Being able to ask NPCs where in their respective towns certain things are, such as championships, races and shops.

Being able to ask for rumors if your reputation is high enough (NPCs will share their ideas on what’s going on with GED, the druids, DC and other mysteries)

Asking their relationship with other NPCs (limited to the main cast)

Actually asking the NPCs that will be in your journal in the future for information, and it being filled out (favorite things, backstory etc) instead of MC magically knowing upon meeting them for the first time.

NPCs reacting to your emotes if you emote in front of them and then talk to them, such as laughing and being asked what’s so funny, or crying and being asked if you’re okay.

If all else fails, references as filler. “Do you go to the silverglade estate very often? Oh, what am I saying. Of course you don’t.”

NPCs having personalities and their filler dialogue reflecting that, animal crossing style.

NPCs giving advice to newer players.
