cannot stress enough how jimmy/saul and gus act almost like narrative foils, from their losing their business/romantic partners to the enormity of the personas they created in response to these losses, from saul’s extravagant mansion vs gus’s bare “home” to saul’s hypersexuality vs gus’s celibacy. the treatment they endure in their respective communities. also, these memey character portraits that actually mirror each other.
