OHMYGODYES
tolstoy: after natasha and pierre got married everyone was pretty miserable for a long time and people died and stuff and it was really awful
me: aww they got married 😊 cute
me, listening to abba: wow this is kinda like that musical by the guys from abba
there’s probably some great comet production that has a perfectly cast pierre, but out of the major times he’s been portrayed (on stage or on screen) they always manage to cast him as either too small or too old. is it really that hard to find a large man who is under 40 ?
THEY SLAY (saw Sweeney Todd on broadway a few weeks ago <3)
i love a good senile boyfriend. he may not be physically old but mentally he is at least 85 and he’s always convinced someone is after him.
i’ve seen ppl criticize both kitty and natasha for being tolstoy’s overly stereotypical girl characters and while i hate tolstoy and think he was a misogynist, those girls are also just like me… so. maybe he was onto something there.
andrei "doomed by the narrative" bolkonsky has been on my mind recently.
