I caved in and made a vessel oc, though they are more of shade than anything. I was reading @ashyronfire fic White & Gray and got intrigued by the concept of void beings inhabiting masks that aren't theirs and what resulted is this little guy called Face Theif.
I'm not completely satisfied with it since I feel the concept would benefit from creepy crawly energy rather than sad clown energy but I tried.
Made full model sheets for the first two to add to my portfolio
Quick oc sketches
If you're interested in dark retellings of fairytales you may be interested in this one, anyways here's some concept art for the short I forgot to upload:
And some cut content under the read more:
This shot of the film was rather frustrating, with it taking several days to animate only for me having to cut it last minute due to it disrupting the flow of the story.
Thankfully nothing else majour got cut other than this scene:
I also had to cut certain scenes in the storyboard stage (Note: always have at least your first storyboard be done quickly in pen, so if you have cut lots of it you won't have wasted your time) because they too disrupted the flow, e.g:
I finally finished my first animated short, it took the better part of a year, and I'm glad it's finally done.
Ah yeah of course
Here's Face Theif before they lost their face (the rest of their design is the same, their hood is just down)
Hey guys I am working on a little project and I was wondering if any of u would like their vessel oc to be in it? They gotta be in their tiny form though!
Pls reblog with a reference :>
Made some redesigns of this lovable quartet to track my progress. See, a while back I made a project involving these four which meant I had to draw them in my own art style, which was criticized for having the characters look too samey. I tried to diversify my character design since then and I like to think I at least improved a little ^-^
Old designs + plus some other stuff from 2021 under the cut:
Hornet's no good, very bad, horrible road trip.
