You Say, ‘I Am Rich; I Have Acquired Wealth And Do Not Need A Thing.’ But You Do Not Realize That

You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.  I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see. Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent.  Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.

Starting University

When I was a child, I always said, that I want to be a mechanical engineer. I thought it's about designing cool aircrafts, spaceships, cars, iron man suits... Turns out, it's just a big load of maths.

I had this dream as a kid but in high school my visions for the future altered for numerous reasons: 1 - my very old friend, who is an utmost clever person (used to be a genetics professor (i'm not telling it to show off, just so that you can understand why his word mattered (level 3 ;)))), so he, told me, that there's "more" potential in me, than just being an ordinary engineer. I never quite understood what's ever so ordinary about a mechanical engineer btw... 2- my girlfriend told me the same. Well then I had to rethink my ideals, my reasons, everything. I realised, that there is actually much much more into life, than machines. (not according to Matrix)

But then, hereI am, studying mechanical engineering. It is actually a fun thing but I have so many other plans. Who knows if I'll wind up as a drop-out or not... Anyways, I feel, that if I'm here for once, then it's an opportunity. I don't want to let down the Great Organiser... I'll do my best, and we'll see what it turns out as.

Yay! Pop-art!

Yay! Pop-art!

Someone saw this picture being the wallpaper of my phone and just said: "Yeah, but he actually isn't." That is a misunderstanding.

Descartes identified something self-evident in this statement. If I think, then it cannot be that I do not exist--to put it differently. But then, we can see that the man on the picture is really not there. His place is indicated but he's absent. However, that's the point: it is possible for everything to not be as it is, yet, as long as I think, I exist. And there's obviously no need to prove that because it's a trivial truth. If the man thinks, his existence cannot be doubted, even when it would seem that he doesn't exist.

But there's more!

Granted that if I think, then I am, everything else is contingent. And this image is smartly implying that regardless of the appearances, if and as long as I think, I am.

St. Thomas Acquinas said that everything is perfect that is. It is so because perfection is the most or ultimately desired state of a being. And for every being the most desirable is to be, ergo when something is, then it is perfect. But that perfection stands only inasmuch as something exists. Which means that every human being is a perfect human being.

What's not so easy to see in this, is that while every human being is a perfect human being, it applies only to their beings. So it's easy to understand that every person, not depending on their skin color or culture or language, realizes in their existence the perfection of human existence, that only leads to the conclusion that only in the fact that people exist are they perfect. That means that their actions may be imperfect, just the same, and that would not invalidate the thesis that they are perfect.

In summary, every human being, just because they are, realize the perfection that can describe a human being. So there are no inferior and superior people. Equality is thus, by the nature of things, granted, and any inequality, originating in the imperfection of one, is an illusion. However, that does in no way lead us to the conclusion that the content of any being is perfect. It is false romanticizing and a logical fallacy. Equality is naturally given because everybody fulfils the perfection conveyed in human existence but that is exactly how far equality can be talked of and anything beyond that line will not really be in relation to equality.

I'm glad that even as simple as a wallpaper can have meaning.

“The Fault In Our Death Stars”

“The Fault in our Death Stars”

So I had this idea ages ago, but I never really got started on it. Earlier this month, I finally did and it turned out great! :D So I’m saving this graphic for May 4th, but now I find out #thefaultinourdeathstars is already a thing?!?

Oh well. I guess there’s little point in keeping it from you, then…

Anyway, I was on a roll, so this also happened:

All the suck for the awesome

Difficulties may come. Or actually do come. We like to call even the less trying days hard ones, too, but now I'm speaking of real difficulties. As I said, we come across those times.

I'm convinced you know what I'm talking of, when I say being the burn-out one, doing the monotonous routine you swore to never do, dreaming big but always being stuck in second gear... These all are quite common symptoms of a-normal-life.

I've just arrived at the end of one of these periods. It's been a quarter year, that I lived through many sufferings. But I must admit, that most of them were self-inflicted, for all this served an indeed great purpose: the benefit of my personality.

I've been very reluctant towards my studies in mechanical engineering. I grew to hate my uni, and all that came with it. BUT this time has come to an end, when I realised, how incredibly much I've gained from this. I learnt truly spectacular and useful matters, and I've made important acquintaces, valuable friendships. True ones. Much more true ones, than what I foresaw for the period.

All in all, I'm clearly grateful for the thing I hated the most in the past couple of months, since I feel like I've become a better man through them. It makes me delightful to have been able to just remain on the surface.

Oh boy, I'm exhausted, so I suppose this post will end up as some nonsense but I hope, that for some of you out-there, it will mean what I meant...

Well, let it pass; April is over, April is over. There are all kinds of love in the world, but never the same love twice.

My Girlfriend And I Visited A Castle Last Weekend. It Was Smaller Than The Ones People Usually Visit,

My girlfriend and I visited a castle last weekend. It was smaller than the ones people usually visit, though I dare say it was much more picturesque, than any one I have ever seen.

My girlfriend is a very inspirational person and I'm glad she convinced me to go. I like castles and nice buildings just fine but an unusually busy period of summer was just over, so I felt overall tired-- almost too tired to go.

After exploring every empty hall, every majestic architectural feat, we headed home. I was happy to be able to rest and also to have visited this castle. The whole thing was good as it was.

Later (now), sitting at home, this trip began to hold importance, other than being a fantastic vacation. As it is said above, I've been very active recently. I was so active, in fact, that I've begun to believe, that it is all right to stop for a little while. Well, OK, periods of relaxation are inevitable, that's true. What I realized, though, is, that even in times of rest and peace, I can't stop completely. We aren't cars, which you turn off, when you arrive at home and turn on the next morning, when you want to go to work. Our breathing doesn't stop, our hearts don't stop beating. Even when the world is quiet, we need to stay in motion, or else, much like our organs, we will be difficult to reactivate. Life can be grand but only if we live it.

Heatherfield Citizen

I mostly write. Read at your leisure but remember that my posts are usually produced half-asleep and if you confront me for anything that came from me I will be surprisingly fierce and unforeseeably collected. Although I hope we will agree and you will have a good time.
