I’ve realized that generations of people have read To Kill a Mockingbird and have come to the conclusion based on writing alone that Mr. Atticus Finch is FINE

Bonus points if how they act out is just a way to get a reaction out of their parent because deep down they still desperately crave that approval, crave that acknowledgment, good or bad

Double bonus points if their parent/mentor betrayed a them or lets them down in some way and despite the hatred they feel towards them it can’t completely down out the need for approval; thus an over the top, dramatic event occurs
