This was a quick and dirty test but, it was the best I could do. 2D VFX is really hard if you don't want to draw every frame and you don't know how to use shader graph shiz and whatever. I hope I can do better in the future, but uh technically I'm future me and I haven't touched VFX since...
I decided to stop tweaking the look and actually start putting it into the game. Exporting assets is a lot of work so I just kinda put placeholders in...
That I will probably redesign since I want to redesign the pause menu...
^ popups for damage context
^ new status effect badges (used to be just text) still wip
^banter boxes... suppose to give room for side comments in a way, might still be annoying to the player
^ side box for less important dialogue, maybe ill have it come out of the speaker like cross code
Today I announced (among other things) that my new game Castaway is gonna be released on PC & Consoles in 2024!
Here’s the video with me talking in French, but English subtitles are available!
While you can do some light management in other places, this is a menu dedicated to tweaking your party. The design was inspired by Final Fantasy Tactics and it works for the most part haha. It's been a while since I posted! This game has a Steam page now which you can find here -> https://store.steampowered.com/app/3163190
Made this invisible trigger to move the camera around. All it does is tell my camera to focus on a new position and has settings to create a new focus point between the player and a defined position around the trigger. The transition could use some work tho haha.
Still incomplete but now I can look at the items I have without using the debug console.
cool system that lets you survive with 1 hp when you really should've died if you have a high-luck stat. also healing is in. it's bog simple stuff but I literally do not know how to code I am a master at programming.
A blog for a game about a rather peculiar exam. Made in Godot Engine!
