maybe the term “antisemitism” seems “overused” because theres so much of it
Jewish culture is gently resting a kippah on your pet's head so they'll feel included
you can’t say that and not show us….
Jewish people deserve to feel safe and if your first reaction is to go "but-!" then you're a bigot
Jewish people aren't some alien race that has ✨️special exemptions✨️ to your grace and understanding when it comes to minorities
It's not Jewish people's fault that your first instinct is to come up with an excuse for why it's "actually totally ok and ethical" to hate them
please witness its power
Happy Hannukah, y'all! I helped light the Menorah! 🐰🕯
Without going into too many personal details, my chronic illness has prevented me from attending my shul for over a month now. I miss my community so bad. It’s so hard to feel engaged while watching service livestreams. I just want to be in the building again, with my friends.
Thinking about this part of the JVP Tisha B’Av guide:
Literally it says
“This is what the day is about”
And then openly admits that it is purposely removing this meaning from the day leaving… what? Some bullshit shell of Judaism and Jewish identity.
But it’s honestly really telling because this is what they want us to do. They want us to give up our identity “for the Liberation of Palestine” and they think this is a perfectly acceptable request and they point to antizionist Jews and say “see! They’ve made themselves acceptable to us! Why can’t you?”
And don’t get me wrong, I am 100% in support of the liberation of Palestinians from Israeli oppression. At the same time, it is always unacceptable to ask people to alter or give up their cultural identity for any reason, especially at the threat of verbal abuse and violence

I’ve been seeing a lot of people talking about accepting Orthodox Jews recently. And while I’m very happy that we’re getting some positive attention for once. I’ve noticed a lot of peoples arguments for why Orthodox (they really mean modern orthodox) Jews are cool is that they’re “not like ultra-orthodox Jews”. So here’s your reminder that if you don’t accept Jews you consider “too orthodox” then you don’t accept Orthodox Jews period.
Internalized antisemitism isn’t a cute look babes.
