you may have answered this already but if you’re willing would you mind sharing some fantasy high fanfiction recommendations? it doesn’t really matter which ship or even if there’s a ship at all! i just really like st judas and it’s made me hungry for more fh fics

for sure!! i feel like i did an ask abt this back before d20 had an ao3 tag, but i cant find it anywhere & its been a while & i always want to spread the Good Good word of my fav fh fics

oh would you be so kind is a fig/ayda and the most recent on this list, but it ABSOLUTELY blew me away with how soft & sincere & real it felt. the author ended the fic with the statement “figayda will be canon, i’m speaking it into existence” and by fucking god they sure DID (edit: this is by @galfast!)

i KNOW ive said this one before, but @c-kaster ’s character studies are some of my favorite fanfics Ever. the themes…the characterization…….the Allegories……………ive waxed poetic on them very recently the long and short is theyre Good and you should Read Them. no particular ship focus (though theres a few w/ implied fabriz), and the focus drifts between characters depending on which fic.

build me up buttercup is a VERY cute feel-good fabriz fic that is basically A Romcom In Writing and it is one of the fics ive had the most Fun reading in a long time

pirates and prototypes is another fabriz fic, this one by @the-flail-snail! its a scifi au feat. riz as a Space Detective and fabian as a Space Detective. it started out as just some fun shipping, but about halfway through flail really starts to push against a plot, and oh boy, it is a GOOD PLOT.

i have only read one of @potatoesandsunshine‘s fics, hear tomorrow singing from around the bend, but 1. that fic is FANTASTIC 2. as soon as i have time i am very VERY exciting to read the rest that they’ve posted - esp their trackerbees wild west au, which looks so, SO good. the flow of imagery in their writing is Truly something to behold, and im very excited to read more

maul the world by @aberfaeth is an I N C R E D I B L E aelwen redemption fic that is short but so SO very good & sad & in character & meaningful. aelwen and adaine’s relationships is so messy, and this fic handles it so well

@thesleepiestsheepy is another one of those authors who i wholeheartedly recommend checking out the full backlog of, but in particular, healing without magic was one of the first ao3 fics for fantasy high, and it set the bar SO high for everyone else. i remember absolutely losing my shit when i saw it update after the liveshow got announced because i was so excited at the prospect of reading more. ABSOLUTE must-read
