Okay I JUST realized I never posted these on here—- BUT BASICALLY, about a year and a half ago I started doing these experimental black hairstyle posts that were threads long on Twitter, to give artists a source of inspo for their black ocs whose hair they wanted to try something new with! There’s more to black hair than just the selected styles portrayed in media, and I thought it would be fun to show people how much texture, shape, fades, length, and style can be combined when drawing black hair—-cause it’s a kind of manipulation our hair can do irl! The OG posts were lost with the hacking of my original Twitter account (@/bagels_donuts) but I’ve since reuploaded the whole thread to my new Twitter (@/ItsDonutsFR)! I hope artists on tumblr find these useful, sorry it took me so long to post them here😭🙏🏾 I’ll upload them all in parts!

Part 1: Long masc hairstyles + playing with fades

The dichotomy of the league of villains will always be amazing to me. Shigaraki and Dabi can kill dozens of people in the blink of an eye. Toga and Compress are deadly too but their quirks also instill a sense of paranoia. If they're around you are not safe and you can't trust anyone around you; and after sad man's parade, Twice was capable of BOTH.

And then you look at their personalities and all of them are just sad wet cats with parental issues and trauma. They just want friends and a sense of belonging. They play league of legends and want to buy cute clothes. They consider their group family because no one else will and you sit there and wonder how the fuck these are the most feared terrorists in all of Japan.

The Coraline movie and Sally Face are eerily similar and I love it like

- the protagonist has blue hair and pronouns and a dad with terrible posture

- the sidekick character knows all the lore, believes none of it, and has that Scoliosis Slouch(tm)

- Cat.

- the basic plot is “curious kid moves into a new apartment (or something similar), their parents don’t really care what they get up to, and so they proceed to make a really weird friend out of pure convenience and find out that ghosts are real and they’re being specifically targeted by some terrifying entity that takes on the form of people they know. Meanwhile their friend takes a hot minute to realize the protagonist is not actually crazy, or if they are, at least they aren’t a liar and the building really is extremely possessed. Also there’s a cat, and the cat is a little weird.”

- also there’s multiple super weird cryptic neighbors who are… rarely dressed, for some reason. One of them has a weirdly plot relevant connection to their pet.

So I’m still not used to drawing digitally cause I am a traditional artist

An AU with Mac as Pedro Pas- I mean- Joel, and Bai He is Ellie in a winter apocalypse

An AU where Mac brings Bai He to the bus stop for school everyday and takes care of her and grows closer to her

An Au where LMK is a live action show and all the characters are just actors and do silly blooper shenanigans together

A Whisper of the Heart AU where Mei is Shizuku, RedSon is Seiji, and Wukong is Nishi

An AU where it's literally just Monsters Inc but Wukong is Sulley, Nezha is Mike, MK is Boo, Mac is Randall (even tho I think Peng suits him better), PIF is Roz, and Azure is Waternoose

A Perfect Blue AU where MK is slowly disassociating between his monkey form and his actual self (I never did anything with it, it's just one of my favorite movies)

I fucking LOVE platonic RadioRose BUT I will be eternally bitter that their PLATONIC ship name isn't HappyMeal
