Obsessed with Neil Gaiman's new Tumblr bio
The Mitth are cold, stoic, and calm. They exude power and control, as emotionless as the ice flats of Csilla. They are stark uniforms, and blazing suns. Intense and they demand perfection. They are from the heart of the Acendancy, and often they consider themselves to be it's center. As one of the Nine they groom their young since birth, or adoption, to be the perfect example of what a Chiss should be: powerful, fearless, an unmovable pillar in the storm. And they certainly don't dance. Not unless the occasion permitted a sharp two step, two persons, arms poised to the side, one two three four, one two three four. It was controlled, it was routine.
The Kivu were different. Further from the core, the family hadn't even existed during the days of old. Small and humble, many would overlook the family. Rentor, a backwater planet, incapable of producing anything of cultural significance. Or so the greater families thought. And true, they were small and humble, living their lives away in small farming areas, preferring not to get mixed up in the political slights of the larger families. And to the outside world they would appear just as any other Chiss family might. But they danced.
Oh, they danced. And not the stiff steps of the higher Mitth, no it was light and jovial, underneath their planet's moon, their arms raised above them, swaying with the wind. Necklaces and bracelets of scales rattled on their bodies, and shook as they thumped their bare feet against the ground. Long skirts and dresses flared out as their wearers twirled and jumped. Streaks and flashes of colour, from scarves and hats, jewelry and shoes came from every direction. Men and women, children and adults, all joined in in the dance. Shaking their instruments and rattling their jewels. Each to their own beat, each expressing their own story and song. Each making their own art.
You could learn a lot about someone from watching them make art.
Their dance was embeded in their hearts, even years after being conditioned into the ways of the higher families, it would remain. Small scars on one's ears, lips, nose. One's steps a bit too light, a rhythm to their run, twirling batons with grace, treating the dojo as a dance floor.
Who would say anything if they saw through the cracks in a warships' doors, a young man swaying to his own song?
Crowley (drunk on a bar): sometimes I can't believe myself. I mean, I slithered here from Eden just to what? Hide outside his damned door?
Hozier (taking notes): tell me more...
Vurawn wondered often what his life would have looked like if he had taken the Mitth's proposal to be a merit adoptive all those years ago. At odds with the foul faced Syndic who had come to collect him? Surrounded by different friends than the ones he had now? On course for a successful military career? Certainly not here.
The Kivu were considered an obscure family by the majority of the rest of the Acendancy. As a Lesser Family, they had developed their own customs and traditions. They were more expressive than other Families, they valued art, each Kivu having their own favored medium. They grew up dancing and singing, it was uncommon for a Kivu not to be proficient in some instrument. They were an anomaly. A cultural hub in the midst of Rentor.
But what unsettled the other Families the most about the Kivu was their method for choosing their new Patriarch. While other Families elected their Patriarch democratically or the dying Patriarch chose their successor themselves, the Kivu title was passed down through blood. From Patriarch to their eldest child.
Vurawn had entered the military as a young male and had made it quite far for his time spent there and his Family name. Junior Captain. But he had other duties, and when news of his Patriarch's death reached him, he had to return to Rentor. He left his military career behind him.
And he found himself here. In a world where he was mentored by Thooraki himself, a brotherhood with a young Mitth, blossoming friendship with a sweet Syndic, a rivalry with a Prime. Ten ruling families instead of nine. A golden cape displaying his Family's symbol. And a title:
Patriarch Kivu'raw'nuru.
Thank you @ele-millennial-weirdo! I haven't been writing at all lately unless it's for my DnD campaign, I made a tiny blurb this morning so here's the last line of that.

"You don't have a mind."
Rules: in a new post, show the last line you wrote (or drew) and tag as many people as there are words (or however many you like)
Thanks for tagging me @myevilmouse 😍💙
Since my mind isn't able to focus on writing more than a bunch of words at the moment (sadly, no inspiration for that), all I can do is to show the last messy doodle I did last week...hopefully one of these days I'll be also able to finish something I'm really proud of (may the Force be with me, lol)
Here you are, another still unfinished Thryce sketch (your fics never cease to inspire me, thank you!!! 💙)
Tagging (no pressure) @vibratingbonesbis @oenothera5 @jlassijlali @aroayr-shuk @al-astakbar @twilekchiss
Could someone please draw this for me?
In the droid production facility on Mokivj...
Padmé: Hey, be safe
Anakin: Always
Outside in the ship...
Che'ri sarcastically: Cart ran'bin'he'ar (be safe)
Thrawn laughing: Ch'ah csarcican't cart cseo ran'bin'he'ar (I'll be so safe)
Proposal: The Kaminoans found Jango Fett to be a prime subject for cloning not only for his mental and physical prowess and training, but also because he was asexual and they wanted their army to not form relationships with civilians. They did not count on the fact that sexuality, much like M-count, cannot be replicated.
Thus leading to the abundance of hidden relationships formed throughout the clone ranks with Jedi, senators, and civies.
The thing is Thrawn knows the difference between right and wrong. He understands what constitutes as evil.
He also puts people in categories and deliberately ignores their personhood. Filing them into ally, enemy, or asset.
Does it pain him to hold people at arms length? Is this something he feels he must do, or does it come naturally?
Thrawn is the most complex "villain" star wars has ever seen. And in a universe that likes to paint people as black or white, good or bad, Sith or Jedi, Thrawn is a different animal entirely
Some portraits I painted as I’m reading the Thrawn Ascendancy books. Here’s how my brain manifested their characters looking like. Thanks Tim Zahn for the minimal descriptions so my brain can run wild
I will try to write a little thing soon, something naughty
Imagine being in a relationship with Thrawn and seeing Thurfian in secret, or vice versa. The Drama ✨ the scandal ✨the insolence ✨ he will shit talk all the time !
Oh gods yes.
I will try to write something as well, but the thought of actually writing what I want to read makes me gag. The work 🥲
😂 Oh but this is going to be so much fun.
Welcome, I have no consistency and will rant every few hours for weeks about a random topic and then not post for months 🙃
