ES|| Mi conejito de pascua en cambio de ir a buscar huevos se ha ido a ver las estrellas de cerca! Os imagináis un mundo donde los conejos pudiesen construir sus naves aeroespaciales, ser astronautas y ir a charlar con los planetas? Sus cascos tendrían que ser gigantes para poder albergar sus largas orejas! 

EN || Instead of looking for eggs, my Easter bunny has gone to see the stars up close! Can you imagine a world where rabbits could build their own spaceships, be astronauts and go have a chat with the planets? Their helmets would have to be gigantic to accommodate their long ears!

ES || Sigo con la cuenta atrás con un dragoncito confinado. 2020 fue un año muy extraño, muchas cosas desaparecieron o se reinventaron y una de ellas fue el Sant Jordi. Pero el hecho de no poder salir a las calles no detuvo a nuestra protagonista que pidió libros a las librerías de confianza del barrio para poderlos ir a buscar cuando fuera seguro y con un tazón de infusión de hierbas curativas se puso a releer sus libros preferidos acompañada de su eterno y fiel compañero, un precioso rosal.🌹🐉 EN || I continue the countdown to Sant Jordi with a confined little dragon. 2020 was a very strange year, many things disappeared or were reinvented and one of them was Sant Jordi. But the fact of not being able to go out on the streets didn’t stop our protagonist who asked for books from the neighborhood's trusted bookstores so she could pick them up when it was safe, and with a large cup of healing herbs infusion, she began to reread her favorite books accompanied by her eternal and faithful companion, a beautiful rosebush.🌹🐉

Este año he reinterpretado el árbol de navidad del año pasado! Creo que el árbol ha quedado un poco más dinámico con sus ramas-brazo. Además, esta vez he diseñado dos versiones porque cuando ya tenía acabada la versión de las letras pensé que sería divertida una versión con más animalitos.🐰❄️

This year I have reinterpreted last year's Christmas tree! I think the tree has become a bit more dynamic with its arm-branches. Also, this time I have designed two versions because when I had already finished the version with the letters, I thought it would be so much fun to have a version with more animals.🐰❄️

EN|| Sharks are one of the most endangered animals on planet Earth, it’s estimated that in the last 50 years their population has been reduced by 70%. There’re 17 different species of shark in danger of extinction, like this one in the illustration, the Carcharias Taurus. This problem is especially significant in the Atlantic where fishing fleets can deploy 1,200 km of fishing lines with 28,000 hooks where all kinds of animals are trapped, especially sharks. Furthermore there’s also the indiscriminate fishing of the babys, which, taking into account that most shark species are characterized by having a low reproductive rate, a slow growth rate and late sexual maturation, makes it impossible for sharks to overcome their population decline, making them very susceptible to overfishing. On the other hand, climate change also affects sharks, the water temperature is increasing, the oxygen content of the water is decreasing, especially in coastal areas, and the waters are becoming more acidic. One of the main reasons why protection measures have not been put in place for these species is because the shark meat market has many economic interests, since it’s used for cosmetics, nutrition products and food. Sharks, due to their importance in the food chain, play a fundamental role in the sustainability of marine life and in the ability of these ecosystems to mitigate and adapt to climate change. ES|| Los tiburones son uno de los animales más amenazados del planeta Tierra, se calcula que en los últimos 50 años su población se ha reducido un 70%. Hay 17 especies distintas de tiburón en peligro de extinción, como este de la ilustración, el Carcharias Taurus, también llamado tiburón Toro o “Solraig clapejat” en catalán. Este problema es especialmente significativo en el Atlántico donde la flotas pesqueras pueden llegar a desplegar 1.200 km de líneas de pesca con 28.000 anzuelos donde quedan atrapados todo tipo de animales, sobretodo tiburones. A todo esto se le añade la pesca indiscriminada de crías, que teniendo en cuenta que la mayoría de especies de tiburón se caracterizan por tener una baja reproductividad, una tasa de crecimiento lenta y una maduración sexual tardía, hace imposible que los tiburones se sobrepongan al declive de su población haciéndolos muy susceptibles a la sobrepesca. Por otro lado el cambio climático también afecta a los tiburones, la temperatura del agua esta aumentando, el contenido de oxigeno del agua esta disminuyendo sobretodo en las zonas costeras y las aguas se están acidificando. Uno de los principales motivos por los que no se han creado medidas de protección para estas especies es porque el mercado de la carne de tiburón mueve muchos intereses económicos, ya que se usa para cosméticos, productos de nutrición y para alimentación. Los tiburones, debido a su importancia en la cadena trófica, tienen un papel fundamental en la sostenibilidad de la vida marina y en la capacidad de estos ecosistemas para mitigar y adaptarse al cambio climático. ES || Hoy os traigo una idea genial para los y las más pequeñitas de las casa, genial para amenizar estos días de calor tan sumamente intenso: un libro mágico de baño! Aunque aún no tengo las muestras y no os lo puedo enseñar, en su interior encontrareis diferentes animalitos con los colores del arco iris, pero “sorpresa!” su color solo aparecerá si los mojas!! Es una súper divertida manera de descubrir y experimentar los colores! La verdad es que ha quedado monísimo! Que ganas que tengo de tenerlo entre mis manos y hundirlo en el agua… Si os gusta ya podéis encontrarlo en vuestras librerías de confianza, en amazon, la casa del libro y sitios similares. Espero que paséis bien estos días de calor, hidrataros mucho, comed frutas (los que podéis) y pensad en los osos polares cuando dudéis si es necesario el aire acondicionado! BALLENAS DE PLÁSTICO || PLASTIC WHALES || BALENES DE PLÀSTIC (2019)

ESP || Este pasado 8 de Junio fue el día mundial de los océanos y la semana del boicot al plástico, un gesto necesario que se tendría que llevar a nuestro día a día, reducir el consumo de plástico. Una semana al año no es suficiente para la salud del planeta tierra y sobretodo para salvar la vida marina. Cada año hasta 12 millones de toneladas de basura, llegan a los océanos y mares donde los plásticos representan entre un  60% i un 80% de los residuos marinos. Todos estos plásticos perjudican seriamente la salud de los ecosistemas acuáticos y la supervivencia de las especies que los pueblan. Particularmente perjudiciales son los microplasticos (fragmentos inferiores a 5mm) que se pueden generar a partir de la rotura de trozos grandes de plásticos, como los generados con el desgaste de las camisetas, o haber sido fabricados directamente así, como en el caso de las microesferas presentes en productos de higiene y limpieza (exfoliantes, pasta de dientes, etc.), ya que al ser ingeridos por los animales marinos provocan bloqueos gastrointestinales y alternaciones en sus patrones de reproducción y alimentación. Además hay estudios que evidencian que estos microplasticos se van transfiriendo a lo largo de la cadena alimentaria. Entre un 21% y un 54% de estas partículas en el mundo se encuentran en la cuenca del mar Mediterráneo. Por otro lado, los macroplasticos (fragmentos mayores de 25mm) como bolsas de plástico, redes de pesca, botellas, etc. También impactan la vida marina incluyendo los mamíferos marines, las aves marinas y la fauna sésil (corales), ya que son causantes de enredos, asfixia, estrangulación y malnutrición. Es destacable que, aproximadamente, un 17% de las especies que ingieren o se enredan con desechos marinos aparecen en la lista roja de especies amenazadas de la unión internacional para la conservación de la naturaleza.
