He was just here, wasn't he? Just around, laughing and working, he was just here. But he's gone now. Where had he gone? He's not at home, you wish he was. But wishing is something that won't fix this, what will fix this?

Walking down the street, Jacob let his mind wander, allowing the things of recent past going and wandering through his mind to process it. He wasn't gone, was he? He couldn't be. Jacob shook his head and continued to walk down the street, the silence of the shadow filled road was deafening. He took out a pack of cigarettes and fumbled with his lighter, eventually lighting it and taking a long puff. He glanced around and his eyes couldn't help but land on the one thing he saw so many times.. missing posters.

It hurt to see. He frowned and grabbed the poster, crumpling it and throwing it down to the ground with his cigarette, the ash burning the posted as Jacob walked away, his mind going quiet now. A breath of relief leaving him.

And a soft smile on his face.
