed as he sat down on his bed. It was a stupid move to say that while he didn't have everything secure yet. Stupid.
(Y/N) went to the bathroom and washed his face and drank some water, to soothe his soon to be sore throat. It won't be nice to talk in a few hours.
Either way, it's better than leaving this room in order to face his siblings and dad. No, they are just roommates here, until (Y/N) can move out and just finally cut them out of his life.
