Most unhinged moment in TWST Wonderland that made you go:
I love this game.
can I just say the entire front half of episode 7 chapter 8, because everything about it was BONKERS in the most absolutely delightful way. genuinely this might have been the funniest single update yet. we got Idia's directorial debut! big stronk Epel! and. just. gestures to the entirety of SavanaRook. (then Vil went into a spiral of murdering people that culminated in punching the manifestation of his own insecurity in the face, and that was good in an entirely different kind of way, but I digress)
if I have to pick one though, I'm gonna go with Idia's video, because 1) adorable, 2) seriously just look at it, and 3) I did legit have to replay that subchapter on account of laughing over most of it the first time. truly Idia is the artistic genius of our generation.
A fun question your opinion: In each arc, what do you think is the theme of each arc? ( It can be a motif, messages, subject)
These are a mix of jokes and serious thoughts ^^ just to avoid the post from being too heavy overall!
The Rose-Red Tyrant:
Breaking free from perpetuating a cycle of abuse
You are your own person, not a puppet controlled by your parent/guardian
Control that is too constrictive will only push away potential connections and experiences, keeping you isolated and complacent
Anger management classes are good for you, guys
The Usurper from the Wilds:
Letâs play fairly and be good sports!
Judging people for their merits rather than by titles or birth
What makes someone worthy to lead is noble behavior and attiude
Standing up for whatâs morally right, even if everyone else seems to be against you
You have value, worth, and hope in spite of what others may tell you and out you down for
Itâs totally okay to get revenge on the asshole that tripped you that one time/j
Itâs technically not a crime if you donât get caught (except Leona did, in fact, get caught)
The Merchant from the Depths:
Donât be ashamed of your past selfâembrace it, accept it, and use it as a point of reference for self growth
Be the bigger person rather than becoming a bully yourself
Let your accomplishments speak for themselves
There is no âeasy way outâ or shortcut; be prepared to face the consequences of your actions
Not everything is as it may seem (think about the âtrickâ with Azulâs contracts)
⊠Read the terms and conditions very carefully and think things over before you sign a contract đ
Schemer of the Scalding Sands:
Wow, this baby can fit so much generational trauma!!
Sometimes you just miss each otherâs messages or greatly misinterpret the otherâs intentions (Kalim giving Jamil the benefit of the doubt, Jamil obviously being the Bad Guy and everyone else has to point that out to Kalim)
Thereâs a very complicated relationship between those in power and those without power; this can breed hatred for those at the top
Talent and skill left unacknowledged can fester into resentment
Institutions of higher education can and will accept monetary bribes, what are you gonna do about it?
Not everyone wants to reconcile and make friends; this is okay and should be more normalized
A Beautiful Tyrant:
You can try your best and work hard, but life doesnât owe you anything (depressing thought, but unfortunately true)
Beauty is not limited to just oneâs looks; beauty can also extend to oneâs character and actions
Your worth shouldnât come from external forces; if you are satisfied with yourself, you will always be âbeautifulâ no matter how you look or what losses you may experience
Public opinion and the entertainment industry are brutal af
Screw gender norms đ€
The Watchman of the Underworld:
The grieving process in general
Moving on from the past instead of fixating on it and letting the past consume your present and hold you back from a future
Learning to forgive yourself
Reaching out and making new support systems/opening up to others to help you cope
Bearing the sins of your ancestors (Shroud family curse)
The Lord of Malevolence:
Change is inevitable, all good things must come to an end; we must learn to accept them and bravely move toward the future
Love endures, transcending race (Sebek), blood (Silver), and time (Lilia)
Self-sacrificial love (Maleanor for Malleus, Lilia for the other Diasomnia boys, Dawn Knight for his own family, etc.)
Is it âtrueâ happiness if it is a fake reality, a convenient dream?
We hate and fear what we do not understand, even though we have the capacity to
You cannot live forever in a happy fantasy world where none of your loved ones/favorite characters leave you; sooner or later, you must âwake upâ and face reality (this point is particularly meta; it applies both in-game and in the real world, speaking to us players and our relationship with the fictional content we consume)
Prologue: Welcome to the Villainsâ World and Overall Main Story:
The power of friendship :))
Revisionist history (cuz⊠yâknow⊠Great Seven and all)
Weâre stronger together than alone
Itâs okay to rely on others
We may be very different people from very different backgrounds, but it is still possible for us to understand one another
Same energy-
An human rights worker named Reina Mae Nasino was jailed and wrongfully accused for owning firearms. She was pregnant by the time she was jailed and gave birth in prison.
At this point, Reina Mae Nasino wasnât given proper care in prison and was only given one medical visit. Reina gave birth to a girl named River but the lack of prenatal care caused the child to have a low weight and skin discoloration. Nasino also had difficulty breastfeeding her and wasnât getting any assistance for her child. The counsels asked for the baby to be transferred to a hospital for her care but it was denied by the court.
On October 9, River died due to acute respiratory distress syndrome. She was only 3 months old.
Reina Mae Nasino was supposed to have 3 days to say goodbye but the Court Judge revised it and made it 6 hours, 3 hours for the wake and 3 hours for the funeral. She wasnât allowed a peaceful grieving as dozens of police and jail guards swarmed the area. On October 14, Reina Mae attended Riverâs wake in full PPE and handcuffs, surrounded by guards because she was labelled a high profile criminal. The guards tried to cut her time with her child short as they tried to drag her away 2 hours before the visiting time was up. She was also not allowed to take off her handcuffs.
October 16, the day River was to be buried. The funeral wasnât peaceful or respectful as the police swarmed and guarded the area. The car carrying River sped to the cemetery, not giving time for her family and supporters to catch up. The relatives begged on their knees for the guards to remove Reinaâs handcuffs so she can hold her child one last time but they refused.
She wasnât allowed a peaceful goodbye to her child.
She never even heard her child laugh once.
Reina Mae Nasino is not a criminal. She is a political prisoner and an activist who was treated terribly by the police and the justice system.
They killed her child.
There are over 600+ political prisoners like her in the Philippines that are subject to inhumane treatment due to the Duterte Administration and its disregard for the poor and disenfranchised. Baby River is not the only child who died due to the lack of care by the government.
Activists in the Philippines are getting killed, red tagged and treated as terrorists.
Do not ignore this. We need to be heard.
Obey Me Nightbringer Lesson 9 Spoilers! Rambling about this one thing about the new character and their connection to MC
Aight so I just finished all of the available lessons in Nightbringer and I just wanted to point something out. Not very in-depth or eloquent, nor do I have much to say, really, but I just thought this was worth noting.
So we get the game's namedrop in Lesson 9 (putting aside that one scene where Solomon says Obey Me!) when Adam tells us about the demon "Nightbringer".
Now, since we can assume that "Nightbringer" is just an alias, we have reason to think that there's a reason for it other than "Whee hee hee I'm shrouded in darkness, so call me 'Nightbringer'." We can also be confident that "Nightbringer" is the person who dragged MC back to the past. Adam was pretty adamant about MC being the person "Nightbringer" was talking about.
"Nightbringer" knows a lot about MC. Seeing that other than the main cast + Michael and Raphael(?), nobody should really know that MC is in possession of the Ring of Light.
Now, in Nightbringer, MC still has some power over the past version of the brothers. They're still capable of commanding them to stop in one of the earlier lessons despite not having a pact with them. We also see them manage to cast small-ish, simple spells every once in a while. In Lesson 9, however, we see MC bring out Lucifer's Ring of Light for the first time in NB to draw power from the demon brothers who were with them in the Mausoleum to open a portal to the Celestial Realm for Adam to ascend.
(not them brushing it offđ)
Apparently, "Nightbringer" could know more about MC and what they could be capable of.
From what I can remember, we haven't really seen MC wield the power of angels. We know that MC can wield the power of demons they have pacts with, but the power of angels? This is me going with the understanding that "wield" means "to use" in the sense that MC is harnessing the power of angels like with demon pact-mates, and not, like, cast angel magic themself. But then again, I am unable to think of instances where MC casts angel magic specifically (if angel-specific magic is canonically a thing).
What I find especially interesting about this is the timing of the introduction of "Nightbringer" and the use of the Ring of Light. Earlier this year, Obey Me! partnered with U-Treasure and made merch of Lucifer's Ring of Light. It's never mentioned in the games (I could be wrong and forgetting if they actually do mention it), but one special feature of the ring merch was the engraved message on the inside of the ring.
"Blessed be the bringer of light."
It was Lucifer's ring as an angel with the meaning of his name and all, but this also applies to MC. They brought light to the lives of the seven brothers in the first game, and they're doing it again in Nightbringer. Freshly yeeted out of the Celestial Realm, facing discrimination, haunted by regrets, etc etc, the brothers are in one of the darkest moments of their life. MC is just doing their thing of being the sunshine who brightens things up and stuff. They're basically the Lightbringer.
I just thought that it was interesting for the story to remind us of the fact that MC is the bearer of the Ring of Light the moment they introduce us to "Nightbringer" who obviously has a plans for MC.
What's this plan? Idk. Destroy the Celestial Realm using MC's powers, maybe. I don't really think "Nightbringer" was only interested in MC's capability to open the gates of the Celestial Realm just so this random human wandering the Devildom could reunite with his long lost love. Plus, I find it pretty weird for "Nightbringer" to mention that the person bearing the ring could wield the power of angels. If we're talking about being able to control angels like one would be able to control demons you have pacts with, MC is basically God. We've seen before in the first game just how much of a big deal it is for MC to be able to use their pacts to command seven of the Devildom's strongest demons without breaking a sweat. Solomon even says that it takes a lot out of him when he uses his pacts. If "Nightbringer" plans to take over or destroy the Celestial Realm, MC is the perfect instrument for him to use.
So, who could "Nightbringer" possibly be? Well this is just a guess because I wrote OM! fanfic and needed like, a music demon character and this one dude named Beleth popped up and apparently he's the music demon (according to The Lesser Key of Solomon, as cited in Wikipedia) and Adam mentioned hearing music before he came face to face with the demon who introduced himself as "Nightbringer" so idk lmao
cw: minors dni. melancholic. thoughts on aging. implied impending marriage.
Youâve asked Malleus once, as a joke, what would happen if you aged.
âWill you still love me when Iâm no longer young and beautiful?â you sang, the whisper of your voice not unlike the rustling leaves of the swaying trees lining your path. As you remember it now, it was a cold evening in early November, and his hand seemed to turn to ice around yours and tighten suddenly, as though you were to slip through his fingers any moment, blown away by the wind. He stopped walking, and so did you, and you looked into his eyes with surprise, sensing that perhaps you had misspoken. Was he upset?
He looks down at you, and his face is the opposite side of the pale moon. He doesnât speak.
âMalâŠ?â you whisper.
He grits his teeth. In the dark, you can feel his body stiffen then finally relax with a sigh.Â
âI will love you forever,â he answers finally. It seems to calm him to say this, an ease setting into his bones. âForever,â he repeats to you, and perhaps to himself.Â
You have never forgotten that day.
However, the passage of time is inevitable, and thus, years have passed.
He calls you the fairest of all roses and you love him, remembering all the while that flowers wilt, while he, like the sun or the stars, remains everlasting. He has been here since you were a figment of your motherâs imagination, and he will continue to exist when you fade into dust.
And yet, a ring of emeralds, diamonds and rubies, arranged almost in a bouquet, sits on your finger, and you fiddle with it nervously as you are introduced to Briar Valley as its future Queen. How long will your reign last? How long will you be by his side?
âAs long as I walk this earth,â he whispers into your ear. Itâs part of a spell, something ancient, and the fine hairs on your neck stand on end.Â
Youâve been dressed up and paraded throughout this land so foreign to you. The curious stares of the townspeople have impressed upon you enough - the human who has caught the Princeâs heart! - but they are nothing compared to the way Malleus watches you now. Even if you canât see him from where he stands behind you, half of his dragon features return to him in his bare state, strong tail wrapped around your midsection, you can feel the gaze.
He says something in an ancient language, and his lips press onto your neck.Â
âWe will exist together.â
Another kiss. His hands settle on your belly to replace his tail around your waist, which now slides between your thighs. In claws shockingly gentle on your tender, fragile skin, runes are transcribed. A seal remains where his fingers work, glowing as the burning magic sets in.
Tears fall from your eyes as you realize what heâs done.Â
âItâs not worth it just to keep me young,â you insist. You would turn to protest, glaring at him for his sacrifice, if it werenât for the fact that he still holds you so tightly.
âI donât care about your youth, just that youâre mine,â he repeats. He's said it so many times before.
Teeth graze at your neck, and fangs sink, hard, and you cry out with pain, slowly abating as more magic is forced through your skin and courses through your veins.Â
âItâs not worth it,â you sob, as you feel yourself transform.Â
âIt is.â
Malleus turns you so that you are facing him and the green of his eyes shine especially bright as he gazes upon you now. Your whole body seems to be aflame as your souls tie together.
He shouldnât do this, but faes have before, and will continue to do so until the end of time.Â
Your heart pounds as your chest presses against his and you realize that they beat in time.
â
âDo you even know how many years you gave up?â you murmur into his skin, the warmth in your cheeks now faded. Perhaps Malleus has finally rubbed onto you permanently, because now you seem to have lost track of time, your prince kissing and caressing you through the remainder of the process.
You will never be fae, but you are something else now.Â
âThey would be years without you. I have no desire to worry about things that are meaningless.â
Malleusâ fingers intertwine with yours and he kisses them tenderly.
The answer is yes. Heâll love you when youâre no longer young and beautiful.
He loves you enough that till death, and truly, till both of your deaths, do you part.Â
And just like that, I lost all my followers
