I am currently bouncing off the walls thinking about Spider forging his own path and creating his own family of misfits and outcasts, both Na'vi and human.
Instead of remaining caught between two worlds that refuse to fully claim him, Spider chooses to carve out his own spaceāhis own homeāamong outcasts who, like him, never fit into the structures of either the RDA or the Naāvi. These outsiders were either set aside or left.
Imagine this blue-striped human quietly slipping away one night, leaving behind Hellās Gate and the Omatikaya with nothing but a pack slung over his shoulder and a determined heart. He treks deep into the wilds of Pandora, following instincts honed from a past life, seeking others like himāthose abandoned, cast aside, or seeking something greater than survival under someone elseās thumb.
At first, itās only three of themāSpider, an ex-RDA scientist who defected, and a Naāvi warrior shunned by their clan for challenging tradition. Together, they build a home high in the mountains, tucked between floating cliffs and waterfalls where neither the RDA nor any hostile clan can reach them easily. They hunt, they craft, they surviveāand then they grow.
More come. A lone Naāvi mother with her child, fleeing persecution. A human engineer who sabotaged RDA equipment before running into the wilds. A pair of Naāvi twins whose father was an avatar and whose clan cast them out for it. Orphans. Runaways. The lost and forgotten.
Spider becomes their leader, not because he craves power, but because he understands their pain better than anyone. Together, they thrive and live free, far from the chaos of their past. They build something beautifulāa village woven into the mountains, suspended on bridges of vine and wood, with glowing bioluminescent lanterns lighting the bridges and paths at night. Their home hums with laughter, music, and the quiet, unshakable bond of a family built by choice rather than blood.
And when Spider finds orphaned human childrenāabandoned by war, unwanted by both sidesāhe takes them in. He raises them as his own, refusing to let another child endure the loneliness and rejection he once did.
By the time anyone realizes what heās done, his little village is no longer little. It is a thriving community of hundreds, a sanctuary for those without a place. The RDA cannot touch them. The Naāvi clans leave them be. Some fear them, some scoff at them. Othersāthose who have known suffering and lonelinessāseek them out, hoping to start anew. Eywa graces them all with her many blessings, and for the first time, Spider finally has a place to call home. And when the day comes that war reaches their doorstep, Spider stands at the front with his newfound family, no longer a boy without a home but a leader, a protector, a brother to those who were once lost like him.
he still hums it to this day when he remembers it and it gets stuck in his head.
My family has started calling my cat "the beast" which is very funny considering she's a 19yo arthritic old lady who needs help up and down the stairs. Not to mention she doesn't really meow any more, just sits and stares at you, and im the only one who can reliably guess what she wants, so my parents are constantly messaging me "The beast awakens... I know not what she desires š„š„" i feel like the chosen prophet of an eldritch god
the fact there is no mention of the boys he was raised with for their entire life (so close to a decade, based off of how old they look, the eldest of the two seeming around 10ish) is crazy work
and now with him knowing the RDA is going to be attacked from all sides (even if rightfully so)? that they're stuck with their father who will endanger children to get what he wants? that they're alone without his protection? that they are stuck on a planet where they may become victims of war and Na'vi rage, and he's not there to keep them safe?
he has to worry. he has to wonder where they are.
I wrote about this in one of my fics but iām obsessed with the idea that Tony uses technology to predict where the stars are, and wears sunglasses that illuminates the stars so that he can stargaze despite the light pollution in NYC.
and that Tony finds out Peterās vision was enhanced from the bite, such that he can easily see the stars through the light pollution.
And the two of them stargaze together on the roof of avengers tower
thinking about that one au I made back in sept 2024 where moāat adopts spider (part 1 here)
NOW Iām thinking of the sully kidsā roles here⦠been being torn between caring and play-insulting his friend or.. respecting his uncle????????? And TRUST Kiri is definitely abusing the uncle privileges now.
Jake: where the hell were you? You were gone for the entire dayā kiri: I was outā Jake: since dawn?! Kiri: well, I was with uncle spider, you said to bring a trustworthy elder with you! Jake: I meant people like Norm! Or Max! Kiri: *blows raspberries whilst walking away*
SPIDER is using his ārespect your elders/ uncleā card EVERYTIME on loāak whenever possible. He wouldnāt do that to tuk, though. Also finds it funny with neteyam confused on either calling him uncle spider or spider???
now that I think of it more.. more family gatherings of Moāat, Spider, and Neytiri. Someone (I donāt remember and I canāt find their repost) said that it would be hard for neytiri to get used to it since now sheās the elder sister, and not the youngest baby.. and I think YES.
itād be hard for neytiri to get used to itā maybe it even strains their already fragile relationship MORE but sometimes big sister instincts set in. At some point she starts⦠big sistering spider.
Iām imagining a family dinner with the sullies + Moāat and spider where they all are eating together, and neytiri notices spiders smaller bowl.
Moāat, having gotten used to the smaller portions the boy always took always accepted it since Sky people have notoriously smaller stomachs than them. Neytiri, who most of her time catering to her family and not spending as much as she used to with her mother and spider is ⦠odded out.
spider had always eaten with them, not always ofcourse, just the average once in awhile. And it was only for a short time as he never overstayed his welcome and she never really cared to see how much he was really eating. But now? After months of family bonding days brought on by moāat (which was always painfully awkward between spider and neytiri)? Yeah, that isnāt gonna slide. Thatās too little.
she rips off a bit of the meat from her bowl and throws it into spiders.
Jake freezes, wondering if he accidentally sniffed some pandoran weed in the air or is actually seeing what heās seeing. Spider also freezes but quickly goes back to eating after glancing up to an unbothered Neytiri too busy digging into her own food. Moāat simply smiles from where she sits. The rest of the sully children just view it as an average dinner.
