Hi! I just wanted to say that I love your writing, and you are so so talented!!
Could you write something with a sleep deprived hero/villain?
Have a great day!! đ
[Thank you for your kind words! â€ïž I hope you enjoy this!]
âLet,â Hero says through clenched teeth, struggling against her restraints, âMe. Go.â
Villain slowly paces with his arm behind his back, the other flicking through the holographic news articles that float around his head.
âHero catches falling airplane. Hero saves man from drowning. Hero shields bomb with her own body,â he drawls, lazily tossing each title he reads, âHero takes down notorious leader of drug ring.â
He stops, spreading out his hands and closing them quickly to get rid of the articles.
âAnd all of that, done in the past two days,â he says, unimpressed, upper lip curled up as he looks down at her, âWhat, you trying to break a record or something?â
Hero smiles, baring her teeth at him.
âRelease these restraints and Iâll break another one,â she says sweetly and Villain lets out a laugh.
âThen why donât you get out of them like you usually do?â Villain counters and he looks amused, all raised eyebrows and bright eyes, the curve of his lips sickle-sharp as he tips his chin, âIâm not even using my powers on you. Whatâs the matter hero, all burnt out?â
Hero grits her teeth. Everything feels so heavy, like sheâs underwater, sea-foam filling her gut. She pulls at her restraints harder, sweat running down her face, each beat of her heart a pounding ache in her temples and down her jaw and behind her eyes and when did the room start spinning?
âIgnoring me now?â Villain says but the words sound far away, jumbled, his image trembling at the corners.
Hero clenches her eyes shut, fingers quaking, her limbs like deadweight. God, sheâs tired. Villain is saying something else but Hero canât pay attention, tries to focus on the ground that keeps shifting under her feet. Or is it that sheâs floating away?
Suddenly, her head is yanked back by her hair and her eyes pop open, her stomach lurching from the movement. Thereâs Villain in front of her now, a frown on his face and fuck, how did she not hear him coming? He leans forward, expression neutral but eyes sharp, looking down his nose at her.
â....Your eyes are shaking,â he says and he places his other hand right under her jaw, tips her chin up, âHave you been sleeping?â
âAnd what?â Hero spits, tries the jerk her head away but his grip is like iron, keeping her in place, âDo you expect me to think that you care?â
Something incomprehensible flashes across Villainâs face. He narrows his eyes.
âIâd like my foil to actually be a challenge,â he sneers, tightening his grip on her jaw; Hero snaps her teeth at his fingers, âNot some little girl whoâs falling apart at the seams-â
âIâm fine,â Hero snarls, âIâm fine.â
A pause. Villain lets go of her with a growl, carelessly tossing her head back. Hero hisses from the strain on her neck, trying to focus her shaky gaze on Villain.
âOkay,â Villain says simply, pulling a square controller from his pocket, âSince youâre âfineâ-â
He presses a button and Heroâs restraints open with a hiss.
âFight me,â he finishes and Hero looks at him in disbelief.
âYou-â Hero sputters, âare you serious-â
âIs your hearing failing you as well?â Villain interrupts; Heroâs face darkens, âYou heard me. Fight me.â
Hero gets ups, shakes out her limbs. She blinks to get rid of the black creeping at the edges of her vision.
âLetâs go,â Hero says and Villain tilts his head at her.
She runs at him, throwing a jab and even she can tell how slow she is. Villain sidesteps out of the way, doesnât even bother to put up his hands, face unmoving. She curses, tries another punch, but he easily dodges that one as well.
Hero grits her teeth. Faster, she tells herself. Harder. He moves behind her and she tries to catch him with a kick, twirling around, teeth bared, but her form is all off, her footing unsteady. Her vision trembles.
Villain ducks down, pushes at her upright leg with his shoulder and she goes tumbling down down down. Hero gasps as her back hits the ground, Villain looking at her from above.
âAre you even trying?â he says, disappointed, and Hero digs her fingers into the ground and gets back up.
A punch, he blocks-
âCâmon, Hero. Is that really all you got-â
A kick, he deflects-
âHow are you going to protect this city, the citizens, when you can barely stand-â
Is he getting stronger? Or is she just getting weaker-
âWhen you canât even go up against me-â
He catches her elbow, pulls her near, locks his arm around her waist and theyâre so close, chest to chest, nose to nose-
âWhen you canât even protect yourself?â he hisses, eyes wide and angry and Hero lets out a yell that sounds like a sob.
She brings her head back and slams it against Villainâs. He stumbles back but she follows him, ramming her shoulder into his gut to run him into the ground.
She grabs his wrists and pins them to the floor, thighs bracketing his hips to keep him there.
Blood drips from her nose and onto his cheeks like tears.
âI have a duty,â Hero pants, arms trembling, using every ounce of her willpower to keep from collapsing, âTo keep the people of this city safe, to live their lives without fear.â
She leans forward. Villain just lays there, doesnât even try to struggle, eyebrows drawn low.
âMy blood is their will and my body is their strength. I will use every part of me,â she says, tone firm and unyielding and Villainâs lips press into a thin line, âEven if I can only move my fingers, I will protect them.â
Hero closes her eyes, her head throbbing. Itâs an easy thing, for Villain to wiggle a hand out of Heroâs hold. Hero holds her breath.
Thereâs a stretch of stillness before she feels Villain shift, a touch on her cheek. She snaps her eyes open and oh, the look on his face-
âYouâre tearing yourself apart, Hero,â he mumbles, running his fingers up her cheek, curling around her ear and Hero trembles in the wake of it: she wants to run, she wants to sink into it, âYou need to stop-â
âI canât, I canât,â Hero chokes out, breath coming faster, words spilling out like vomit and Villain just keeps on looking at her; peering into her with those sharp, sharp eyes of his, âMy mind, it just- keeps going. It doesnât shut off. Every time I close my eyes I can- see all the people I failed to save. Their arms outstretched, crying out for help, for me-â
âI can help you,â Villain says, tone calm; Hero freezes, âWith my powers. If youâd let me.â
And isnât that just tempting? To let go, to stop thinking, to fall knowing someone will catch you? Hero chews at her lips.
This is Villain, though. He hurts and he disrupts and he ruins without regret. He is malevolent. He is warped. He is not a good man.
But-
(But this is also Villain, who does what he says and says what he does. Who despises underhand tricks and schemers. Who lays his intentions out for everyone to see, will twirl his knife right under your nose before he stabs you with it.
Who looks up at Hero with such an open face, eyes soft, lips lax, everything out for Hero to see-)
âOkay,â Hero whispers, âokay.â
And Villain moves his hand to her forehead and says, âRelax.â

"You'll be left alone here."
Hero didn't even look back. Seemingly not hearing him as she looked for arrows on the ground.
Villain stood at the other side of the room, gripping the rusty dorknob.
"This is hopeless."
She made no indication that she heard him. Only threw a chair that stood between her and a single, glinting arrow.
She then moved next to the arrowslit, trying her bow with it. Not sparing him a glance.
"Do you have death wish? Hero, they have spears and axes and torches- This whole town will turn to ashes."
She kept watching the window. Her posture tense and her breaths shallow.
"Her-"
"Then go,"
Her voice came out as a whisper.
"I am not stopping you."
To that, he found himself to be at loss for words. Because somehow, she did. His nerves urged him to run away, but he could only stand there watching her.
He knew that running away is what he needs to do now.He knew that these bastards marching here will take no prisoners. He knew Hero will not move from where she stands, prepairing to delay the mob for as long as she breaths. Ready to give her life for a chance that the townspeople will manage to get away.
Curse her tenacious soul.
She slightly tilted her face towards him. But in moment they locked eyes she seemed almost... surprised. As if she didn't expect him to still be there.
"You do not have to stay."
She said softly, fully looking at him now. She was battle-ready, but her rich walnut eyes shone with something softer. Will this be the last time he sees them?
"No."
She frowned, studying him carefully.
"Hero, please, this is crazy. How many do you think you'll take? And for WHAT?"
He gestured outside, where panicked families ran away as fast as they could.
"For som- some FOOLS who brought hell upon themeselve?"
"What did they ever do for you? What could possibly ever make you face an army for them!? Th-"
"But you are still here, too."
Hero's voice turned almost hopeful.
Villain looked aside. He should not be here. Maybe he was the crazy one.
"Some things in life are worth protecting. Even from an army."
He didn't even look at her, but could tell that she said it with a smile.
"I know you had it rough, we both had, but can you not imagine this?"
He dared looking back at her. Her eyes stayed steady on him.
"Having something you will fight for until your last breath?"
The way she said it was filled with purpose and hope and... and maybe even...
Before he thought of it, he took out his sword and stepped closer to her. She turned to face him, a relived smile on her features. Her shoulders relaxed when he gently touched her cheek.
A first wave of rushing warriors could be seen from the arrowslit.
"I can, actually."

The hero knew that the villain would never make such a dumb move to get caught but yet they did. Why tho? What was the reason? The hero wondered as they slowly turned their head to face the villain.
"choose your last words wisely." They said.
The villain laughed in the most maniac way possible but their eyes brimmed with water and yet they didn't let a drop fall from them.
"I wish to meet you again" They smiled hiding their emotions. Being as stoic as possible.
"Why would you wanna meet me agai-" Before the hero could complete their sentence, villain slowly crawled towards them barely able to stand up they put a finger on their lips causing the blood to stain on the hero's face as well.
Signalling the hero that those were their final words.
The hero noticed the teary eyes from this close but didn't know that they themselves were the reason behind those tears. They didn't know that villain regretted to not say those three words to them, that they regretted to not being able make 'good memories' with them. They just thought that the villain was mourning because they knew that they were gonna die.
As the hero was processing these thoughts in their head they heard a loud noise someone had fired a bullet right into villain's chest making them fall into the arms of the hero.
"Are you alright ?" The person asked while approaching to the hero.
"Yes" The hero replied slowly placing the villain down on the floor.
The villain peacefully closed their eyes after watching the hero hugging the person next to them. They could have been jealous but they were happy, that atleast they died in the arms of their lover.
Even if it was a one sided love.
{ eeeeee, This is like my first villain x hero prompt, sooo...idk đ©đ« (the pic doesn't belong to me) }
I decided to make some Carmen Sandiego icons <3
TW: Head trauma, broken bone, abuse, swearing
âI canât believe we lost again!â Sidekick threw their hands up in frustration and Villain flinched. âItâs your fault, you know!â Sidekick shoved Villain. âIf you could just pay attention to the damn fight instead of going off into la la land, maybe we could win for once!â
âSidekick, look, you havenât been doing this for a long time, and-â
Sidekick struck Villain across the face and Villain stepped back. A month ago, Villain would have been angry. They would have hit back- or tried to. Now, instead of anger, fear rose in their chest.
âYou donât try hard enough!â Sidekick screamed at Villain. âYou think I just want to frolic around the city in a costume and go home every time Hero shows an ounce of resistance?? Hero is the enemy! Just fucking take them out already!â
âSidekick, Iâm doing everything that I can.â
A warm red glow started forming around Sidekickâs hands. âWell your âeverythingâ isnât enough!â
âPlease, Sidekick, just listen- you donât know-â
Suddenly, red engulfed Villain and they were slammed into the wall. They fell to the floor as the red dissipated. âDonât tell me what I do and donât know!â Sidekick was shaking with rage, hands up and ready to strike again.
âS-Sidekick-â Villain coughed, âWhy donât you put 100% into the fights? Y-youâre strong- you could win every time!â
Sidekick snarled. âBecause that would give away all my secrets. Besides, I shouldnât have to.â Red swallowed up Villainâs body again, and they were hurled all the way across the room this time.
Villain tried to push themself off the ground as Sidekick circled closer. âP-please-â
Sidekick kicked Villain back down and red consumed Villain again, lifting them off the ground and then slamming them down again like a rag-doll. There was a sickening crack and Villain screamed.
âThis should give you some time to consider how you can push harder. You wonât be fighting on that leg for a while.â Sidekick kicked Villain hard in the temple and Villainâs body went limp
-
âVillain. Villain, wake up. Can you hear me?â Came a distant voice. âVillain, come on, open your eyes.â Villain struggled to force themself awake as someone shook their shoulder. âPlease, Villain, come on.â
Villainâs eyelids felt heavy as lead as they finally managed to open them a bit. Everything was blurred and out of focus.
âVillain!â Someone caught them up in their arms and a jolt of pain shot through Villainâs leg. They tried to yell, but all that came out was a thick, choked sound. The person holding them hushed them. âI know. I know it hurts, but weâve gotta get out of here. Itâs not safe.
Despite the pain, Villain soon found themself drifting back into oblivion.
Part 1 here
******
âWhyâd you do it?â
Hero was frightened at first, thinking the worse- that Villain was mad at her. And maybe he was, but not in the anger which Hero assumed. An anger which involved malice, hatred, and revenge.
âIâm sorry. I didnât think about it. I should have let him finish instead of-â
âLet him finish?â Villain squinted over at Hero, who wouldnât face him no matter how gentle his tone was. Hero seemed- âAre you afraid of me?â
In response, the chains attached to Heroâs wrists clashed and jangled. She said nothing. Swallowed. Stared at the floor. Pondered whether this silence was a better or worse response thanâŠthan anything else. Maybe silence would upset Villain further.
Why exactly would he be mad with her? Well, it could have been for several reasons.
The first, Hero eliminated: Villain cared for her.
The second, infinitely more likely: Hero messed up, didnât allow him to pass out- to avoid the pain which Supervillain caused.
The third, perhaps close to the first: Villain was annoyed by her self-sacrifice, only for it not to work. The stupidity of the act, the thoughtlessness.
âHero.â Villainâs voice was more demanding this time- a mistake on his behalf. âYou are afraid, arenât you?â Even after thatâŠscene. Villain felt bad, he did- though perhaps he shouldnât have. He was truly a villain. Caring about whether or not some philanthropist was afraid of him might as well have been considered a crime against his own moral codes. And yetâŠÂ âWeâre- uh- weâre in this together, alright?â
Was such a simple statement easy to say? Not at all.
But was it necessary? Absolutely.
Truthfully, Villain wasnât sure he would have survived had Hero not stepped in. Yes, he was upset- because he did believe Hero deserved better than to go throughâŠthrough that. That, which Villain didnât like to think of, even if it was over for the time-being. The torture.
In any way, Villain appreciated Hero for the help, butâŠbut, it made him angry. Not at her. He couldnât be angry with Hero, not for something that was so natural to her, and not when it saved him from more torment than he could handle. He was angry with Supervillain, for breaking someone not worth breaking.
It wasnât that Hero wasnât a worthy opponent. It was that she didnât- again- deserve to be an opponent at all. She was kind, self-sacrificing, giving, thoughtful- in a caring way, not so much in a strategic one. Opponents were created with negative connotations, with spite and hate. Hero didnât deserve that.
âWhat did you mean earlier,â Villain asked, âabout letting Supervillain finish? Finish what?â
âFinish learning,â Hero said, voice almost quiet enough to miss. âItâs easier to let him finish the process, to- for you to sleep, so that it doesnât- um- doesnât hurt anymore. But I stopped him too soon and now-â
Is she sniffling? Villain couldnât see her face anymore. Sheâd dropped it, letting her hair fall over her eyes and cheeks.
â-heâll have to do it again. Heâll finish next time, have to do it all over again. Iâm sorry.â
Donât apologize. You didnât do anything wrong, Villain wanted to say, but by judging the rest of this situation, saying anything would make it worse. Hero would view every word as a lie, or read it as aggravation, and fall further into brokenness. Not to mention, if Villain told Hero not to apologize, then sheâd likely apologize again, feel bad for it, and then itâd become a cycle which neither party knew how to deal with.
âYou didnât do anything wrong, Hero. Itâs okay.â
âItâs okay.â Well, wasnât that the biggest lie of all? None of this was okay, but it was all Villain knew to say. All he could do in order to give Hero hope.
Thatâs what she deserves.
Hope.
So, maybe it was a good thing, to say they were okay, that they would make it out. Because it was the only thing the two had left.
