Stanley is desperately gripping unto the narrator (Black), pulling him closer to him, but the narrator (Black) didn't even look like he was struggling, smiling as he let Stanley pull him closer, or maybe enjoying the tears the fell on Stanley's face.

The last panel shows them holding hands, tears falling right besides their intertwined fingers.
