Thanks to severe OCD and PTSD, I’m often stuck in my own head with a bunch of intrusive and obsessive nonsense. I came up with a perpetual banishing and transmutation spell to help process and deal with unwanted thoughts.
The Banishing Bin functions somewhat like a computer’s recycle bin:
write unwanted thought/feeling on a sticky note or piece of small paper
draw banishing/transmutation sigil over words
fold up paper and throw in banishing bin
burn/rip/trash them during the waning crescent or dark moon
This is a great spell if you’re a spoonie or not open about your craft. It’s fairly easy to perform and store without raising eyebrows (it literally just sits on my bookcase unsuspiciously). I found the mini trashcan at a local discount store for a couple dollars. The cheapest one I can find online can be purchased from Amazon here, but you can use any container you like as a bin. If you don’t have a banishing sigil you’re already working with, feel free to use mine.
New sigil, guys! It’s for protection against evil spirits, because as Samhain approaches… well, the spirits are out and about. Also the pendulum readings are back open! -T

Hello my greenies! As most of you know I am always inspired by Studio Ghibli and I am going to do a series dedicated to it’s magical gifts. For this one I am going to use the Susuwatari or “traveling soot.”
This spell is to thank the old and welcome the new. Moving or receiving something old can be tricky, since some spirits can take offense or are spooked by the aspect of someone coming in and changing things around. This spell can be performed for anything really. It could be for a house, a box, an old broom, or even an old clock. It is just thanking the object/spirits for taking care of the object and asking for them to allow/accept you to use it now.
Ingredients
small cup of blueberries
white or yellow candle
small glass of room temperature water
water bottle cap of thick sprinkles (or something similar to the size)
three dark colored rocks - no shine
washcloth
Directions
Place the object (if you have one) in front of you with a good amount of space between you.
Then place the blueberries and sprinkles in the space between the object in you, but right behind the object. If you do not have an object, just place it in front of you with plenty of room between you.
Place the three dark colored rocks behind the blueberries and sprinkles in an arrow like position.
Then place the candle in front of you and the cup of water next to you.
Light the candle and begin an 8 minute meditation. Focus on the object and/or the spirit you wish to thank and ask for this object. Make sure your intentions are clear, you are going to be using this object and although it might belong and be changing, it doesn’t take away the memories or the meaning it had before you decided to use it. Feel free to say a chant, I will leave one at the bottom of this post.
As you meditate, take the washcloth and put some water on it. Try not to spill. Only dampen the cloth and wipe your hands and arms with the cloth slowly.
After 8 minutes, blow out the candle. Make sure the candle is stable and all blown out and then keep everything in the room and leave for 30 minutes. Do not go back into the room, unless it is an emergency.
After 30 minutes, go back into the room and thank them again. Depending on your belief, you can decide to bow or not. Then take the blueberries, sprinkles, rocks, and water outside. (You can reuse the rocks and store them in a place for another use.) Place them or burry them. Make sure they are placed well before you leave. If you have water remaining, sprinkle it on them and you are finished with the ritual.
Chant
“Just as the tree grows more leaves after the fall of winter, pass this new journey and new life into my hands. Please accept my offering and allow me to love and take care of the (object, house, etc.).”
I hope you enjoy this ritual and look forward to this series. I hope I can continue to share my love and knowledge with you all.

Ideas for practicing divination while bedridden: Varying in energy + mobility required - please don’t push yourself, hopefully there’s options for everyone! Quick note: I’ve only included forms of divination I personally do.
Sleep with the deck under your pillow.
Do a two-card (or more!) spread - you don’t have to lay it out if you can’t sit up, you can hold them in your hand or place on your lap.
Pick one card that represents what you want from the next day and slip it under your pillow or mattress for the night.
Play around with a tarot app (I like the products from Labyrinthos but there’s loads out there.)
Memorize the meanings of the cards.
Make or buy a mini deck for easier use.
Do the easy “find this card and whatever is above or below it =X” spreads.
Use a black mirror or picture frame with black cloth/paper behind it.
Get a mini scrying bowl and fill with water, cradle it in your hands.
Wear it around your neck.
Shorten the string so you don’t have to sit up.
Prop your hand on a pillow if you need the strength/steadiness.
Use off of the side of your bed if it’s too long (this can be a bit awkward)
Keep it under your pillow.
Use a mini pendulum or a necklace as a pendulum.
Make a simple board or don’t use one at all, just condition your pendulum with basic movements.
*You CAN use a pendulum even with shaky hands, it just takes a bit of bonding and conditioning.*
Get a mug with two handles.
Keep in a sealable container until you’re ready.
Put a towel over yourself in case you spill.
Use a Tupperware container. No shame.

Oneiromancy - Interpretation of dreams in order to predict future.
Stitchomancy - Get a book. Ask question, then open book to random page and read what pops out to you.
This awesome post
Note: I didn’t include runes because I don’t use them! I’d love to see an addition with runes.

My husband gave me permission to share a picture of this special offering vessel that he made to propitiate his Kiln Spirit when working on ceramics.
I love it SO much.
