As the flickering light from the overhead chandelier catches in the hollows of his cheekbones, you cannot help but give pause to admire him - it is not often you play host to such distinguished guests in your quarters, let alone a man so virile and handsome. He looks positively devilish in his crisp naval uniform, arms folded across a broad chest as he leans back against your dining table, and this fact alone is enough to make you want to ruin him. It would not be the first time a man of such high status had lost his dignity before you.

“I believe you heard me, Admiral,” you repeat, leaning back in your chair with your chin tilted upwards as you regard him. “And if you care for the wellbeing of your men - all of whom are currently tied up across my deck, if memory serves - then you will comply.”

(sorry for the long rant) the concept for obey me, as a game, is really creative. i love the individuality of each character, the whole ‘exchange student’ theme and the inclusion of the three realms. as you said in a previous post, the plot-line falls short, and i totally agree.

there was so much potential for character development and redemption for belphie, but it was all thrown away because ‘omg ur lilith’s distant grandchild?!’ it felt so lazy for the writers to resort to that explanation just so the story could move forward. i think obey me players as a collective would’ve enjoyed season one more if belphie tried to right his wrongs.

even in later seasons, mc’s death isn’t mentioned at all, and belphie doesn’t even seem remorseful about it. there’s not a crumb of character development from belphie, apart from him not being hostile towards mc, which i wouldn’t really call character development. personally, i think belphie’s writing is a huge downfall for the game and the main reason why not many players seem to like him.

as for the other brothers, mammon, beel, asmo and levi seemed to be the only brothers who truly cared about mc, mammon especially. lucifer was incredibly violent towards mc, and nearly killed them twice, until he found out that they were related to lilith. then everything was fine. satan wasn’t really interested in mc and was pretty indifferent towards them for the majority of the time, since he didn’t know lilith at all.

it really sucks knowing that a main reason why the brothers (excluding mammon, because he’s been our number one from the beginning) like mc is because of our relation to their deceased sister. no wonder there’s so many angst fics about the brothers using us as a replacement for lilith.
