SYNOPSIS: In order to have a fresh start, you decided to move into your old house after the death of your parents. However, you weren't expecting to come across the spirit of a boy inside; Park Sunghoon was his name. He was always an enigma, a puzzle that you couldn't fully comprehend but that was what attracted you to him nonetheless. Yet, slowly but surely, you began to notice that things weren't as they seemed — and Park Sunghoon had the exact answers you were looking for.

You left the light open, Sunghoon noticed. He stood at the top of the stairs, staring at the flickering light bulb down in the basement with his feet barely grazing the floor — a reminder that he was nothing but a mere spectre. Could he even be considered an existence? Sunghoon’s hand hovered over the light switch on the wall; the same place where you had left your touch a while ago.

He could hardly feel it underneath his skin, as if there was an invisible layer that prevented him from leaving his touch on things that weren’t of his world — Snap! — but he could still make his way through. The flickering light faded and the switch was flipped, different from how you had left it. Weird, wasn’t it? He was naught but an apparition. But oh, he wasn’t like the rest of his kind; because Park Sunghoon was a special case.

The house was filled with darkness except for the small rays of moonlight peeking their way through the dusty curtains. Sombre dullness reflected in his eyes, the male let his gaze drift to the side onto your sleeping form on the couch that was a few feet away from the basement door. He could hear your breathing, he could see the way your chest rose and fell with every single breath that you took, he could feel your faint heartbeat.

Park Sunghoon was different from you, far too different… or was he?

He closed his eyes.

Ding dong!

The grandfather clock chimed its haunting melody, a sign that the sun had begun its rise from the east.

Sunghoon always hated the fact that time was merciless towards him. As if it had a mind of its own, time could be as uncanny as it liked and he could do nothing about it. His eyelids were heavy but he lifted them open with a resigned sigh. When Sunghoon looked back, you were already gone and he heard a sharp inhale just right behind him.

“What the—.”

There you were, muttering under your breath with eyes blown wide open. You hurriedly switched on the light in the living room, your hasty steps screeching against the floor — no, you did not recall shutting off the light down in the basement at all.

There was a tint of regret in Sunghoon's mind when he realized that his harmless act earlier had given you quite the scare. It was funny; that you and him were in the same room and yet, the terrified look on your face was different from the nonchalance he displayed.

Sunghoon saw it in your eyes, the fear that slowly began spreading across your dilated pupils.

He didn't know what came upon him — he had only let your name leave his lips as a hushed whisper of longing, “(Y/N).” No, Sunghoon wasn't expecting you to turn around and lock gazes with him with those (E/C) irises of yours.

You took a few steps backwards, hesitance evident in the stutter of your voice. “Wh-who are you!? How did you get in here?” He wasn't expecting you to be able to see him, what was happening? You didn't seem to recognize him… Was it for the better or for the worse? Sunghoon couldn't tell — but for now, he'll play along.

"I live here, actually. Or you can say, haunt, for lack of a better word."

The way Sunghoon spoke of it so calmly had you thinking of so many questions. "I have been here for a long time… maybe too long." He raised his gaze to meet yours, blank eyes silently uttering words that couldn't leave his mouth; And you, you weren't supposed to be here.

[4:56 PM] - Florist!Kun smiled to himself as he waited for you and your daughter to arrive at his shop. For the last year, you had visited Florist!Kun’s flower shop every Sunday to buy flowers for your mother, who had sadly been hospitalized due to her health. 

Florist!Kun admired your strength. He knew it must not have been easy as a single mother of an eight-year old while juggling two jobs to cover your mother’s hospital bills. Being a longtime friend, Florist!Kun tried to help out where he could, sometimes babysitting your daughter so you could run to do some errands. 

“Sorry, I’m late” You struggled to close your umbrella, the rain soaking your hair. You let go of your daughter’s hand, letting her run for shelter inside the store. 

“Kun!” Your daughter beamed as she climbed the small foot chair that Florist!Kun had set up so your daughter could see over the counter.

“Aren’t you prettier than ever,” Florist!Kun adoringly rubbed your daughter’s hair. He gave you just as an endearing look, “How are you doing today?” 

You tiredly smiled, unloading the details of the hectic week you had, had. Florist!Kun gave you a sympathetic nod. 

“How about after you visit with your mother? I pick you up, and we can all grab some dinner.” Florist!Kun offered, noting how the rain had only worsened. He knew you didn’t have a car, and he’d hate to see you and your daughter have to wait for the bus. 

“You’re an absolute angel,”

You were appreciative of how attentive and understanding Florist!Kun had been over the past year. Sure, two of you had always been friends, but something of late had changed between you both. 

You didn’t know what was in store for you both, but you liked to think that it was a welcomed change. 

“Here,” Florist!Kun forwarded a bouquet of flowers to your daughter. She clasped them in her tiny arms, thanking him. 

“See you later Kun,” She said in the cutest of voices. 

“Call me when you’d like me to pick you up,” 

You smiled, “I will,”

itoshi sae- the hot soccer captain of his school, who happens to also be winning the ‘idgaf’ war. call him the nonchalant final boss if you want but you didn't hate him. in the same time, you wouldn't exactly like him 

so how did you both end up stuck in the locker room? 

here’s a little setting for you! yes you! 

you, being a prominent member of the school journaling team, was asked to get some insights from the soccer star. striking up a conversation with him was already hard, how would you push questions on him? you weren't exactly sure but you had to do it, your team depended on you 

clipboard pushed to your chest, you knock on the locker room and surprise surprise, the man of the hour opens it. he doesn’t say anything, tilting his head at you and waited for you to start the conversation or else he would send you out of the room 

“do you mind sharing a few words about your match today? it would help our club with the weekly new-” 

“come in,” sae sighs and you were this close to smacking your clipboard on him but hey, you’re going to be the mature one here 

“brilliant game itoshi,” you complimented and took a seat on the bench facing him 

he puts a towel around his neck and grabs the bottle nearby, taking a sip as if pissing you off on purpose. “tell me something i don’t know” 

“how did you feel when playing today? you didn't let the opponent school score a single point!,” you mention in awe while seeing the scored jotted down 

“how did you expect me to feel?,” sae turned the question to you 

you raise your eyebrow at his words because last time you checked, you were the one asking the questions. “excuse me?” 

sae sighs and puts his bottle down before throwing in the most generic answer. the dry conversation went back and forth, and your polite meter was going to crash if you stayed any longer. 

the star didn't give much of a newsworthy answer but you knew his fanclub would eat it up, allowing your club to rise in school. sae’s answers were short and simple and that was easy to write- a win for you! 

“alright,” you click your pen with a somewhat content smile. “i got everything i need. thank you for your time itoshi” 

“sure” 

you get up, dusting your uniform a bit before heading to the door but.. why was it locked? you twist the doorknob but it wouldn't open no matter how much force you put 

“well would you look at that,” sae gets up and tosses his damped towel on the bench 

you turn over to look at him, a little annoyed at the place you both were now ‘stuck in’. definitely wasn't something planned- who said that?? no no! you both, by pure ‘coincidence’ were locked in. it's not like he paid shidou to put a chair to block the door for an hour. and he definitely did not force your club to send you to interview him

give me a five who has to go to regular school after all this bullshit is done. he would be the school fucking cryptid. the cullen s at forks high but to an extreme degree. he doesn’t talk to anyone, his name is a number, and he always teleports in school but never gets called on it. he talks like he’s 100 and looks like a scrawny beanpole but also broke the hand of that one guy that tried to mess with him. he has his whole table to himself at lunch because everyone’s scared of him. he becomes an urban legend to the whole school. no one ever sees him walking in the halls, but he’s the first person in every classroom. he answers all the questions he’s asked but he never pays attention, always scribbling all over whatever’s in front of him. one girl tried to ask him out once and he just stared at her for a full minute before she ran away. one kid got paired with him for a partner project with him and five took the kid to viktor’s place (because it would be quieter than trying to work in the academy) and no one was there the whole time so people think he’s like a tragic orphan living in an apartment all by himself. the kid went back the next day bc he left something there and the neighbor told him that no one had lived in that apartment for almost three months. he’s top of all the classes but he never participates on anything. he skips school often enough that it becomes yet another thing. he also has his own peculiar eating habits from the apocalypse so people will just watch him at lunch and see him eat like a bite of his sandwich and then tuck it back into his backpack. he’s a man out of time, he’s got no fucking clue what’s going on at all times. he doesn’t know what netflix is or how to work the school-provided laptops but he does know the exact details of several historical events with frightening precision and can do incredibly complicated math problems in his head. the current theory is that he’s an immortal of some kind that ages very slowly and now is trying to live in regular society to avoid suspicion but is failing spectacularly. back to school night comes and people vibrate with anticipation to see what’s gonna happen with him. most people bet he won’t show up but he does, and boy does he. he comes in with five or six adults, depending on who you ask. some one said one of them was allison hargreeves, the movie star. another one was absolutely giant and ripped to the max. they were all teasing and making fun of him for being such a little genius as he got steadily more and more frustrated. one kid swears he heard five threaten to castrate one of them with a rusty melon baller, which most people believe. someone tries to ask him how he knows the massively famous movie star once and he just laughs like a madman in the library for a full three minutes before getting himself kicked out. another person tried to ask which one was his parents and he told them with a deadpan straight face ‘none of them. my mothers a robot and the closest thing i had to a father was a highly advanced chimpanzee.’ when asked how he knew all these people he said ‘i’m a dumbass magnet, apparently.’ he answered no more questions about it ever. there’s an instagram page dedicated to finding out information about him and it gets hacked every other week by someone who will post about how fucking ridiculous the account is and how moronic they are and don’t they have anything better to do with their lives. he talks to himself constantly. just, give me cryptid five in a public high school. please.

Look at him in his little camp half-blood shirt 🥺 according to Rick Riordan he even got a yankees baseball cap to resemble Annabeth's cap

For those of you who haven't watched the Adam Project, Walker (this kid) played a younger Ryan Reynolds. They cast him for his sense of humor and great use of sarcasm, and because he apparently remembers the Deadpool script word for word. All they gotta do is dye his hair darker and that's a Percy right there. Walker is currently also 13, which means this adaptation will be faithful to the books.

I'm still secretly hoping they cast Logan Lerman as Poseidon, or maybe even as Paul. I just wanna see my white boy of the month shine again 🥹
