I got a LOT of these from @afledglings-guideto-witchcraft when they answered an ask I sent in, that blog is a fantastic place for information whether you've been practicing a few days or a few years imo.
I've been posting a lot about trying to find information on this subject and now I've gotten a good list compiled in a google doc and figured I'd share it with y'all, feel free to add on your own notes or just any commentary you have or experiences you've had using certain ingredients. I'm using some of these to make a hex jar to try and help a friend out with a shitty abusive household, which I might post more about if y'all would be interested in it, or if I just feel up to it.

Don't ever let anyone tell you you are a bad person or you're going to get hurt if you practice baneful magic at all no matter what. The threefold law is a rule that Wiccans follow, no one else is obligated to believe in it, I respect people who believe in it and they should respect people who don't. Always make sure to judge a situation very carefully and use this magic appropriately.
And, very very important, research on how to protect yourself from a spell backfiring (because you can get hurt), make sure that your intention is very focused on your specific target(s), and, if you're doing something similar to what I'm doing, do something (protection jars, spells, etc) to protect other people around this person or people from the effects of the jinx, hex, or curse. Oh and if you're casting a spell on someone else who practices witchcraft, make sure you know the signs if they deflect the spell back onto you and try and do what you can to prevent that from happening.

Hey all! I’m still very much a newbie, but this has quickly become my fave to do and has helped me SO MUCH in this past month. Careful not to overdo it- when I was perfecting it I did it three days in a row and had unusual amounts of energy for days!
What you’ll need:
- coffee cone and filter
- your favorite coffee
-hot water (just finished boiling)
- your favorite coffee mug
Prep your cone, filter, and coffee while the water comes to a boil. I like to use ¼ cup grounds for two cups of coffee, but feel free to use it to taste. This would also be the time to add any spices or herbs you want to the coffee grounds if you’re really needing some extra kick. You should also be solidifying your goals for the day during this time. One goal for mental energy, one goal for physical energy, and one for mental energy. (This can be the same goal.) The more specific the goal, the better the spell works. Once the water has stopped boiling, pour it semi-slowly into your coffee grounds. Think or say aloud “Give me the mental energy to complete (task.) Give me the physical energy to complete (task.) Give me the strength to complete (task.)” Repeat this until you have filled the cone with water. While the coffee drips into your mug, place your hands at the base of the cone (careful, it may be hot!) and repeat the above mantra a minimum of three times, until all the water has drained out of the cone and into your mug. As you are doing this, notice the way the steam curls and smells and the way the grounds shrink as the coffee water drips into the mug. For greatest effect, drink the coffee while you begin working on one of your goals. Otherwise, consume as you usually would.
Happy productivity!
I've been having some issues with my self-esteem lately and I've been meaning to start writing my own spells, so I thought this would be a perfect place to start.
Himalayan pink salt - protection
Chilli - protection, self-love
Cinnamon stick - protection, healing
Cumin - protection, self-love
Coriander - protection, self-love, healing
Rosemary - protection, self-love, inner strength
A jar
Incense - cleansing
Rose quartz - self-love
Pink cord
White/pink candle
Start by cleansing your jar and sacred space (can be done through various methods, I choose to use incense).
Add the salt, herbs, spices, and the crystal to the jar, making sure your intentions are clear.
Tie a pink cord around the neck of the jar before putting the lid on. I added a charm that says "just for you" to make sure the spell is directed at myself (I'm also just really vibing with charms rn).
Seal the jar with wax from a pink or white candle.
Casting your first spell is an enchanting and empowering moment on your witchcraft journey. It's an act of manifesting your intentions and connecting with the magic that resides within and around you. Whether you're a beginner or simply looking for a refresher, this step-by-step guide will help you cast your first spell with safety, intention, and ethical considerations in mind.
🕯️🌟✨
Step 1: Set Your Intention 🌌🔮
Begin by clarifying your intention. What do you wish to achieve with your spell? Be specific and ensure your intention aligns with your highest good and the greater good of all involved. Remember the ethical guideline: "An it harm none, do what ye will."
Step 2: Choose Your Tools 🌿🕯️
Select tools that correspond to your intention. For a simple spell, a colored candle, crystals, and herbs that match your purpose are often sufficient. For example, a green candle for prosperity or rose quartz for love.
Step 3: Create Sacred Space 🌟🏞️
Find a quiet and undisturbed space for your spell. You can cast your spell indoors or outdoors, but ensure you feel safe and comfortable. Light the candle and, if desired, cast a protective circle to create a sacred space.
Step 4: Ground and Center 🌳🌠
Ground yourself by visualizing roots extending from your body into the Earth. Center your energy by focusing on your breath and releasing any tension or distraction. Feel connected to the Earth and the universe.
Step 5: State Your Intention Aloud 🗣️📜
Speak your intention aloud with confidence and sincerity. You can use a chant, a rhyme, or simply state your intention clearly and concisely. This vocalization empowers your intention with your voice and energy.
Step 6: Visualization 🌈🌌
Close your eyes and visualize your intention manifesting. Feel the emotions associated with your desire as if it's happening right now. See it clearly in your mind's eye and believe that it's already on its way to you.
Step 7: Focus Your Energy 🧙♀️💫
Hold your chosen tools and focus your energy on your intention. Imagine the energy flowing from your body into the tools, charging them with your purpose. Feel the power within you.
Step 8: Release the Energy 🌬️🔥
When you sense that the energy is at its peak, release it into the universe. Blow out the candle if you've used one, or simply release your energy into the cosmos, trusting that it will work on your behalf.
Step 9: Express Gratitude 🙏🌸
Thank the universe, your deities, or any spiritual guides you work with for their assistance. Gratitude enhances the flow of positive energy in your life.
Step 10: Close the Circle (if applicable) 🌀🌕
If you cast a circle, release it by thanking the elements and spirits for their presence and assistance. Imagine the energy of the circle dissipating.
Step 11: Release Attachment and Trust 🕊️🌠
Release any attachment to the outcome of your spell. Trust that the universe is working to manifest your intention in the right way and at the right time.
🕯️🌟✨
Remember that spellwork is a practice, and like any skill, it improves with time and dedication. Approach your craft with respect for yourself and the world around you, and may your spells be a source of positive transformation in your life.
Casting your first spell is a beautiful milestone on your magical journey. Embrace the magic within you, and may it bring you growth, joy, and a deeper connection to the mysteries of the universe.
a small self-love jar i made for my friend
ingredients: cinnamon, sugar, dry pink rose petals, oak bark dust (for protection), ashes of self-love sigil, a bit of rose water and pink candle for sealing everything 🌸💕
Inspired by and incorporates an old Irish curse
“May those who love us, love us, And those who don’t, May [God] turn their hearts And if not their hearts, may [he] turn their ankles so we’ll know them by their limping”
Inventory: - salt - lemon juice - black pepper - red pepper - 2 paper - red marker - black string - tinted, dark bottle - sigil form of the curse
To Do:
Draw curse sigil on paper with red marker. Recite curse throughout spell, inserting the name of your own god if wanted. Fold sigil up tight as it will go, then unfold once into a bowl/crevice shape. Place paper into a bowl of salt. Sprinkle black and red pepper into paper. Burn sigil paper down to ash, still reciting curse. Once paper is burned, pour salt and every single piece of the paper into bottle. Prepare second piece of paper by lightly soaking in lemon juice until slightly moldable. Form paper into a cap for the bottle and tie down paper with string. Place in a hidden, dark place in a room that people pass through often. Turn in a counterclockwise circle once a week.
Cleanse your work area thoroughly after you’ve hidden the bottle.
Sometimes, those you care about are having a rough time. And you want to help! It’s natural to want to use what you know to help others. Here’s a spell I use to do just that.
What You Need:
turquoise
amethyst
lavender
rose petals
red candle
Now, set it all up. Candle in the middle, I sprinkled the lavender and rose petals around said candle. The lavender is to help soothe my particular person’s deep sadness, while the rose petals symbolize my love for them.
I held the amethyst in one hand, for protection and clearing mind clutter, allowing for clarity and healing. Turquoise for another type of protection, more physical. Both to help clear the person’s mind and aid them.
Then, I focused. Focused on how much I cared for the person, how much they meant to me, times we’d had in the past that meant so much to me. I thought of how my strength was given to them and how I wanted them to be better and safer and feel loved.
After a little while of this, I bottle the exact lavender and rose petals I used to give to the person at a later date!
Whether it is black salt, sea salt, pink salt or just plain old. Salt has a long history of use in rituals, purification, blessings and magical protection. Salt is created and thrives in the Ocean (or the Womb of the Goddess) It is the taste of Earth in the waters of life. salt is a amazing and versatile natural source for cleansing, and is a must have for anyone.
Regular Sea Salt - sea salt is overall very common, easy to obtain and affordable. It can be bought in either course chunks or fine like sand. White salt is associated with purification, purity, protection and blessings.

Can be made into salt scrubs
Celtic Sea Salt- is a “moist” unrefined sea salt that is usually found on the coastal areas of France. It has a gorgeous light grey, almost light purple color; it is harvested from the clay found in salt flats. This salt has similar properties to regular sea salt however because it is a much more natural and pure salt its properties are enhanced especially protective and cleansing. It also tastes amazing and is filled with vital minerals, I also find that since it is moist it clumps together nicely making it easy to work with and shape.

Black Salt- black salt is as the title says black or very dark in color. It is commonly available at magic shops, and is also very easy to make. Not to be confused with black lava salt or kala namak salts used in fine cuisine.RITUAL BLACK SALT IS NOT FOR CONSUMPTION!!!. This salt is easily the most protective of the four as it is great at Nullifying or returning negative energy.

Himalayan Pink Salt- is a pure, hand mined salt that is from the foothills of the Himalayan Mountains. It is harvested from ancient sea salt deposits, it thought to be one of the highest quality and purest salts available. The salt ranges in hues from white to various shades of pink, and even deep reds; this is the result of the salts high iron and mineralcontent. This salt has the most soothing and loving energizes of the salts and can be used for bringing about love.

If working with salt keep in mind that it is a natural dessicating agent meaning it sucks all the water so if your working with it outside and are sprinkling it on the ground it will kill your grass and destroy the surrounding soil making it inhabitable for plants and such.
Three new bath salts! Put about ¼ cup into a warm bath to help manifest energy and positive thinking. Enjoy for relaxation, purification, and meditation.
