*the kitten purrs.* meow meow *he hops on the table and floats- HE'S FLOATING IN THE AIR!?!?!?*

°If there's such a thing as loud blinking, CJ is doing it. He's leaned back out of shock, not for the first time wishing he could just yell and get Jim over here. His eyes don't leave the kitten as he feels around his desk for the hand videocamera. He clicks it on and focuses it on the small cat.°

°Eyes and camera still trained on the cat, he gets up and slowly walks towards RJ.°

*CJ's shaking of RJ's shoulder drags him out of sleep, his startled reaction internal. He gives a bleary look around, confused and a little worried, but CJ points him in the direction of the kitten, the FLOATING kitten. It takes a second, but he pops out of bed, no sleep left in him, and stumbles only a little on the blankets in the process*

"Jim, please tell me you see this too"

°A slow nod. I don't know what's happening, Jim, but it's... Something.°

"I am both excited and very concerned"

°A valid reaction I think.°

"Well, welcome Mike!"

°I hope you enjoy your time here.°

*There are sounds of coffee being poured from the kitchen.*

"Hiya!"

°Oh- hello there!°

*RJ waves with a hand not occupied by a book.*

"Hi!"

*NJ gives a wave from the kitchen.*

CJ?? Are you alright?? Oh no this is such a mess... Where even is this place? -Neb

°he pushes himself up, wincing slightly but nodding°

°I don't know where this place is, or what it is, I-°

°his hands drop mid sentence, there's a look that crosses his face before he forces it into being neutral. It's pretty obvious though, a flash of helplessness. He just, he wants to sleep, but he has to get RJ, he has to save him.°

°...You could say that again, about it being a mess. I'll figure it out though, I won't give up.°

*the kitten lays next to him, careful not to scare him. both are scared*

°CJ shudders slightly in his curled up position, but he recognises the kitten's shape next to him. His side hurts, but nothing is broken he doesn't think. Where are they? He needs to get back, Jim is hurt and-°

°You didn't run? Snow Ears, are we both trapped?°

°Maybe CJ was starting to relax a little, maybe, as he sat here with a cat that was full of secrets and in a house with too many lights on, maybe he didn't feel as bad as he had at first. Maybe, slowly, he was convincing himself that traffic was bad and that RJ was a by-the-rules guy when it came to driving.°

°But somewhere he knew his brother would have texted at a red light, or if things were at a standstill he would have said something. Recent events might have drained his usual energy to a degree, but he knew his brother. He would have said something, right? Jim would be ok. He would be. And they were going to watch something soft when he got home, after cat stuff set up was done. There would be popcorn again and even if he couldn't use his telescope it would be just like their usual movie nights.°

°That reminds him, it's the last full moon of the 2010s tonight, maybe they could see it together, just briefly, before going back inside. Could show the cat too. It sounded nice to him, he just wished RJ would say something..°
