civilian OCs are extremely fun to play around with! make them be in the middle of all the wacky stuff going on, maybe make them get dragged right into the scenario without a clue as to what’s going on, etc. etc.

I may be delusional for believing in a bigger idea behind the amnesia subplot (because not having to incorporate him into the story actually may be the reason Doc meant lol), but I'm too invested right now to stop.

I'm sorry to Jay fans, but it's obvious now that his amnesia sub-plot was just an excuse to not have to incorporate him into the story while also making it seem like he's more important than he actually is and giving Nya something to do that doesn't advance either of them in a meaningful way.

mark my words, Jay will get his memories back and revert to his old self and it'll be like this never happened. "shattering his goodness"? it'll mean nothing. this is just more proof that the original ninja aside from Lloyd are Done as characters and there's nothing really left for them to do except for have little sub-plots to keep them busy and distract us from the fact they have nothing going on internally. THIS is why the young ninja exist

The ninja in Dragons Rising are Lloyd, Sora, Arin, Wyldfyre, and Frak. Kai (is important for Wyldfyre but still), Nya, Jay, Cole, and Zane are side characters who exist to sell sets
