Drabble prompt, something about Momo, exactly 100 words
Oh no my weakness-- 100 word drabbles that I can’t expand on! (this is why I cheat and do a drabble-series) Here’s... several more drabbles than you asked for about Momo adjusting to having a family(I enjoy writing Momo’s POV way too much, this is a problem. Will I be posting *another* Momo drabble collection to ao3 now? Yes. You’ve awakened a monster.) 1. Warm
The best part of being in a conspiracy again is the warmth.
This-lemur-now-Momo curls against his boy's heartbeat and twitches an ear as the soft breath tickles it. His boy is warm and his boy is gentle, and when his boy's heartbeat picks up and begins to race faster than Momo's when he's being chased, his boy never moves. Momo snuggles close, under his chin and his boy laughs quietly.
If Momo didn't know any better, he'd think his boy was dead. But Momo can feel his boy's heartbeat, and he can see the tear sliding down his boy's cheek.
2. Soft
The girl-who-smells-like-the-sea is softer than his boy. Momo laments the time he wasted before learning this because she is so soft, and her hair smells so nice, and she always knows where to scratch his ears. She is kind and gentle and he knows why his boy always gets so warm and flustered when she's around. He likes her for his boy. She makes his boy happy, and his boy breath easier.
When his boy has all the fury of a thousand suns under his skin, and his boy scares Momo, she is there. Calm and steady, like the sea.
3. Bright
Momo isn't sure what to call the last member of their conspiracy.
He is least soft of the three tall-wingless-lemurs, though he and ocean-girl are tied for least warm. His boy is just much warmer than the others. The tall-wingless-lemur isn't soft, and he isn't warm, and though he smells like death still, Momo isn't afraid anymore.
This boy brings the brightness forth every night, though, the strange burning warmth that Momo fears in his bones. The brightness is like the boy--something dangerous, something that could hunt Momo down if it wanted.
Momo leaps onto the shoulder of the bright-boy.
Sokka isn't "high intelligence low wisdom", he's an adhd genius
he sure fucking is and idk why we have to keep saying it for people
I really like Denki but I don’t really enjoy the vision the fandom has of him. I mean yeah, the dumb jokes are kinda funny but when they’re all you see it gets old real quick, he’s not even dumb, he’s just not good at studying as many others in class 1A but they don’t call Mina dumb even tho she failed her exams and needed tutoring just like him. He’s not clueless, everybody jokes about him beig short circuit from his quirk but all I can think about is how scary it must be to loss control of your own body while trying to save people, he pushes his limits all the time to get closer to his goals
Looks like you made a new friend, Sokka.
Who do you think is smarter, Sokka or Azula?
well I suppose one’s answer depends on how they define intelligence. personally, I value intellect far less than I value one’s capacity for critical thinking, self-awareness, and empathy. I believe that those are the fundamental pillars that define one’s character, and whether or not they know many things and possess many skills matters far less to me.
sokka and azula have a lot in common. they’re both strategic, calculating, resourceful, creative, and most importantly, they both enjoy stupid puns. (also they’re both entps but u didn’t see me say that...) another thing they share in common is that they are deeply motivated by a desire to emulate their fathers, to be the strong, respected, infallible leader they see him as, and due to their subconscious worship of patriarchy, they consider any sign of vulnerability, even amongst those they supposedly trust, to be a weakness—and they consider any weakness a sure sign of failure.
now, crucially, sokka grows out of this mindset. he learns to open up and express his feelings, and he learns to be his own person. he realizes that his father is proud of him regardless of how great a warrior he is. sokka desperately wants to prove himself, but it is in realizing that he should follow his own path that allows him to fully self-actualize. (zuko gets it.) azula doesn’t.
by the end of the show, azula is only just realizing that her father does not truly love her, that he only sees her as a pawn, to be discarded when she is no longer useful. azula doesn’t know who she is outside of her abuse, and she never got the chance to self-actualize. due to the brainwashing she experienced all her life, she lacks true self-awareness, whereas sokka has only been growing more and more self-aware through the seasons. (he’s still far more insecure than he should be, but he’s getting there.)
sokka and azula are both extremely intelligent. there’s no denying that. but to frame it as who is more intelligent is folly. the better question is, who would win a game of pai sho? and the answer to that, of course, is that sokka beats azula easily. not due to her lack of skill, strategy, or cunning, but due to her hubris.
You’re something special, Jim.
WHOS UR FAVORITE FEARLESS HERO? LEO!!!!
this au was inevitable
you know what i just realised? that katara, telling sokka that he ‘didn’t love their mother like she did’ was after sokka lost yue.
like. her brother not only lost his mother and then had his father leave which made him overprotective and extremely fearful of losing people he cares about, but then he also fails to protect his first love after being appointed as her bodyguard which only makes him feel like more of a failure, to the point where he’s desperate and guilty enough to break hakoda and suki out of prison with no backup, because he believes the failure on the day of the eclipse is his fault.
apart from aang, sokka probably knows more about loss than anyone else on that show, not because he’s experienced a lot of it, but because he didn’t get angry at the people who killed them: he internalized it.
Day 27: botanical
I tried pixel art for this one. I think baby Leo is very cute lol
