sokka’s self-esteem is so fucking low he is literally incapable of processing any form of compliment. the problem isn’t just that no will tell him he’s good, but that when they do, he refuses to believe them.

the way sokka and azula’s dynamic would progress from azula being like “sokka is extremely smart and needs to be destroyed” to “sokka is extremely smart and must teach me everything he knows,” but it’s also a very gradual process filled with a lot of rage and resentment and losing to him at pai sho; concurrently, sokka going from “wow I fucking hate you” to “wow I fucking hate you” (but said lovingly). also azula thinks all of sokka’s jokes are funny. every single one. they share the exact same sense of humor and this fact baffles all of their other friends so much

Rewatching When World’s Collide is so funny because I swear the only reason Mikey ended up with electrical powers had to be because in the middle of the writing process for the episode, the writers must’ve realized that they gave him like nothing to do when compared to everyone else so someone just went “lets kill him off briefly and then give him electrical powers when he comes back” and they just rolled with it not noticing how this plot line just happens and is never properly explained.

Rise of the TMNT is the best show period.
