POWERLESS
The villain noticed that, for whatever reason, the hero was completely off their game. As they fought, their blows had no weight to them, their movements were sloppy, and their blocks could practically be broken by a short gust of wind. And then, in a bizarrely uncharacteristic display of behavior - the hero stole the villainâs usual move when a fight wasnât going their way - they attempted to flee.
They didnât get far before the villain tackled them down, straddling the heroâs thighs and pressing their wrists against the ground by their head. They sneered as the hero feebly struggled in their grip.
âSo, my supposed ânemesisâ is this easy to take down?â The villain scoffed, leaning down close to the heroâs face. âHow pathetic.â
It didnât feel earned. The hero wasnât usually this weak - they could normally bat the villain yards away like they were merely swatting a fly... but now, in their current state, even a fly could probably best them.
Something was wrong.
âUgh! LET GO OF ME, ASSHOLE!â The hero shrieked, squirming desperately underneath the weight of the villain. âGet the FUCK OFF!â
The villain narrowed their eyes, peering down at them, and then paused. Staring at their neck, they noticed an odd mark... a small puncture wound, like the heroâs skin was pierced by something... Oh, shit. They blinked, peering closer. It was some kind of injection... but of what? They removed a hand pinning one of the heroâs arms, because itâs not like they could do anything with it anyway, and held it in front of the heroâs face.
âHow many fingers am I holding up?â
âHuh?â The hero blinked up at them, pausing their thrashing at the sound of the villainâs concerned tone. Then, they huffed, rolling their eyes. âVery funny.â
âWhat?â
âWait...â The heroâs brow furrowed. âYou mean you donât know? But it was practically broadcast to all of my-â
The hero was cut off by the sound of a super-weapon charging up, and when they both looked to the side they were greeted by a comically large barrel of a gun.
âStep aside, villain.â Another one of the heroâs enemies called out, a wide smirk spreading on their face as they eased their finger on the trigger of the super-weapon. They aligned their eye with the scope, aiming directly at the hero. âTheyâre mine.â
The hero cursed under their breath.
Then, yet another enemy flew in, landing in their immediate vicinity with a ready fighting stance. âLadies first.â
And another. âI call dibs.â
âWell, this is the worst day of my life,â the hero croaked, trembling as they tried to swallow down their panic. â...and probably the last.â
The villain threw up a temporary force field around them, and then pointedly turned their gaze back to the hero.
âIâm going to need an explanation.â
The heroâs eyes had a hopeless glaze in them, but then - out of all things - they laughed. âHavenât you noticed? I lost my powers! Iâm completely fucking powerless!â
The villainâs eyebrows flew up. Oh. The injection... it was some kind of serum that took away their powers... and now they were the easy target of all of their worst enemies, which are currently pounding at the weakening force field.
The hero was throughly doomed. Unless...
âIf you donât want to die today, youâre going to do everything I say.â The villain ground out through their clenched teeth. âGot it?â
âWhat? You mean that youâre going to help me?â The hero blurted out, then they eyed the villain skeptically. âWhy?â
âNowâs not the time for questions.â The villain stated before they rose to their feet. They held their hand out to the hero expectantly. âNow, grab my hand, quick. This force field isnât going to last much longer.â
The hero brought themselves up to their elbows and bit their lip, brows furrowing as they considered taking the villainâs hand.
The force field shook, destabilizing from the force of the imminent threats awaiting the hero outside.
âNow or never, hero.â The villain said, extending their hand out further.
The hero closed their eyes, exhaling out of their nose as they grit their teeth. A short, contemplative moment passed, as the hero weighed the risks - coming to the conclusion that they were screwed no matter what - and their eyes popped open decisively.
âFuck it.â
They clasped the villainâs hand, effectively placing their trust - and their life - in the hands of their sworn enemy.
The force field encompassing them fell, leaving them unguarded. Their enemies were on them in seconds, before the villain hastily threw down a smoke bomb from their belt.
Then, with their hands still clasped together, the villain bolted, dragging hero along in tow.
God they're so cute <3
You guys really love this one, so here you go! Pt 9 is on itâs way! *accidentally had this one named part 7 at first* Find previous parts here
If Rhys had been asked whether or not he was scared of Silver, he would have said no. Of course not. How could he be afraid of someone he just had tea with? Someone he just told his real name to?
That was before they arrived at the Grandwell warehouse. None of Silverâs men were going in with them, just the villain and the hero, because Silver said he didnât want any of his men getting hurt.
Rhys had seen silver in action before, or so he thought. But apparently, heâd never really seen him in action, because wow, was it something else. Â It was terrifying, awe-inspiring, overwhelming, intimidating, scary, intoxicating and overall just breathtaking. It was like a fish in water, where the hero could see just how in his environment Silver was while fighting. His movements were so fluid, effortless. He barely even got hit; he was so good at dodging, blocking.
Admittedly, they had snuck in, taking out guards one by one at first. Silver had promised Rhys that were possible, he would knock them out instead of killing them, but that he wasnât going to be getting thrown off his game or distracted because of it. Friendship is about compromise, the hero supposed.
Up until they got into the main warehouse, Silver actually hadnât killed a single person, being able to sneak up behind them and either choke them or knock them out.
Rhys felt pretty glad he was on this side of the fighting for a change.
Once they entered the warehouse, it was very open. They split up, able to take out a few guards from weaving in between boxes, but eventually, they were noticed, and the full out brawl ensued.
Thatâs when the blood really started.
Now the hero wasnât a perfect saint either; as much as he tried to be, heâd had to kill a few guards or criminals before, but it was always in self-defence. He had a rule in place for himself that he would always offer his opponent the option to surrender first if he felt they werenât going to go down with a real fight. Even then, he always tried to only leave non-fatal wounds, but every person was different, and what didnât kill one person might not always be survivable for the next.
Honestly, if someone asked Rhys whether he was scared of Silver now, the answer still probably would have been no, but it would have at least been a more hesitant no.
His thoughts were cut off when he was thrown to the ground by a criminal he hadnât seen. They wrestled around, Rhys managing to get out of the otherâs grip for a moment, only to be pushing back into a wall, fighting to hold the criminalâs knife back from stabbing into him.
The hero didnât see the villain behind the other until the tip of a knife emerged on the other side of the criminalâs throat.
âYou good?â Silver asked, pulling his knife back and pushing the criminal to the ground.
âYeah,â The hero panted, catching his breath, âThanks, though, you could have knocked him out,â
âSorry, I wasnât thinking about it when I saw you in trouble,â the villain shrugged. He wasnât even very out of breath!
What got Rhys the most was that he also didnât even use his powers!
The hero was 80% sure he had worked out the villainâs first power was metal-kenisis, and this place was full of metal objects! But Silver managed just fine, not needing to tap into them even once.
âIs that all of them?â Rhys asked, looking around.
âAll but the Grandwells themselves, whom I assume heard the gunshots and have turned tail, but itâs worth checking anyway,â
âWhere are they?â
âMost likely the top floor,â he replied as they walked over the elevator.
âYeah, but we donât have the passcode, do we?â
The villain raised an eyebrow, âHave you seriously not put together what my powers are yet?â
âItâs metal ken- oh,â
Silver chuckled, and with of wave of his hand, the elevator doors opened. Once they were in, he made an upwards motion, and Rhys could feel the elevator going up.
Once they were at the top, they stepped out, looking around the area.
âTell me,â Silver said as they walked down the hallway, âIf we spare them, which Iâm admittingly not inclined to do, but if we do, will the police immediately investigate to clean up all their illegal activity?
"That depends; I now realize that I donât really know what Iâm going to do because I didnât bring nearly enough handcuffs, and the guys downstairs will be awake before the police get to this side of town,â
âDonât worry about it, Iâll have my men deal with it, but that answers my question anyway,â
When the two large doors at the end of the hall opened, the Grandwell twins were nowhere to be seen, but the emergency exit door was still open, sign above it blinking.
âCowards,â the villain muttered, âThey are probably long gone by now. Sacrificed the lives of their men to stall us long enough to escape. Unbelievable.â
âI-â Rhys paused, unsure how to respond, âNo offence but isnât that what, well ya'know, villains tend to do?â
Luckily Silver didnât seem offended; he simply shrugged, âMost of them, yes probably. But not me; most of my men and women have family to feed. Iâm not about to make any children lose their parents if I can help it. I may be a villain, but I have standards. You might notice I also always try to thank my men because using fear to scare your followers into loyalty isnât even close to as valuable as truly earning it. I donât expect them to be loyal to me if I treat them poorly. I may not care about them on a personal level, but working out of fear instead of free will makes for terrible work ethic among more instances of betrayal, etcetera,â
âWow, I never thought about it like that, but, yeah thatâs really smart. Iâm sure your employees appreciate it,â
Rhys watched as Silver dug through the various different drawers of the main desks, rooting through the papers and other things.
âNow what?â the hero asked.
âWell, now that itâs safe, Iâll send my men in. They will round up all the survivors for you, and if you can guarantee them safety, Iâll even have them deliver them to the police station for you. They will comb through the rest of this place and take anything valuable, as well as gather all the information they can. We will still have to track down the Grandwells after all,â
âWow, yeah, that would be perfect,â
Before the villain could reply, Rhys phone went off.
âHello?â the hero answered, and suddenly his eyes widened, âOh crap, yeah, Iâll be right there,â
âwhatâs wrong?â
âThistle and some of her men are trying to rob the bank on main street. Iâm going to have to run,â
âHold on. Let me pass the go along to my men first, and then I can tag along with you to help,â
Rhyâs eyes widened in shock, mouth ajar slightly, âdid-, are you offering to help fight crime?â he asked in disbelief.
Silver smirked that knowing, charming, yet mischievous smirk, âI consider taking out one of my competitors a very villainous thing to do,â
Rhys laughed, pulling out his phone again, âAlright, you make your call. Iâll call the station to let them know not to arrest your men when they drop off these criminals and that your tagging along to make sure they donât try and shoot you or something,â
âSounds like a plan to me, my friend,â the villain replied, dialling something on their phone. The âmy friendâ comment made the hero stop for a second, heart-swelling in his chest. Even if it had been said as almost a joke, not as earnestly as the hero was taking it, it still meant a lot.
This was turning out much better than the Rhys would have ever imagined.

Hello! May you write a snippet with an irresistible villain seducing and flirting with a flustered hero, and the villain enjoys it? Please and thank you! :)
The sky was especially blue, Hero thought, watching the reflection of the clouds drift across their sword, stars twinkling in the background.Â
A branch snapped behind them, and they spun, sword up. âVillain,â they snarled, pulling another knife out.
âYouâre certainly prepared for me,â Villain said, a playful smile on their face. âWhat makes you think I came here to fight?â
âWhy else would you be here?â Hero took a step forward, bringing the sword to Villainâs chest.Â
âI couldnât resist coming to see my favorite Hero,â Villain said, âespecially when you make every visit so⊠exciting.â
Hero frowned, and took another step forward, forcing Villain back a step. âWhatâs your plan? What are you going to do?â
âYouâre very forward,â Villain said, âbut I think a better question would be what do I want to do?â They brought their arm up, somehow holding a sword that Hero hadnât noticed, and knocked Heroâs blade to the side.Â
Hero let out a gasp and swung their sword back up, but Villain was already too close, their sword an inch from Heroâs throat.Â
âArenât you going to ask me?â Villain said, a hint of a dare in their grin.Â
âWhy would I play your idiotic games?â
âI think youâll find Iâm very good at playing games,â Villain said. âAmong other things.â
A blush started working itâs way up Heroâs neck, cheeks hot. They stumbled backward, trying not to trip over sticks and bushes. âIâŠâ they couldnât come up with a response, not even an insult.Â
Villain smiled, twirling their sword. âYouâre not very used to this, are you?âÂ
Hero scowled. âIâm a little busy saving the city from people like you, if you hadnât noticed. Whatâs it to you?â
Villain shrugged. âWould you like someone to teach you? Iâd be happy to oblige.â
âNo!â Hero shouted. They held their sword higher, indignant now. âI donât know what your plan is, but if you think this little distraction is going to work-â
âOh, so you think Iâm distracting?â
Hero knew they were bright red, their ears unbearably hot against the cold air. âNo- no thatâs not what I said-â
âOf course,â Villain replied, taking another step forward. âYouâd never, ever think anything of the sort, youâre much too proper.â
For some reason, Hero blushed even harder.
âUnless thatâs wrong,â Villain said, stepping even closer. Their swords were both forgotten at their sides now, Villain standing close enough to reach out and grab Hero if they wanted.
A shiver ran down Hero. They reached out behind them, unable to take their eyes off Villain, fingers brushing a tree.
âCold?â Villain asked. âI have an extra sweater.â
âIâm not cold,â Hero said, âso get away from me and leave me alone! I have-â
Villain had reached out, capturing a strand of Heroâs hair.Â
Hero remembered that they had a sword, and started to bring it up.
Villain grabbed their wrist, twisting it back so that they dropped their sword, then pushed Hero into the tree behind them.
âYouâre quite a lot of fun, Hero,â Villain said, one hand on Heroâs wrist between them and their sword resting on Heroâs collarbone. âbut I donât tolerate lies.â
âI never lied!â Hero protested, trying to push Villain away.
Villain shifted the sword, bringing it up to Heroâs throat, stopping Heroâs fighting altogether. âThatâs better,â they said, releasing Heroâs wrist.Â
Hero glared up at Villain. âI donât know what your plan here is, but it isnât working.â
âWhat did I say about lying?âÂ
âI wasnât-â Hero stopped, suddenly, staring at Villainâs lips. âIâŠâÂ
Villain leaned closer, just barely brushing their lips against Heroâs. âWhat was that?â they murmured against Heroâs mouth.
For a moment, Hero almost sighed, leaning into the slight kiss. Then they jerked back, pushing Villain away. âNo! Youâre not going to confuse me.âÂ
âI wonât do anything you donât ask me to do,â Villain said.Â
âLike crime?âÂ
âDepends on how nicely you ask me not to do it.â Villain looked Hero up and down. âI can think of a few ways you could distract me from doing crime.â
Hero blushed.Â
âAfter all,â Villain continued, âIâd be busy doing... other things.â They winked at Hero.Â
Hero moved away from the tree, trying to get their sword back from where theyâd dropped it. âI, um- that wouldnât happen,â they said. Why was Villain so damn smug all the time?!
âMaybe not today, then,â Villain said, and kicked Heroâs sword up and into their hand. âI have what I came for after all-â they looked back at hero â-unless youâd like to join me? Iâd love to give you some private lessons.â
Hero sucked in a breath, suddenly imagining exactly what a âprivate lessonâ with Villain would look like.Â
Then they remembered that Villain was supposed to be their enemy. âGive me my sword,â they said.
âThe sword comes with me- if you want it, you have to come with me too.â
Hero definitely wasnât considering going with them.
âAre you going to kill me if I do?â they asked.Â
Villain smiled, holding out their hand for Hero to take. âI donât mix my work with my private life- itâll be you and me.â
Hero could worry about getting their sword back later.
Happy New Year everyone!Â
