How Important Contact is to Kagome & Inuyasha’s Relationship

Some may recall that a good time back I did a post called “Inuyasha and Human Contact” which was largely focused on how Inuyasha grew up and how overtime, his time around Kagome allows him to get his humanity back. I’ve been asked to do something of a chronological rundown of his contact with Kagome over the course of the series.

Now remember this is only covering physical contact, hand holding and the like. I am also going to be skipping some of the things that happened in the beginning that involve this, don’t think anything before the point where he tells Kagome to climb on his back while pursuing Lord Frog technically count since most of that is more because things need to be done, not him wanting to do thing.

I’m also not going to cover every instance of them being next to one another or Kagome holding onto Inuyasha’s arm
instances of that become numerous enough, so numerous in fact that there isn’t much of a need for the “big moments”, it’s established so much by that point that’s it’s just kind of a natural thing for them, by then these two are always next to one another.

In the beginning it’s actually Inuyasha that initiates a lot of the contact between the two of them, it takes Kagome a little while to reciprocate that contact, before they both reciprocate it back and forth to one another.

Chapter #19: This marks the first time that he willingly asks Kagome to get onto his back to get over the castle wall. He’s more than happy to have Kagome there by this point, and makes it a point of argument when Nobunaga tries to follow.

Chapter #22: Marks the first time they actually are sitting next to one another, before this they’re always kept at a distance from one another, but here they are both sitting on the blanket Kagome laid out.

Chapter #34: Inuyasha panics when he realizes that Kagome may be dead and that her spirit is talking to him before she leaves, he lunges out and tries to grab her hand, and actually does. It takes him a moment to realize that she hasn’t gone anywhere. This marks the first time these two actually held hands, even Kagome is taken aback by him doing it, naturally he immediately moves his hand away after he realizes he’s holding her hand, but not before a noticeable blush forms on his cheeks.

Chapter #37: I skipped an instance like this at the beginning, his reason for grabbing Kagome and putting her on his back was to race off after the Carrion Crow, or when they raced off to fight Yura. In those instances he had a reason, in this instance, he doesn’t, he doesn’t want to get involved in the situation one way or another, but when he realizes that Kagome’s worried and she will not stop until she saves Mayu he changes his mind, grabs her and races off trying to help her.

Chapter #40: Some might wonder why I am including him giving Kagome, Tessaiga and why I didn’t include him giving her the Robe of the Fire Rat during the Yura arc. I consider that latter more of a necessity (and he also had not yet called her by her real name), in this case it’s still kind of necessity but he’s trusting her with his sword to protect her and Nazuna.

Chapter #42: Inuyasha asks her if he can lay his head on his lap. By far the closets the two have gotten thus far, and it’s actually Inuyasha asking for that closeness. The confessions he makes after this only adds to the scene.

Chapter #45: Marks the closest the two of them have been to one another, when Kagome sits down besides Inuyasha. Second time that Inuyasha grabs onto her hand when Kagome questions him about the similarities to Kikyo, she believes he hates her because of that, he’s even leaned in a little closer to her when he tries to explain that, that isn’t the case.

Chapter #52: After Miroku runs off with Kagome’s bike and the shards, Kagome sits down beside him and apologizes to him. He leans a little away in surprise and tries to play off his worry to be about the shards, not Kagome herself. Inadvertently admitting that he was more worried about Kagome than the jewel, the flustered blush only adds to the scene. By this point, Kagome on his back is kind of commonplace for him.

Chapter #54: When Miroku, does what he does, reaching out and rubbing Kagome’s butt, Inuyasha immediately moves his hand around Kagome and pulls her towards him. Kagome would turn and hug up close to him. When Miroku makes the proposal to Kagome to have his child, Inuyasha immediately puts distance between the two of them, moving Kagome behind him and away from Miroku.

Chapter #56: When they realize that the Hell Painter is closeby, Miroku runs off with Kagome’s bike, Kagome is prepared to run after him before Inuyasha grabs her and races off with her on his back. It’s becoming a bit of a habit by this point.

Chapter #62: After Kagome is knocked out when Sesshomaru throws Inuyasha in her direction, Inuyasha moves his hand to the side of her face and cradles her cheek, right before he turns and gives Sesshomaru a death-glare for what he’s done.

Chapter #64: Inuyasha again reaches out and grabs onto her hand, this turns into a hug next to the well together. This is followed by him making the decision that being around him is far too dangerous for her.

Chapter #70: Kagome runs over to Inuyasha after she gets through the well and hugs him. He’s taken aback a little. This is actually the first time that Kagome initiates the contact.

Chapter #73: By far and large the closest they have been up to this point, Kagome leans up against Inuyasha. Inuyasha freezes in places not expecting her to be so close to him. Asking the reason why, only leads to him revealing that he was thinking that something more was going on than just Kagome being scared. It’s actually incredible how rigid he actually seems to get from the mere fact that she’s leaning up close to him, he’s completely rattled and flustered. When the princess their watching raises up Kagome immediately clings to Inuyasha wrapping her arms around him.

Chapter #78: Sitting close to one another while they’re talking about what Inuyasha said to Kagome and what he said to Kikyo. This is the moment where he tells Kagome that he wants to be around her and that he feels relaxed when she is around him, but cannot forgot about Kikyo and has to find a way to make up for what happened between the two of them. This scene shifts from them starting out side-to-side, with Kagome having her back to him, and Inuyasha sitting upright facing forward, this turns into them leaning back to back against one another.

Chapter #111: After Kagome blasts Naraku to shreds at his castle, Kagome explains the reason she got angry, was due to how Naraku was mocking Sango, and Inuyasha, a flustered and blushing Inuyasha walks over and casually sits down right next to her (at this point he’s just used to being next to her), trying to play it off as a dumb reason, but pretty obviously happy to hear that.

Chapter #112: The first time that Inuyasha just casually falls asleep while riding around on the back of her bike, this is a rarity seeing him so relaxed in the Feudal Era, being next to and alone with Kagome likely helps that fact.

Chapter #124: Inuyasha grabs onto Kagome’s hand when she questions his reason for being there. He’s taken aback by her asking about Kikyo, when the whole reason he was there was because he remembered her. He’s scared, not only because he almost lost her and himself, but he also believes that Kagome has lost faith in him. After the experience with the Illusionary Death, realizing that the day that Kikyo and himself turned on one another that he lost his humanity, faith and heart, only to regain them all when he met Kagome, has him in a very heightened state of mind.

Chapter #135: Think this one tends to get looked over. Koga tries to play the protector throughout all of this (despite him being the reason that Kagome is there to begin with), despite the fact that the wolves keep her safe, nothing stops Kagome from running over to Inuyasha and hugging him when she sees him. We’d get a repeat of this scene later during the Band of 7 arc, but it’s amazing to watch it happen right around the time that Koga and Inuyasha started fighting over her, up until the point where I believe even Koga didn’t want to admit he’d lost later.

Chapter #140: After the fight, and the back and forth of the two of them debating whether they should go back or not, Kagome decides to when she realizes that Inuyasha came to her time to see her. They reconcile after a few moments before Kagome leans up against Inuyasha (and it’s by far the furthest one yet, her head is fully resting on his shoulder), Inuyasha, who is blushing, doesn’t seem to mind this one bit.

Chapter #157: Kagome hugs him after she returns him back to his normal self, the move flusters him and leaves him blushing.

Chapter #158: In a moment under the stars they sit close to one another and share drinks, they both have a moment where they talk about how Inuyasha was in his demon form, Inuyasha promises her that no matter what happen he will never forgot her. (A nice connection to the Illusionary Death I might add.)

Chapter #164: When Koga arrives, Inuyasha naturally steps between Koga and Kagome. While they are sitting down and talking with Koga, Inuyasha and Kagome are extremely close to one another as well, Kagome is almost leaning on him.

Chapter #171: Not technically human contact, but he sits next to the well looking into it wondering what Kagome is doing in her time. This is more wanting her around him, than physical contacting. Cheating? Eh maybe, but the end result is going to be the same.

Chapter #176: Kagome is the one to initiate the hand-holding, Inuyasha returns it, this marks the first time that they both hold onto one another’s hand rather than just one of them grabbing the others.

Chapter #182: Inuyasha draps his arm around Kagome’s shoulders and pulls her in closer to him. He also admits that he actually worried about what could have happened to her and apologizes for him not being there for her.

Chapter #187: Kagome draps her arms around Inuyasha’s neck leaning up against his back as she does so and hugging him, Inuyasha in turn brings his hand up and gripping his hand onto hers. It’s a pretty close mirror to what happened previously, Kagome supporting Inuyasha in a moment of pain.

Chapter #195: After the arrow misses, Kagome falls down, and we see Inuyasha instinctively wrapping his arms around Kagome in a hug to support her.

Chapter #198: After the battle with Tsubaki, Inuyasha carries Kagome away on his back, this is where Inuyasha again apologizes for him always getting her into trouble, and how she is stuck with him, but is shocked when he hears Kagome brush that off and tell him that she’s with him because she wants to be with him.

Chapter #224: Ah, the scene where Inuyasha falls asleep on Kagome’s bed. Also marks the first time (and as far as we see only time) he spent the night over at Kagome’s house too.

Chapter #225: Koga appears, naturally Inuyasha makes sure to put distance between the two, standing between Koga and Kagome.

Chapter #229: Can I count him hiding behind Kagome for protection from Sango? Believe it counts.

Chapter #233: Kagome stays outside with Inuyasha (who has the giant boulder sealed to his hand), not wanting him to feel lonely. Naturally he tells her she doesn’t have to stay with him, and of course when she gets up to leave, believing she is bothering him, he quickly tells her she’s not and she stays.

Chapter #244: Inuyasha cries and clutches Kagome to his chest when he believes that Kagome has died. Marking the first time he’s cried in the series (or if we go by what Myoga says, never, at least as far as he’s known Inuyasha).

Chapter #245: Koga appears, Inuyasha literally swipes Koga’s hands away from Kagome. I’d also further point out that even as Koga is trying to scold Inuyasha for putting Kagome in danger, you can see Kagome’s hand on Inuyasha’s arm, she’s also very close to his side when they stand up.

Chapter #249: Inuyasha notices that Kagome isn’t on his back as they’re traveling, it bothers him so much that he stops the entire group to find out what happened. At this point to him it’s kind of how things are supposed to be, and when she’s not around it bothers him.

Chapter #265: Believing Inuyasha to be dead, Kagome lunges over at Inuyasha when he’s revealed to be alive, crying and hugging him. A nice connection to when Inuyasha cried and hugged her before, and this more or less was the scene where Koga lost (though he wasn’t willing to admit that). Inuyasha returns the hug and apologizes for making her worry.

Chapter #285: After Kagome’s revelation that she loves Inuyasha and breaks free from the control of the baby, she falls back into Inuyasha’s arms who clutches her closely to him.

Chapter #286: After a discussion where Kagome tells Inuyasha that she understands he has a duty to protect Kikyo, she leans in and snuggles up to him.

Chapter #287: Not really actual contact, but he does admit that he came to see her because he wanted to see her. It’s hard to actually pin-point when it started, but this is largely where Kagome starts to hold onto Inuyasha’s arm when she is standing next to him.

Chapter #332: This is another technicality, but here Inuyasha pretty much makes it clear that she doesn’t need her bicycle (he didn’t like it anyway), he’s more than happy to carry her around (not that he hasn’t and already doesn’t mind carrying her around up to this point).

Chapter #339: Koga appears, and Inuyasha moves Kagome away from Koga and behind him. Of course this time things don’t work out as he intended

Chapter #355: Inuyasha loses control of his demon side inside of the demon’s belly, while fusing the shards into the Tessaiga. Kagome lunges forward and grabs onto him in a tight hug, stabilizing and purifying the evil in the shards for him to get off the attack needed to free them.

Chapter #356: After escaping the belly of the demon they spend a long moment in a tree together, Inuyasha worries about the injuries she sustained caused by the demon’s stomach acid, she assures him that they’re fine and they are all safe because of him, they both lean up against one another as they look at the scenery in front of them.

Chapter #380: Koga appears, and Inuyasha moves Kagome away from Koga and behind him.

Chapter #382: Koga appears, and Inuyasha moves Kagome away from Koga and behind him. Haha.

Chapter #392: Inuyasha once more takes a nap in Kagome’s bed.

Chapter #411: Carrying a tired ot Kagome who recently failed a small test because of her absences, he tries to cheer her up and tells her “I’ll always be with you.” Naturally it works.

Chapter #439: Koga hugs Kagome goodbye and Inuyasha tries to hit him with Tessaiga before he runs off.

Chapter #452: Koga grabs onto Kagome’s hands, naturally that’s not happening and he once again tries to attack Koga with the Tessaiga.

Chapter #520: I could pretty much put down this entire chapter to be perfectly honest. It being the last instance (at least full-chapter instance of the modern era) of Kagome and Inuyasha together. The almost-kiss being the biggest factor.

Chapter #556: “You’re wrong! That is not the reason Kagome was born! Kagome taught me how to smile, how to trust people. It’s because of Kagome that I have friends. Relying on my companions. Shedding tears for other people. True strength and kindness. Kagome taught me them all. Kagome was born so that she could meet me and I, too, for Kagome’s sake.

This Is Genuinely One Of My Favorite Little Throwaway Moments From The Manga (that Got Cut From The Anime

This is genuinely one of my favorite little throwaway moments from the manga (that got cut from the anime btw). We have Kagome keeping up a relentless march simply because she saw how many people died to Naraku's latest attack, and that motivates her to stop him even if she's on the brink of wearing herself out. We have Miroku being a good friend and tactfully taking note to point it out to Inuyasha, who's too absorbed by a similar motivation at the moment. Then he just casually tells him he can't just tell a girl he likes her before being a slave driver, Inuyasha not bothering to try denying he did in fact confess to her (which Miroku was eaves-dropping on as usual lol) while Kagome claps in "you tell 'im" approval. Meanwhile Myouga realizes he's missed a lot since he's been gone. 😂

Omg Omg It’s @inuvember Day 19: Inuyasha & Kagome

omg omg it’s @inuvember day 19: Inuyasha & Kagome

I didn’t have anything planned so I threw this together quickly. Here’s some super rushed and rough art and a drabble from an AU I’d like to call “What If (we made out all over Feudal Japan)?” where
 well

 I think you get it.

What If?

Kagome sucked in her lips, biting down on them from inside with nervous uncertainty. He wasn’t doing well.

If a quick kiss worked to heal him, just a little bit, then
What would a longer kiss do? Work the same? Work better?

“C-can I try
 the thing?” she asked.

“Kiss me?” He asked, barely able to focus on her.

“You lost so much blood, and the poison is–”

“I’m human, I dunno if it’ll work.”

“I know, but I have to try something.” She was blinking back her tears.

Even blinking felt like work. “Yeah
 okay.”

Kagome bent down and turned his face gently to hold it with a trembling hand.

Please let this work, she thought desperately as her lips settled over his chapped ones. Instead of pulling away quickly as she did the times before, she lingered, pressing a little harder too. Please work, please work, please work.

Tears fully glossing her eyes, Kagome finally pulled back just a little. She clung painfully onto the bit of hope in her heart.

“Anything?” She whispered as a heavy drop fell.

“I dunno
 but that was
 nice,” he sighed.

She pouted, voice thickened by a stuffy nose from crying. “You said it was gross to kiss me.”

Inuyasha furrowed his brow, like he was trying to remember. “Sorry. That
 was a lie
”

A blush erupted onto her face. Was that
? Was he being sweet? “Oh god, you’re delirious aren’t you? You’re–”

“Kagome,” he interrupted. “I think
”

She heard a light scratch at the floor and saw his hand shift. “You can move?” she gasped, the hope suddenly bursting.

“Yeah, I’m starting to get some feeling back. I think it worked a little.”

Kagome practically leapt back onto him, kissing him fiercely with both hands cupping his cheeks. She pulled back and kissed him again and again until she felt him grip her arms.

“Woah there, Kagome.”

She only moved back a few inches. “It worked, right? So—“

His face was redder than his haori. Hers follows his example.

“Yeah,” he mumbled, pushing himself to sit up slightly. “It’s working, alright.”

Clearly the numbness was fading and her tactics were effective. That didn’t ease their embarrassment.

She nearly huffed, “What’s the problem?”

“Just give it a minute. No amount of kissing is going to turn me back into a hanyou, so we’re still screwed until sunrise.”

“I’m still mad at you about that. You should’ve told me. You should’ve trusted me with that much! Now we’re here.” She wanted to shout, but with Shippou and Nazuna sleeping in the corner, she kept her words to an angry hush. Still, the overwhelmed tears caught his attention.

He pursed his lips. “Why were you—are you—crying?”

Kagome let out an indignant sound. “Because I’m frustrated and scared! I thought you were going to die, I thought we all were going to die. We still might. This sucks!” It was a childish way to end her sentiment, but screw it! It did suck!

“Why
 did you kiss me?”

She almost sputtered. “Because I need you to get better!”

“To save you?”

“To not die, you idiot! I don’t want you to die! Obviously!” She scrubbed her face angrily. Why was he being so weird?

Then he spoke, soft but firm, “One more.”

Kagome blinked. “One more what?”

“Time,” Inuyasha said, and without warning pulled her closer to lock their mouths together.

And he was right.

It was nice

“Sorry,” Inuyasha muttered when they came apart. “I still couldn’t feel my toes.”

Funny, since Kagome felt hers tingling—her toes to her spine, to her fingertips, to the very top of her head.

She felt out of breath when she asked him, “Do you feel better now?”

“Yeah,” his hand came up to her cheek. “I can feel things again.”

Hello!

Fellow inukagger here *shakes your hand* I noticed your tags on an inuyasha video edit post where you stated inuyasha was seeing kagome during their almost first-kiss. I want to believe this soo badly, but I have actually made a post where I argue the opposite bc that’s (unfortunately) my interpretation.

I would genuinely love to hear why you think this as I’m more than happy to be convinced đŸ„ș❀ If you’ve posted about it before, apologies that I haven’t seen it; please kindly drop a link.

Thank you very much! (It’s all đŸ«¶đŸŒ and interest in civil discussion, certainly not looking to start anything otherwise)

Sure thing! I think there's a lot of misconception firstly because Kagome herself says this. That he hates her for looking like Kikyou, but when he looked at her in that moment, it looked loving, so she herself put two and two together that he must still be seeing her as Kikyou, but therefore have been in love with Kikyou. Which is partially true in that we know he did have feelings for her back when she was alive. (I have my own InuKik-critical perception on this, but that's a whole other rant and probably not what you're asking.) But I think it's VERY important to keep in mind that Kagome is an Unreliable Narrator in her own story here, particularly where it comes to interpreting Inuyasha's feelings at times. This holds true for pretty much the entire story, but particularly early on, when she doesn't know him as well. First off, I'm going to fast-forward slightly to give examples of Inuyasha himself making it clear he does NOT see Kagome as Kikyou, to prove my point that he's not lying when he tells her so at the almost-kiss. Keep in mind a lot of these are only available in the source material and the anime DID cut them to fuel love triangle drama. The manga is the original intended canon, so that's what I'll be going with for this entire conversation.

Hello!

(Let it be said that as far as Japanese subtleties are concerned, he is asking Kagome to date him, here.)

Hello!

For the sake of argument, let's look back at this "very beginning" he mentions, and how long it took him to realize Kagome LOOKED a bit like Kikyou, but was not Kikyou:

Hello!

Well that was quick. He does compare them a few times after this, but it's always about how different they are. (Usually to be rude, but let's face it, this is early Inuyasha.)

Hello!
Hello!
Hello!
Hello!

(I include this "comparison" just because he's RELIEVED here at Kagome NOT being Kikyou. It's the first explicit indication that he likes her for her and would be heartbroken if the girls got switched.)

Hello!
Hello!

(Then he proceeds to make it even more explicit, and even Kaede spells it out.)

He completely stops comparing them in any capacity after this, and the way he does it says to me that he sees and values them very differently IN SPITE of the slight physical resemblance, not BECAUSE they look alike.

"But Kit!" I hear you say, "These examples are meaningless because they are AFTER he tried to kiss her!" Well I disagree his feelings would have changed that drastically in the small amount of time given the context, but let's still look at all InuKag have been through at this point. I'll just do a montage of Inuyasha feeling pride or affection for Kagome in said arcs because I am self-indulgent like that, lol.

Hello!

(My boy did not need to protect her, here. If she was gone, he'd be free of the beads and thus free to just take the Jewel. He did it purely out of valuing her life in some capacity.)

Hello!
Hello!

(Knowing her scent already? Lending her your only armor just so she won't get hurt? Why Inuyasha, that's not extremely intimate at all!)

Hello!
Hello!

(I find him saying her name significant not just because of differentiating her from Kikyou in his mind, but in that Inuyasha doesn't say ANYONE'S name unless they are important to him. Exceptions.)

Hello!
Hello!
Hello!
Hello!
Hello!

Hello!

("I refuse to get involved!" *Kagome's in trouble, immediately gets involved*)

Hello!
Hello!

(I love this arc overall SO MUCH cuz they not only have their first friendly pouty BFFs spat, but Inuyasha then immediately comes running to save her after smelling her blood THROUGH SPACE AND TIME, and is so desperate to be relied on cuz it makes him feel good to protect her and he's realizing that.)

Hello!
Hello!

(Lest we forget he had SOMETHING TO TELL HER right before threading their fingers extremely intimately.)

Hello!

(Inu wasn't in this arc much but he WAS very worried and impressed with her.)

Hello!
Hello!

(I could honestly put the WHOLE spider head arc in here and gush about every detail of their character development, but we all know the highlight and I think Rumiko put it best in the Profiles Book that Inuyasha had never encountered or thought of anyone who would be saddened by his death before. I truly believe this is when he decided to open up and give his budding feelings for her a chance to bloom. And more importantly for this particular argument, decides NOT TO LIE to her again.)

And it's at this point we come to him trying to kiss her. It's true Inuyasha's emotions are slightly volatile from Kikyou being brought up. It's a definite sore spot, which even Kagome picks up on. Kagome asks point blank if he still sees her as Kikyou and hates her for it. To which he says she has it all wrong.

Hello!

Considering her previous statement was if he HATES her, we can pretty easily infer that he's answering that directly, here. As in, no, he does not. Reading into context clues and what we see before and after this moment, I'd go so far as to say he's implying he LOVES her, here. Or at least is beginning to realize he likes her much more than as a friend. The last arc was huge for him, let's not forget that. He'd never ever been vulnerable like that with anyone: both in letting them know his night of weakness, and emotionally. All signs point to him having realized he's fallen for Kagome pretty hard and is ready to finally LET himself fall. (Though clearly Kagome's not quite ready herself, yet.) I'd argue that Kikyou's resurrection arc and the arcs following shortly after that I linked moments from earlier are there to just cement that he doesn't see her as Kikyou to any viewers who are still skeptical. In the manga anyway, we're never shown Inuyasha pining for Kikyou or wishing she was back to life. Quite the opposite, he only wishes her to rest in peace and reach Nirvana, which he has said to her more than once. The closest we get is this line right after the resurrection arc comes to an end and Kikyou's presumed dead from the cliff:

Hello!

Which I personally interpret as him still being heartbroken, yes, but the fact he brings up the idea of falling for another woman tells me he's still mulling over how he has romantic feelings for Kagome, and his trauma regarding romance making him wonder if he should backpedal on that or give up his initial goal that was a symptom of his heartbreak in the first place. (As in, he immediately stole the Jewel after Kikyou betrayed him essentially to make the hurt go away as soon as possible. Also note this is AFTER the almost-kiss, right before Miroku makes his appearance.) So I have a pretty hard time believing that he suddenly decided to lie to Kagome right after his entire breakthrough night of vulnerability with her, and how that affected him. Also keep in mind that Kagome doesn't have concrete feelings for Inuyasha yet, so there is no jealousy or lack of confidence where Kikyou is concerned at the point of time in question. One could (shakily imo) argue that he might lie to protect her feelings later on, when he's worried about her becoming angry or jealous, but he has no such reason to lie, here. Therefore I believe he's being extremely genuine, and probably the most genuine he's been so far since he decided to abandon his previous lie about disliking her scent. I truly think he wanted to find out what kissing was like with this spitfire girl who'd run away with his heart already and made him feel and share things he'd never felt or shared with anyone. I hope this at least elaborated on why I see that scene the way I do! If you have questions or want me to discuss an aspect of it further, don't hesitate to hit up my inbox again! I'm happy to share my thoughts on the series and especially InuKag!

So, about a hundred years ago @mustardyellowsunshine issued a handful of fic writing challenges. I started and abandoned several. Here’s one I randomly decided to finish, I’m so sorry to inflict it on you lmao.

Written in response to the Dialogue Only challenge. This...doesn’t deserve a title lol.

“Just go.”

“I can’t.”

“Just go!”

“I can’t!!”

“Kagome!”

“Inuyasha!”

“Stop being stubborn and just go.”

“This is so embarrassing!”

“What? I’m your husband!”

“So?? It’s bad enough we had to get a chamber pot for the million times I have to pee at night, but this—!”

“Please, you think Miroku never did this for Sango while she was pregnant? I guarantee he did!”

“Inuyasha, you dug me my hole, thankyouverymuch, but really I can take it from here.”

“Pfff, what, so you can lose your balance and fall ass-first into that hole and not be able to get up? Then I’d just have to come get you anyway.”

“...”

“Here, just...keep hold of my hand so you can squat down...”

“I’m actually going to die.”

“Shaddup. I know you’ve been having problems with this and now you finally need to go so just do it!”

“Okayyyyyeargh! Oh, ouch! Ow, ow, ow ow ow owowowowouch—! Ohhhhh thank goodness...”

“There, see?”

“Mmhmm.”

“Don’t let go, just use your other hand.”

“I am! Oh, geez...”

“What’s wrong?”

“Nothing, just...a little blood.”

“You okay?”

“Yeah I’m fine. Not really surprising, the way that stung.”

“If you’re sure. Alright up you go...one, two, hup—!”

“Well, I still maintain this is the most humiliating moment of this pregnancy. And I’m counting when I puked in front of your brother.”

“Ha!! That was great. Sprayed on his fur and everything.”

“Don’t remind me!”

“Just let me fill this in and I’ll take you to the stream to wash up...holy shit Kagome.”

“What??”

“No really. Holy shit. The gods must have helped you push that thing out.”

“Don’t look at it!!”

“Honestly, I’m impressed. I don’t think I’ve ever taken a shit that big.”

“Shut up!!”

“It’s damn near the same size as Shippo.”

“Inuyasha.”

“Looks like something Sesshomaru would drop in his true form.”

“INUYASHA!”

“I think I need to show this to Miroku, we can’t just bury this legend without anyone else seeing it.”

“I am going to murder you.”

“Really Kagome, you should be proud of yourself. And hell, you can stop worrying about pushing out the baby when you already handled that fucking thing!”

“You really want me to ‘s’ you when you’re standing over that hole?”

“You wouldn’t!!”

Control

I uh, so this happened.  Happy Sinday all, this is like HELLA HARDCORE for what I usually write, so please be forewarned about that.

Enjoy, my loves!  Shout out to @xxkagomexx for fueling this one ;]

“Just concentrate, Inu-Yasha.”  Kagome chided lightly, her husband huffing in the middle of the hut.  He didn’t see the importance of this, but ever since Kagome had learned how to better control her reiki, she’d been insistent on Inu-Yasha learning to control his youki.

“I don’t need it,” he countered.  “I got my sword and that’s enough.”

“But wouldn’t you like to have control over those transformations?”  She mentioned to him sweetly.  Inu-Yasha knew what she was trying to do, win him over.

“Like I said, I don’t need to.”  He saw the pleading look in her eyes, her hands clasped in front of her.  The hanyou continued to huff but gave in, and hours of training later, the two had actually made progress.  His demon markings were becoming more and more pronounced as they continued, though honestly, it was exhausting to keep up.

“Don’t give up now, you’re so close!”  Kagome rooted him on, placing a gentle kiss on his cheek where the purple mark had just faded.

“Kagome.” Inu-Yasha refuted, crossing his arms and raising a brow.  At this, his wife deflated a bit, realizing that maybe she was indeed being too pushy.  Despite this, she still wanted to see him do it.  The possibilities were endless to him if he could.  With those blue eyes swimming with such excitement, Inu-Yasha sighed.  “Fine.  But this is the last time.”

"Hindi ko Alam" when translated, it means "I Do Not Know". The title suits the content of the essay. It dives into the life of a student, specifically on highschool when us students are experiencing from our easygoing childhood to learning teenagers to young adults. It is when students experience confusion and embarrassment. Unpleasant memories that will probably influence our mentality. But we get through those tough times with the friends we formed bonds with. It shows that we are not alone on suffering through that stage of life, everyone eventually experienced those times at their lowest.

We should learn to pick ourselves up and accept help from others, because it's okay to make mistakes, to stumble on our journey in life, and move on with life.

inukag's conversation in ch 176... yea that one

This scene at the well in Ch 176, when Kagome asks to stay by Inuyasha, meant a lot to me
so I decided to do a whole ass formal translation for myself (which you can read at the way bottom, but it's probably not too different from what's already out there.)

While translating, I came across 3 details from the original text that I felt were super important đŸ€§

Inukag's Conversation In Ch 176... Yea That One
Inukag's Conversation In Ch 176... Yea That One

① Everyone knows Inuyasha said that he must "give Kikyo his life" in the official Viz translation. Yes, in the original text, Inuyasha says:

ć‘œæ‡žă‘ă§ćżœăˆăȘくちゃăȘらねえ。 In return, I must stake my life for Kikyo.

But that bolded part implies that staking his life for Kikyo is not something he necessarily wants to do out of his own free will, but something that he must do beyond his own will, if that makes sense. Right here, Inuyasha conveys clearly how he feels about the matter.

If he meant to say that he chose this out of his own volition, he would've said something like "...ăȘくちゃいけăȘい" which implies a will out of choice... But no, he said ăȘらăȘい, which implies it's "out of his control", so that gives clear insight to his feelings. He's not doing this because he wants to. He wants to stay with Kagome if he could, but he thinks his duty binds his fate to Kikyo, so therefore, this must be so.

+

② Usually, Kagome is translated saying (to Inuyasha) "I want you to live." But I noticed something. She says:

"ç”ŸăăŠăŠă»ă—ă„" ....not just "ç”ŸăăŠă»ă—ă„".

You might think, "Wha? That extra little word changes things?" HAHA well, if you care to know why... yes... bc she's using the present progressive form of that verb. So, I feel there's something missing in that translation.

Kagome doesn't just want Inuyasha to live (as in "be alive"), she wants him to keep on living. She wants to see him live past his trauma, to not give up his life. So, this is a bit of an interpretation, but I personally would translate what she's saying as "I want you to live on." Like when we wish for a friend going through hard times to not succumb to darkness :(

⑱ Finally, Sunrise had Kagome say something different in her final monologue (wow, what a surprise). (Note, Viz actually did translate this appropriately in the manga.)

In the anime, she just says...

æ„œă—ă‚“ă§ă»ă—ă„ă€‚ I want you to be happy.

It's cute, but in the manga, she says...

æ„œă—ă„ă“ăšăŒă‚ăŁăŠă‚‚ă„ă„ă€‚ -> literally: It's okay to have happiness. -> It's okay (for you) to feel happy.

She's reassuring Inuyasha that it's alright to feel happiness, presumably despite his survivor's guilt. He told her at the start of their conversation, "But
to feel happy, to laugh, I shouldn't be doing these things." This is a response to that. It's so sweet.

THAT'S IT!! There was A LOT of weight to this scene. It made me ugly cry until my eyes got swollen lol...

(if you'd like to read my full translation of their conversation, it is right here below~)

Inukag's Conversation In Ch 176... Yea That One

Note: I tried to translate as close to the original nuance of the Japanese text, so the sentence structure may sound unnatural at times.

(SFX: refreshing breeze)

Inuyasha: Kagome...

(Kagome sees him and begins to speak.)

Kagome: I thought about this the whole time I was back home. About you, Kikyo, and me

Inuyasha: Kagome
 I

Kagome: I know. I know what your feelings are; that's why
 I thought I can't be here anymore.

Inuyasha: Kagome
until I met you, I couldn't trust anyone. But you cried for my sake, you were always by my side. When I'm with you, Kagome, I feel happy. My heart is at ease. But
to feel happy, to laugh, I shouldn't be doing these things.

Inuyasha: Kikyo
she followed after me in death. In return, I must stake my life for Kikyo.

Kagome: I understand. I can't compete against her... because I still live.

Kagome: I thought about her a whole lot too. Kikyo and I, we're so completely different. Even with all this stuff about how I'm her reincarnation
well, anyway, I'm not Kikyo. My heart is my own.

Kagome: But you see, there is one thing. How Kikyo is feeling... I get it. I feel the same. We both want to see you, Inuyasha, one more time.

Kagome: You know, somehow, when I thought, "Don't Kikyo and I share the same feelings?", I became a little more at ease. Like, our feelings of wanting to see you are the same, aren't they... So, I gathered up the courage, and came to see you.

Inuyasha: Kagome
As for me, I wanted to see you too. But

Kagome: I want to be with you*, Inuyasha. To forget about you, I can't do it.

(*T/N: She does not mean "be with you" in a romantic sense. She means to literally be near him, to exist by him, etc.)

Inuyasha: Kagome
what's the best way for me to respond to you?

Kagome: Inuyasha, let me ask you just one thing?

Inuyasha: Yeah

Kagome: Is it okay if I stay with you?

(SFX: surprise...)

Inuyasha: You'll
 stay for me?

Kagome: Yeah
 (she smiles.)

Inuyasha and Kikyo's bond absolutely cannot be severed. That... I understand. But you know, Inuyasha? I thought about it
Our meeting was not just a coincidence either.

I want you to live on, Inuyasha.

Kagome: Let's go, Inuyasha.

Inuyasha: O-Oh, yeah, okay...

It's okay to feel happiness. I want you to laugh a lot. I don't know what I can do for you, but

I will always be by your side.
