GOD YOUR OC IS JUST BEAUTIFUL I JUST GHJKHGCGFHFJJG HHHHHHHHH what's her favorite food?? (sorry this question is so basic, will come back for her hand in marriage /lh asking more questions!! much love <3)
THANK YOU!!! ❤️🥹 I love your OCs too! The Rose Brigade?? That is such a badass name for a gang and each of your OCs have such a unique flair to them and they’re BEAUTIFUL!!!
And to answer your question (I don’t care that it’s basic, I love to answer them nonetheless! 🥹)
Maríanne favorite food would be Plátanos Fritos (fried plantains).
She used to eat a lot of it as a child, and still thinks about them on occasion.
If you give her a plate of these she will get all giddy and refuse to share it with anybody. (She may also be willing to accept the proposal too, although she would be very confused lmao)
Hope that answer the question, sorry for not including any art in this one! (Kinda want to do that for stuff more lore-related things :D) Thank you for asking though!!
THIS IS SO GOOD
*CONSUMES ART*
AHHHHHHH
@ahhhh-118 was very gracious and let me copy her idea for halloween. @rudnitskaia also helped me with the last line of the poem, thank you so much!
I based Åse’s appearance of of Nøkken from Scandinavian folklore. I compare Åse lot with folk myths and creatures, most specifically with changelings. But Nøkken is also a good comparison. With it being associated with water and shape shifting.
I also like the symbolism of Åse kind of embracing the dark and the water. He isn't a naturally mean or bad person I think but he has been treated like an outsider most of his life, which was very dehumanizing for him. After he ran away from home and lost all the people in his life that actually treated him with love and respect he just gave up and accepted his own inhumanity. Being in the water kind of symbolizes him reclaiming the darkness and surrounding herself with it.
The composition itself is based on this Theodor Kittelsen illustration. This was especially fun for me because I was personally horrified of Nøkken when i was little. It didn't help that I grew up near a lake. The Kittelsen painting being a big reason why it freaked me out so much.

Where's the rest of Marianne's family? What is her relationship with her brother (both when Marianne was young and now, when they're adults)?
Hi, thank you for the question! Sorry it took me awhile to answer life and procrastination got in the way 😅 but here we go:
So the relationship with her brother, Sebastian, has always been strong even as kids. Despite an 8 year age gap, Sebastian adored his little sister taking care of her (practically raising her) since their parents were always too busy with their own business deals.
They left their grandmother back in Còrdoba and the family had moved to Florida making their own arrangements in selling illegal wine.
While young Maríanne was in her own world, Sebastian was always suspicious of the men that would come around their house and chat with his parents. The young boy always had a feeling that things wouldn’t end well.
To this day, he hated how right he was…
As adults they went their separate ways. They still write letters to each other on occasion to see if the other is still alive and the update in each other of their daily lives.
However, the letters tend to get lost (sometimes) since running under an alias can confuse the mailman.
(Thank you again for asking this question I will get to your next one 🤧)
Some insight into the designs and fashion of the 20s would be so cool, especially since it's kinda hard these days to sift through just costume listing :'0
Yeah, sadly, the usefulness of a Google search is greatly diminished these days. You can still find articles written by actual human beings and genuine historical garments, but you have to wade through a lot of junky costumes and AI bullshit to get there. I can't possibly fully explain 1920s fashion here, though. It's a broad enough topic to write a sizable book about...which is why people have written many books about it. Check out some books. There are things you can get pretty cheap from resellers, everything from academic screeds about the politics behind the fashion trends of the time, to clothing catalogue compilations from the 20s, to giant coffee table books full of glorious photos.
Here's a PDF version of one of those clothing catalog collections. There's an entire preface about 1920s fashion in general too.
There are some pretty well made blogs about the topic out there as well. Vintage Dancer is one of them. The front of the site is unfortunately kind of cluttered with ads for costume apparel and modern clothing inspired by the 20s, but scroll past that to the historical bits and you'll find pertinent things.
There are some great fashion YouTubers too, like Karolina Zebrowska. Although she's not focused heavily on 1920s fashion, she talks a lot about early 20th century fashion in general. She also talks a lot about the historical context of those fashions.
Also, try online museum displays. The Met Museum has a searchable collection, for instance. Look up 1920s fashion, 1920s dresses, 1920s suits, etc.
Cameras were popular and accessible in the 1920s. Look at pictures of what people actually wore. You can find these images in free government photo archives, or licensing libraries like Getty Images (you don't have to license anything to look at it). And there's always Shorpy. Poor old, underappreciated Shorpy. Their archive is searchable.

Meet Maine "May" Cathnesty. The lovely baker of the Little Daisy Café.
Born in Texas, moved to St. Louis to look for a job, which ended up in the Café.
A 19 year old Maine Coon, with a distinct southern accent. She has a knack for giving nicknames to people based on that person's mood at the moment.
Do you have any Amber backstory or lore you'd like to share? np if not. im just really curious about her :3
Hellooo!! I do have a backstory for her in mind, but I was so lazy (again) to write anything on a paper and just basically revise everything mentally. Her backstory isn't final btw but I can share some bits with you.
Since Amber was adopted, of course she has biological parents lmao but that was the other topic for her lore.
Amber was originally named Mayumi Sanchez and was born on September 21, 1902 in Sonora, Mexico. She and her parents left the country and decided to live in Oklahoma for a new life.
(I searched the Mexican History just so her lore will makes sense, but I also make sure to not get too political here huhu. I may not be a Mexican, but their history feeds my curiosity so BAHAHAHAH)
As they landed on Oklahoma, everything went well. They got a house to shelter on, and enough money for their necessities. That is until Amber have to stop studying at school due to financial problems. Her father had to find a better job with a decent salary, yet it was difficult for him to find one. On the other hand, her mother stayed on their house to look after her. Her mother was actually a teacher back in the Philippines so she teaches Amber more things (useful or practical ones!).
A tragedy fell on the Sanchez family when a fire spread inside their house. Not sure how it happened or where it started, but Amber managed to survive. Unfortunately, her parents didn't make it (rest their souls), and Amber ended up being an orphan after that. Amber had a blurry memory of that tradegy until she remembers it again in the main plot (which is another different story).
Amber stayed at one of the orphanages in Oklahoma in around a few months before she was adopted. In her experiences in those months, she didn't have a good time, but that doesn't mean she had a bad time either. She hated the food there, as she can describe them as "stale with a hint of metal", and she missed her mother's dishes. She made some friends but there are some bullies too. There is this one girl who grabbed the scissors and just cut Amber's hair just because she is "weird". Don't worry, she fought back.
Hi, have you ever thought about doing a voice claim for Benjamin or imagined what his voice would sound like? I have myself ofc
(Also Benjamin is so adorable, I just wanna squeeze him, may I please hug him at least, if Mordecai okay with it?)
Impeccable timing with this ask! I do indeed have a voice claim :)
