Hi!!! What is your personal headcanons on which homunculi has a favorite sibling?
Hi Anon! Thanks for sending the ask, this was cool. Sorry it took so long, I hope you like it :)
Pride – Because Pride lived a long time as an only child, he didn’t actually want any siblings at first, because he thought he was perfect enough to help Father without them. He got lonely after at time, so slowly accepted the necessity of Father creating the others. It’s not like he actually had any say in the matter anyway, despite Father indulging Pride when he was young.
Pride watched Father’s design process for Lust, and the long time they spent together before Greed’s creation cemented her as his favourite sibling. He found Greed relatively interesting in his design documents, too, but that went away quickly when he was born because of his personality, but he didn’t hate him until he deserted them.
To go on a little tangent, Homunculi only get to see the designs of those that were made after. Pride got to see all of Father’s designs (except his own) and was able to notice them degenerating, but he’d never admit that out loud, even after the experiment regarding Gluttony’s Gate failed.
Secretly, Pride sees it as himself possessing the most of Father’s real essence, and that the others must have gotten less of it as they went. Hence, Lust remains his favourite, as she is the one who received the most next to him.
Lust – Lust cares for all her siblings, but as her only older sibling, Pride is her favourite. She enjoys getting some time to relax and not have to pick up the pieces after him like with her younger siblings. Of course, she has a soft spot for Gluttony, and Envy too because of how often they are sent on missions together in more recent times. She definitely helps the Homunculi stay together as a family, and they become a lot more scattered and disorganised after her death.
Greed – Greed tried to get along with all his siblings, since it’s easier to get what you want if you don’t cause a fuss. His birth caused a shake up in the 50 year long status quo though, and Pride was a bit of a hardass at first with him, while Lust was the good cop and humoured him from time to time, though Greed still got his share of violent punishments from her if he pissed her off. He was glad to finally get a younger sibling with Envy, but still didn’t have a favourite really. He tries to avoid thinking about his siblings at all after his desertion, and if he does only negatively. Like when he hears about Barry the Chopper in Central on the radio or in the newspaper, Greed spitefully hopes that he’s causing his siblings a lot of trouble there.
Envy – Envy got along reasonably well with all his older siblings when he was young, though he was wary of Pride because of the debacle with the horse racing scheme (though it was more Greed’s bad planning), and his generally aloof nature. As the closest to him in age he hanged out with Greed a lot later on, since he let him get away with more stuff. This tripped Envy up in the end though, since he was so lax that Greed managed to run away right at the tail end of the 4th Crest, and Envy hated Greed ever since. Mostly he’s just now took his place as part of Lust’s ‘even numbered homunculi’ trio (4th and 6th), and she is his favourite sibling. He misses her terribly after her death and turns into her lots of times to try and cheer himself up.
Sloth – No opinion on any of them, really. These days he only interacts with Pride while he’s working in the Tunnel, and before he was sent there Sloth only saw his other siblings (Lust, Greed and Envy) for a few weeks or months after his creation.
Gluttony – Gluttony is friendly to all his siblings, but obviously appreciates Lust best of all.
Wrath – No favourite. They all pretty much teased him when he was young, and because he’s lastborn will always be the baby of the family. They humour him from time to time, like when Lust instructed him on talking to the future Mrs Bradley (but he didn’t listen to her and followed Envy’s advice anyway), but he doesn’t have a favourite between them. I mean, he went through like 35/40 years of being a Homunculus and never even learned that Gluttony prefers to devour little girls compared to other humans.
Nowadays he has Pride living with him and scolding him a lot, so they don’t enjoy living together. Things change a little when Pride starts warming up to Mrs Bradley, but that just means Wrath gets less time to spend with her, so even if it’s less fraught, it’s still an awkward living arrangement.

AU where some xerxes ruins get found by people before Plot and hohenheim walks into an obscure museum exhibit on the lost country of xerxes with new archaeological finds from a desert expedition and appears to mutter to himself for ages wandering around the hall before going "excuse me miss. you found my friend's favorite vase but appear to have put it together wrong"
i would add to this but frankly it is already perfection. van walking relic hohenheim politely puts his hand up at the back of the guided tour like "i fully understand how you ended up interpreting it this way but actually you've got the market on the wrong side of town. i can draw a map?" he adds like that's even the main problem here. security is uncertain what to do about him. as is the poor hapless research team, who are torn between potentially having a primary source to cite at the risk of the entire field calling them frauds
This didn't age well
Many people say that, in this opening, SessRin is compared to InuKag, but I don’t think so. If you see this succession of scenes carefully, you will realize that, while in Moroha’s scene the background images are all of Inuyasha and Kagome, in the part where Towa and Setsuna appear, we see scenes about Sesshomaru’s development as a character and his growth as a person in relation to other characters like Kagura and Kohaku. Those are not just images of Sesshomaru and Rin:
First we see the scene in which Sesshomaru remembers Kagura’s death and says he will be the one to decide if she died for nothing. It’s interesting that here we see the empty stairways; an empty place a person should be occupying, but I don’t think it’s Rin because she is already in the background. Giving us this scene of Sesshomaru thinking about Kagura reminds us of how important she was to him and his development as a character.
Then we have two background images. The first is Rin. This makes sense since we all know she was very important to Sesshomaru’s growth, (after all, she is his adopted daughter.) But in the following image something caught my attention: Sesshomaru is holding Tenseiga and the moon is behind him. This scene is from Chapter 20, when Inuyasha, Kagome and Sango are fighting Naraku, who wants the fragment of Kohaku. At one point, Kohaku is captured but the one who saves him is none other than Sesshoumaru. This scene in the opening is Sesshomaru saving Kohaku. And I love that, because they are indicating how important their relationship is as well. I also find it interesting that just at the moment when Sesshomaru’s two biological daughters appear, Sunrise decides to show two images related to the two human children he cared for. Could that be indicating that they position Kohaku and Rin as his children as well?
Then we have an image that at first glance, seems to be only about Sesshoumaru and Rin, but specifically is when Sesshomaru decides to save the souls that are in hell. That also shows the growth Sesshomaru has experienced, deciding to save many human souls. Finally, the last scene here is from when Sesshomaru obtains Bakusaiga, putting aside his grudge and pursuit of his father’s power and thus acquiring his own sword. In conclusion, I don’t think this opening is trying to validate SessRin, instead, I think it shows the growth process Sesshomaru has had.
