I believe tech isn’t dead. They wanted us to feel like all is lost for tbb. And what better way then making us and the characters believe that a beloved fav is dead. The creators know Tech is one of the favs. It’s to early in the series to kill him off.
Okay, this is likely the only thing I'll post on the Bad Batch finale situation:
(Especially because we're talking about a likely neurodivergent character and definitely many neurodivergent fans.)
You weren't. We weren't. The signs were there. The foreshadowing (falling into clouds, the goggles, CX2's Everything) was real and consistent and *intentional.* You are not delusional for LOGICALLY FOLLOWING writing convention patterns and leading where the writing is directing you. (If there's something the majority of autistic story-enthusiasts are good at, it's logical storycraft and pattern recognition, both in creating and consuming! We know how to follow basic steps!)
They can say "oh it was just a red herring", and that is Technically (ha) true, but it is one of the most blatant and frankly cruelly marketed ones, that smacks of stringing fan emotions along to keep us watching when they know many would stop watching if they knew what lay ahead. (Using a basically-confirmed-autistic character's death for shock value and little else, and then using the ambiguity of Is He Really Dead Or Is He This Extremely Similar Looking Guy We Brought in Right After' to keep churning up social media buzz. I might have.)
You were not delusional to have hope - that's what Star Wars is about.
You are not delusional to think this is wrong, a writing fumble, or simply them yanking the football away when *it was there all along.* The road signs were clear, they were just... lying, for lack of a better term.
You're not wrong for being upset about this, the latest in a long history of autistic characters treated as plot devices and catalysts for neurotypical characters' development rather than their own, and fans taken advantage of.
Please treat yourselves better. And if you're on the outside, or neurotypical, please treat us better. I promise, we have actual reasons for feeling pain right now, and delusions are not at all among them.
Thank you.
Cmon, we all know he's gonna be okay. It's gonna be fine. Bring it in! Group hug!
Until someone from the show confirms that Tech is dead, I don't believe it. We've seen this before. Echo died in an explosion. Nope. Ahsoka fell when she dueled Vader. That didn't stick. Maul, Palpatine, Leia, Mace Windu...okay, that last one is still in the air. But my point is that we never saw a body. Face it. If they wanted Tech dead, they would have given him a shoulder wound. I lost track of how many times that proved fatal this season.
For starters, it would be a very bad move! Tech was probably the most loved character on the show even before they further developed his character this season. To remove him from the show would deprive a lot of people of someone who gives them a feeling of true representation in Star Wars.
Then there's Phee. That last "conversation" she tried to have with him was awkward and very specific. They animated him in such a way that he was obviously avoiding eye contact. He was uncomfortable. He didn't want to say goodbye. I don't think he knew how. It looked to me like they were setting us up for a reunion scene.
Now let's talk about Hemlock. Him being in possession of Tech's goggles is another reason I think he's alive. When he held out the goggles and said, "I'm afraid this is all I could salvage," it suggested to me that Hemlock has him. It doubly struck me since he had just used the term "fascinating" in the same spirit of scientific curiosity Tech had used earlier in the season with the Zillo Beast. The only way I can see Tech being alive but not captured in this scenario would be if there is a raging river or deep crevasse beneath the train and all they found nearby was the goggles. (Which means that, if he is alive, we will finally get that goggleless Tech we've been wanting to see so badly all this time.)
Let's not forget the most important thing of all. Tech is an incredibly capable soldier. He is resourceful, exceptionally well-trained, and was fully kitted-out when he fell. It's not hard for me to imagine him using a grappling hook and cable or other means to keep from falling to his death. He said it himself. He has the "ability to think clearly in stressful situations". And if Hemlock has him, he's going to need it.
All this gives me great hope for season three. If Hemlock does have Tech, he would have him transferred to Mt. Tantiss on Weyland. Now, Crosshair and Tech are together with other no-longer-Imperial clones. Omega is there with Nala Se, who wants Omega as far from there as possible. Nala Se is no longer in a cell, but working in a lab—under guard, but with access to equipment. Factor in Omega's clone sister and this has all the earmarks of an epic escape episode.
Fingers crossed.
That’s the Crosshair we know and love!!
Never forget about the conversations between Nala Se and Lama Su in season 1
They were talking about there contingency plan, a superior clone (which we now know is the mitchlorian count). I mean it makes sense, why would this empire want to fund them if they make a superior clone…
She says “such a contingency cannot be created with out a direct source. The clones required will not return willing”
He says “they are Kamanoian property and we only need one”
Ummm…. So we know of Omega. Who are the other(s)
Huh....
What if clone x is Slick? Back from season 1
His death has yet to be confirmed.
He chose his own path and didn’t care if his brothers got hurt.
Also he appears in Dark Disciple. I have not read that book as of now, but I know Asaji Ventress is in it and she is also in this season of TBB. If anyone has read it please tell me what he does in it.
I’m not surprised by anything in the second episode. But in the first, what not expecting that.
I still can’t get over this.
In my opinion. Crosshair never had closure with the Bad Batch leaving him. To him, they are as good as dead bc he believes he will never see them again. Plus he doesn’t know day to day if they survived.
When Mayday came along, he surly reminded Crosshair of Hunter. So much I believe that it is (one of the many) reasons he saved him. When Crosshair was carrying Mayday, he was carrying Hunter also. When Mayday died in his arms, Hunter did also.
I’m literally Weezing😂😂. (Also ignore the background noise.)
Just a little fan trying to make her way through the galaxy
