How to write IB essays:
As told by my economics teacher when he was telling us how to write our IAs and told is that it would be good for any subject with essay questions.
Evaluate: Evaluations give grades 6-7, with 450 words on it
Apply: Applying knowledge gives levels 4-5, here we should give explanations and if there are any diagrams explain that as well, with 250 words on it
Knowledge: This gives grades 1-3, here we should write down definitions and background information, with a word count of 150 words.
Intro: State and explain the dilemma, justify its importance, and use minor citations.
Body: Here we should show off our knowledge, using definitions, diagrams with explanations of any, basically used to analyse the situation. This analysis is then used to evaluate.
Note: it is useful to underline or highlight important keywords or statements in the assignment or exam paper, it shows where all the work is done and also leaves a good impression on the examiner.
ironic how a post reading "how to apologise to someone you have hurt deeply" was right about a drawing of aziraphale and crowley tbh
Day 6/20, 26th September, 2023 – Tuesday
Alright! So again, I had class (it's three hours long and I live a bit far off, so I have to leave immediately after reaching home), and so I couldn't do much once I was home (it becomes super tiring, especially since I was attending the class online for a bit and my rythm was broken). However! I did learn quite a bit in class – we were supposed to have Botany and Chemistry, but our Botany teacher was sick, so we had Zoology and Chemistry instead. Our teacher finished off muscle contractions and then we moved on to doing the skeletal system! Which, in my opinion, was super cool and interesting because we started with the axial skeleton (which comprises of the skull, ribcage, and spinal cord). We finished the parts of the cranium (it has a total of 8 bones if anyone was wondering btw). And in Chemistry we sort of wrapped up our thermodynamics chapter, which was nice too. However, I'd missed a class last week due to my UT1's, so I wasn't able to understand everything that was going on. Either way, another day that wasn't a total waste, which is a good thing in my books.
A Productivity Challenge
The reason I've decided to redo my previous one is because I'd been super drained and burnt out the last three days, and hence unable to accomplish as much as I wanted to. So, in order to start September off right, I'm going to begin a two week long challenge for myself starting today, the 31st of August. I plan on updating every night or every morning, depending on when I feel like it.
For reference; this is my schedule currently:
Well, I'll see you tonight. To anyone reading this, please wish me luck; and good luck to you in your own endeavours as well!
Day 6/14, 5th September, 2023 – Tuesday
I cannot, for the life of me, remember what I did on Tuesday. I should probably start posting these on the same day, shouldn't I?
Day 10/20, 30th September, 2023 – Saturday
Hello! So today wasn't the best, but I did do work, so it counts for something, right? I think it does. Either way. I did projectile motion, since that's what will be coming on my physics test on Tuesday. On a non-academic note, my family and I have come to a meditation retreat/resort for the weekend. So far it's really nice!! It's a huge property and they have this really big and nice garden that we walked through. And I love riding on the golf carts, those are so fun.
September is here. Meaning that you should to start fresh. So change those bed sheets. Switch out that old toothbrush. Get your hoodies and sweaters out. Prepare for a better you. With new goals. And a healthier mindset. I know it’s been hard lately, but use this opportunity to start fresh.
