"Danny did you do something with my boss's bike?"
Danny stared at the lake where Jason's bike now rested at the bottom, "I uhhh... moved it."
"Were?!!!"
Danny coughed awkwardly. "Uhm. Give me a second."
"........ was that explosion on the bridge because of you?"
".... no?"
"Please tell me that my boss' bike isn't at the bottom of the lake because you decided to hotwire did it and then take a ride before picking a fight with a villain on the bridge."
"Okay, then I won't."
"...."
"...."
"Danny!!"
"I'll get it back! Just give me a few minutes, I swear!"
"You're so dead! No, you're going to be even more dead when I'm done with you! Daniel J. Fenton! Get that bike back or so help me—"
————
Two people stood in front of the Red Hood, one who was whistling nervously while the other had her arms crossed irritatedly. Behind them was a dripping wet motorbike.
Red Hood stared at them blankly.
"Wolf? Do you want to explain?"
Through gritted teeth, Wolf said, "Please don't worry about it, Hood."
"My bike is wet."
"... brilliant observation."
Red Hood sighed and looked up at the sky for a moment before he looked back down and then shook his head silently, still speechless.
Wolf wilted and then said, "I'll pay you back, Hood."
Red Hood sighed. She was so cute sometimes and he was weak.
He ignored the sudden death glare from Wolf's little brother, waved a hand, and then said, "Alright, I'll come back in a few hours and I want my bike to be fixed, dry, and running, capiche?"
There were two mumbled, "Yes sir"s, before Red Hood turned away with a shake of his head.
No wonder Wolf was so weirdly competent. With siblings like that, she was probably running herself ragged.
There’s that temper of yours again.
How to pull a Batman by J. Constantine
John Constantine wouldn't say he was quite fond of children. He's not fatherly by any means so he knows that he's not suitable for raising children. It's just that he somehow ends up with a young girl at his front door (how she found the house of mystery, he's not sure). The little girl looked normal but she felt off. Too drenched in death to be a run-of-the-mill child. Her red hair seemed to turn into flames at the tips, and her eyes were eerily teal and glowed. Everything about her seemed wrong.
"Hello." She murmured, "Clockwork told me to come find you."
And she was just blinking, looking utterly uncanny as John reluctantly welcomed her into the house. "Master of Time?" He hesitated, knowing that amongst the many powerful beings he'd met the ancient of time had been one of them. A mirthful entity who seemed amused by the chaos and order of the multiverse.
"He told me to give you this!" The girl fished out a glowing green paper from... y'know, he's not sure.
And in mocking calligraphy the words:
"You owe me :). p.s. there's more."
was directed at John like a fucking signal.
Great... Being indebted to the cosmic entity of time has made him a father.
He thought it'd happen one time. Just once. Little Jasmine was adept at the occult and got along well with ghosts, often playing peacemaker when one of them tried bothering Constantine. She was concerningly liminal for a twelve-year-old child, but she brushed it of for the fact that her siblings were either halfas or very liminal. Was he concerned, admittedly yes.
It wasn't until there was a pounding at the door again did he start praying to any god willing to listen. But no. The sentient house practically dragged him through the halls and led him to where Jazz was eagerly waiting, a grin on her face.
"My baby brothers are here!" She excitedly says, eyes practically sparkling as she grabs him by the hand.
"Slow down, darlin'. They won't bloody leave if we slow down." He sighed in exasperation, before pulling the door open. Two pairs of eyes stared into his very soul, making his breath hitch.
Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. What the hell was Clockwork sending him?!
"Danny! Dan" Jazz squealed, dragging the two halfas into the house. One with green eyes and another with red.
"Clockie wasn't kidding when he said he's a sad guy in a trench coat." The one with green eyes muttered, still floating and staying close to Jazz and his twin.
"Clockwork slept with that?" The red-eyed one unabashedly judged. "Another fruitloop..." The boy snarled.
John Constantine could already predict the future at this point.
Daniel and Dante take to the house immediately, haunting it to their hearts content.
In the course of four years, the hellblazer drowns in the depths of fatherhood, making sure that no one could find out about his children. No. Not even Batman.
He'd be damned (even more) than let anyone involve the best parts of his life in contingency plans and whatnot.
His kids grow up to be a rowdy and peculiar bunch.
His eldest, Jazz, was turning out to be one hell of a magician. Especially in necromantic arts that he's tried not to touch many times.
The twins, Danny and Dante were little hellions that made him want to tear his hair out. Its later on when Clockwork comes to visit their children (because its joint custody now) that he's informed that one is the crown prince of the realms and to be king upon the expiration of his mortality, and the other was an alternate version of him and was dubbed the world destroyer.
His fourth child and second daughter had come in the form of Sam, who had popped up in the house and was decorating it with plants he from different dimensions. Also, she was apparently a green witch that now had the powers of the spirit known as undergrowth. The house was green.
His fifth child came in the form of a boy with a red hat and a laptop clutched against his chest. Tucker had seemed so harmless and sweet compared to his older siblings... until John found him performing ancient egyptian rituals and casually hacking into the Pentagon for fun.
His last (Thank god) daughter was a zoomie toddler. Little Elle had arrived three years after Jazz did. A five year old with such intense wanderlust that he was tempted to buy one of those harness leash thingies parents had their children wear. Also, like the twins in which she was the clone of, she was one hell of a child being directly connected to the speed force.
So in conclusion, John Constantine was the father of three children on the verge of becoming Ancients, a highly intelligent girl with a very deep connection to death, the successor of fucking Undergrowth, and a boy who could effortlessly hack into government systems whilst being a pharao-in-training.
Batman must never know.
In the far future, John Constantine battles it out with Bruce Wayne, who's children thought it was a good idea to start flirting with his hellions.
Constantine: TO HELL WITH YOU IF YOU THINK IM LETTING MY PERFECT JAZZY PANTS DATE YOUR FLIPPY SON!
Bruce: SHE'S GOOD FOR HIM!
Constantine: YEAH WILL IS HE GOOD FOR HER?!
And then it gets worse once John catches the Red Hood displaying some ghostly courting behaviour towards Dan. And he's just.
Constantine: Tell your children to back off.
Bruce: You think I haven't tried???
Then comes Danny and Tim with their unhinged behavior. Constantine isn't even mad about the fact that his son is dating one of the Bats. He's just concerned about the chaos with these two.
Bruce: okay, that one is not allowed. How do we get them to break up?
Constantine who's already witnessed Danny making plans to brutally murder Ra's for some spleen: Yeah, no. Good luck with that one.
By the time it's just Sam, Tucked, and Elle, he's praying it's not one of the Bats.
He really is.
Tucked is emmersed in his work but that didn't stop him from befriending Bart Allen and the current Kid Flash. Time travel is the one they usually discuss. (Dante and Constantine were very much on the same page when it came to keeping them just friends.)
And then Sam somehow ends up catching the attention of a daughter of Zeus. By this point, Constantine was preparing to fight god again and would have to ask his ex for a favor.
He's just so happy his precious princess Elle was being a sweet fifteen years old and wasn't daring crazy people.
(Damian was being rather suspicious...)

Dani was completely flawless in everything she did, or so she proudly stated to everyone, which was true to some extent. She handles most of the missions handed to her by the Justice League dark with flying colors, she was sometimes called in to replace Constantine when the man was unavailable, finding lost scrolls, and performing magic she could do with ease, but she was not perfect she knows that well.
So, when she accidentally angered one of the most powerful demons to ever exist dangering not only herself but also the whole embassy of the Justice League, up to the main heroes and then down to Young Justice, Dani knew she kinda fucked up and made an error in her calculations on how much she could taunt the said demon, and now everyone was panicking which was...
Not an ideal condition for her because when everyone panics, she also starts panicking, not because the demon she angered was now spewing threats here and there (which was one of the corniest villain monologues she had ever heard).
No, she was afraid considering that since she had disturbed the peace between the living and the supernatural which was technically the dead if you based it on the horror movie franchise —BUT that was not the point, the point is that she cannot control the current situation, and that means she needed to get help from her....Brother....Eugh.
'Let's just get over this.' she sighed as she grabbed a dagger from her chest cavity, Dani's movements caught the eye of everyone present in the room, the ones that weren't occupied by the demon were watching her carefully to make sure the little ghost doesn't make anything worse than it is.
One, Dani closed her eyes.
Two, she took a deep breath.
Three—then she sliced her palm with the dagger, green ectoplasm oozing out of the wound.
Four. Everyone panicked.
Five. Finally, A portal surfaced.
It took only five seconds for Danny to head her call, exactly 20 minutes to calm the dispute happening, and 7 seconds for Phantom to regain his composure to look at his younger sister in the eye.
Dani avoided eye contact with her brother, not just her brother, while also avoiding eye contact with everyone in the room at the same time, whistling innocently as if nothing had ensued, Dani tried her luck and glanced at the levitating figure a few paces before her.
Phantom looked so done and constipated at the same time, Dani wanted to take a picture and show it to Dan afterwards.
"I'm at a loss for words."
"Despite being ‘at a loss for words’, Danny scolded me for the next 45 minutes."
Sigh. . . Tim Joker Jr. AU incorrect quotes because I don't wanna start writing the fic till I plan everything out and have a decent understanding of Stephanie, Cass, and Babs as characters and the timeline. The. Timeline. But gods, my own AU lives rent free in my head and I'm the only one able to make the content I want of it...
Context: Bruce stuck Tim in Arkham following the J.J. incident, Dick didn't exactly agree, but he didn't protest, nobody visited Tim for the two years he was there. Jason came back and decided Tim was his now. Now take backs.
Jason: Whatchu... Whatchu doin' there, Little Red?
Tim, glaring at the ice in his drink: Trying to see if you drugged me...
Jason: Why would I drug ya?
Tim: Same reason the guards and docs at Arkham did, 'cause I'm "crazy" and "dangerous."
Jason: . . . Well, that's bull. Here, lemme see that.
Jason, taking a sip of Tim's drink before handing it back: See? Not drugged.
Tim: . . . Thanks, riding hood.
Jason: No problem, little red.
—
Tim: . . . I don't feel real.
Jason: Ya look real.
Tim: Is time real? I don't think it is... I think it's made up. It doesn't feel real, what is time but an illusion of control humanity made to call the spinning of our planet?
Jason: . . . Let's just get you a weighted blanket.
—
Clark: I hear things have been rough in Gotham lately, new vigilantes?
Bruce: It's under control.
Clark: Yeah, yeah, of course! I'm just saying, if you ever need help—
Bruce: It. Is under. Control.
Clark: . . .
Jason who's taken over the Iceberg lounge and became the most notorious and dangerous Crime lord in Gotham city with territory in Crime Alley, the Bowery, and Robinsville:
Tim who has been equipping Jason and his trusted goons with tech that rivals the bats and setting random things on fire, including tampering with the Bat computers files:
Stephanie who has been sabotaging Batman and co. for weeks and planting evidence against various enemies to get them served longer sentences and running circles around Cass (it's enemies to friends to lovers, trust, gang) while also actively helping Jason take down Black Mask:
Selina who fully ditched Bruce and has been assisting the Red Hood and Spoiler while stealing from the rich in Bristol:
Bruce, sighing: So under control.
—
Dick: So, uh, B, y'know how Jason's back..?
Bruce: Yes, things are... Complicated, but I'm hoping that overtime we can come to an agreement an—
Dick: He broke Joker Junior out of Arkham.
Bruce:
Bruce: F#&$.
—
Jason, sighing heavily: Just me,
Jason, looking to Selina: My emotionally adopted Mom,
Jason, looking to Stephanie: My emotionally adopted pest,
Jason, looking to Tim: And my emotionally adopted little brother.
Tim: :D
—
Cassandra, sitting beside Stephanie on a rooftop: You're the enemy.
Stephanie: What makes me the enemy? Because I work with the Red Hood, or 'cause I'm fine with him killing?
Cassandra: Both.
Stephanie: . . . Y'know, I became Spoiler at first for the rush, 'cause it made me feel like I finally had power over my life. I could stop my Dad and the drug dealers and help my Mom, I could actually... I could actually do things, y'know? I'm not, like, just some random bystander. Batman didn't think that was a valid reason, I guess.
Cassandra: . . . Why do you still do it . . ? Still for the "rush?"
Stephanie: Now? Well, now... Now I do it 'cause it makes me happy. It feels right, y'know? It's given me everything Stephanie Brown never had, like Tim and Jason. I... I never really had a family before. Not a proper one.
Cassandra: I . . . understand that. Didn't like my family, Father or Mother. Oracle? I feel like I am... Home. Batman feels like... family.
Stephanie: Well... I'm glad you like your family. Sorry I hate 'em.
Cassandra: Sorry I hate yours.
Stephanie: 't's whatever. I'll still beat you up next time you try to attack Red Hood or Catwoman though.
Cassandra: You'll lose again.
Stephanie: I'll hit you with a brick again.
Cassandra: . . . I hate you.
Stephanie, laughing: Why!?
Cassandra: Because you... Make me feel. I don't like the feeling you give me.
Stephanie: Why not?
Cassandra: It makes me think things Batman wouldn't like...
Stephanie: Like what?
Cassandra, whispering: Like I should kiss you.
—
Tim, standing in the middle of Selina's apartment: Permission to pet all your cats?
Selina: . . . Permission granted.
Tim, cackling as he begins to pet every single cat:
Jason: How long ya think that'll take him?
Selina: At least five hours.
Jason: Damn.
—
Jason, standing in front of a flaming warehouse in Black Mask's territory: And what do you two have to say for yourselves!?
Tim, holding his flamethrower behind his back: I love you?
Stephanie: Womp womp!
—
Tim, standing next to Jason's sleeping body: . . .
Jason, slowly waking up:
Jason: HOLY— What are you doing up!?
Tim: I had to make sure you didn't get killed by the spiders.
Jason: What spiders?!
Tim: The ones in my head.
Tim, slowly covering Jason with a blanket again: This'll keep them off you.
Jason: . . . Thanks?
Tim: You're welcome! Now, if you'll excuse me I need to go flick the kitchen light exactly sixty times in order to prevent my arm from falling off.
Jason, watching as Tim walks away: . . . "A threat to Gotham" Bruce says,
Jason, throwing the blanket off himself to follow Tim: "Dangerous!" Dickface said!
Jason, rubbing a hand down his face: Danger to my damn electricity bill, more like...
—
Bruce, dropping down after hearing reports of a cult ritual being performed:
Jason, lying in the middle of a purple pentagram drawn poorly on the floor: Can we help you?
Tim, holding a flamethrower, slowly pointing it toward Batman:
Stephanie, in full Spoiler wear, eight months pregnant: We're kinda busy.
Selina, drinking a glass of wine from the side: Go away, Bat, they're under my supervisor.
Bruce, gesturing to the scene: This is outside Red Hood's territory, I have a right to ask.
Jason: No, you don't.
Stephanie: We'll give Tim permission to start shooting.
Tim: I already have in my mind.
Bruce: You're in a condemned building, Stephanie is pregnant, why does... He have a flamethrower!
Jason: Questioning our parenting methods? Really?
Selina: Honestly, the audacity.
Stephanie: Say Tim's name, p#&%$!
Bruce: You know what? Never mind.
Tim: Wow, the auditory hallucinations of you say my name and acknowledge me more than you.
Bruce: I... I'll just go.
Tim, sticking his tongue out as Bruce leaves:
Stephanie: Alright! Back to getting Jason his soul back!
—
Random bird:
Tim, making bird noises:
Random bird:
Jason: You good there, Little Red?
Tim: Yeah, we're talking politics!
Jason: Nice.
—
Dick standing right outside Crime Alley: I'm not in Crime Alley!
Jason: Get out!
Dick: I'm not in your territory!
Tim, jumping down with his flamethrower: Are you flame proof? :D
Dick: Tim.. C'mon, please, I'm trying!
Tim, aiming: Remember that time you stole my cookie during patrol and I stayed mad at you for a month?
Dick: . . . Yes.
Tim: Imagine how I feel about you not even VISITING ME in ARKHAM for TWO YEARS!
Jason: Begone! I'm the favorite brother.
Dick: We're still brothers?
Tim, putting his finger in the trigger, in a sing song voice: Not for long!

Bruce Wayne had been many things in his life: billionaire, businessman, vigilante, father. But a long-lost uncle? That was a new one.
The SOS from a small town in Illinois had sent him racing against time, but he had been too late. An accident had taken the lives of an unknown distant cousin and their entire family—except for one. The sole survivor was a boy named Danny, left blind from the incident. When Bruce had arrived, he saw no other option but to take him in, to give him the support he needed.
Months passed, and Danny quickly found a place within the Wayne family. He was kind, gentle, and an overall bright presence in the manor. But grief had its way of clinging to people, and Danny was no exception. He had his sad days, times when he retreated into himself and let silence be his shield. Even so, the Batfamily took to him, each in their own way.
There was just one thing about him that none of them could ignore: he gives out cryptic warnings.
It had started small. He would mention the weather, and it would turn exactly as he said. He would casually hand someone an item—a band aid, an extra set of gloves, a lucky charm—and say, "Be careful." And without fail, later that day, they would end up needing it. It might have been coincidences at first, but the pattern grew undeniable.
Danny could see the future. Or, at least, something close to it.
The family, skeptics that they were, had tried to prove otherwise. They set up small tests, all of which Danny passed without even realizing he was being tested. Eventually, they stopped trying to disprove it and started trying to understand it instead. Bruce, being Bruce, documented everything. Tim, ever the investigator, compiled data. Damian remained skeptical but watched his cousin with a hawk’s eye.
Then Danny was kidnapped.
It had been a random act—a desperate group of criminals seeking to ransom Bruce Wayne’s newest ward. They had no idea what they had walked into. The moment Danny went missing, the Batfamily mobilized. It was Red Robin who found him first.
Tim had worked swiftly, dismantling the criminals with precision, tying them up before they even had a chance to process what was happening. He had moved quietly, intent on assessing Danny’s condition before alerting the others. But before he could even speak, Danny, bound and blindfolded, tilted his head slightly and murmured, "...Tim?"
Tim froze.
It wasn’t a confident statement; it was uncertain, questioning. But Danny, who should have had no way of knowing, knows.
Daniel Jones and the Lost Artifact
dcxdp fic idea
Danny was running errands. It was his own fault really. He had made the decree keeping Ghosts in the Zone or Amity. He was the one that forbade them going anywhere else-least they cross paths with Hero or villain or Vigilante and get ~ideas~.
Just because it was the preferred option didn't mean he had to like it.
But who else would he send? Box Ghost? Skulker? no thank you.
Regardless, Ghosts were forbidden from going into the living world. But that didn't extend to their possessions and artifacts.
And fuck did the Ghost Zone accumulate a lot of shit over time.
Which even if only .01% of it found its way to Earth-that was still a lot of stuff.
Like Pandora's tablet. A ghost memo of the last day of Pompeii.
It had fallen through a natural portal and was somewhere on Earth.
Thankfully ghost artifacts were drawn to their 'living' counterparts. Which narrowed down the search-though, as Danny was learning- that definition could be incredibly broad, especially when their living counterpart was lost to time or a concept. (sometimes it was a living descendant of the original owner. sometimes it was a Costco at 3am, sometimes it was a random kindergartener who really vibed with clay figurines)
Danny had already ruled out Pompeii and the British History museum (a place he'd rescued to many artifacts from already)
Which left the Smithsonian in D.C next on his list (he was following Percy Jackson logic here ok? D.C was the 21st centuries Rome, so it made some kind of sense that the Tablet would be here. No, this wasn't just an excuse to see the Air and Space Museum Sam. Fuck off).
He'd been doing this long enough that he even had an Indiana Jones esk identity that allowed him access to archives and special collections around the world (he replaced the ghostifact with a living copy where possible or staged a robbery where not) (he had written so many papers for this cover)(it was unbearable).
So it was a matter of an email to get himself an open invite to the Natural History Museums subfloors. and then just flashing his ID once he was there to get in, he'd been there enough over the years that it was more of a formality than anything else, but he understood the caution and never complained. Just followed security down the elevator and down a few hallways until he found the right department and waved them off.
He meets up with his contact, a Diana Prince, and they start exchanging pleasantries and what not. Danny walks by someone working on a translation of what they thought was a variation of The Odyssey but were having trouble making sense of whatever regional dialect it had been transcribed in. Danny looks over their shoulder out of curiosity and starts live translating the piece. Turns out it was a self insert version written by a school aged child. And they were having trouble reading it because of the usage of slang and spelling mistakes.
Danny's easy translation piques Diana's interest, for even she had had difficulty reading the artifact and it was written in her first language! While she's not as paranoid as a certain other member of the Justice League, she wouldn't have survived this long if she didn't do basic checking up on people. And maybe he really was just a professor from the midwest, maybe he was a god testing her, maybe he was also someone from the old world, stuck here, out of place and out of time.
Which is why his particular interest in their newly discovered artifacts had her accompanying him long after she would typically have left him too it. Excusing herself only for a moment so as to send the man's information along to Gotham with an ask to verify his education. They would be able to get back to her far sooner than anyone else. Because the longer she was in his presence the more she noticed, and the greater her suspicions became. He was too comfortable. His often handed remarks to specific. His muttered comments belaying knowledge even a researcher of his caliber shouldn't just know. It spoke of an intimacy she hadn't felt since she first entered the world of man all those years ago. It made her ache for her sisters. For her people. For a life she would never again be able to have.
Who was Dr. Daniel Jones? (she hoped he was like her)
One night while in patrol.
Barbara (over the coms): Nightwing, Spoiler, I need you two to head to Gotham City Bank, there's a robbery in progress.
Dick and Steph: On it!
Barbara: Batman, Red Hood, and Phamtom, I need you in the harbor, the Penguin is sneaking in some kind of nuclear material.
Bruce: Can you see what kind?
Barbara: Working on it.
Bruce: Got it, on my way.
Jason: On it!
Danny: See you guys there!
Barnard: Red Robin, Robin, I need you two at Gotham Museum, Condiment King just broke in.
Damian: Got it!
Tim: Got it- wait, Barnard!?
Barbara (holding back laughter): Red Robin! How many times do I have to say this? Code names!
Tim (confused): I'm sorry what's happening?
Barnard: Well I've seen how hard you and your family always work, as well as Superboy and his family, so I decided I also wanted to help. I asked Superboy and he recommend I ask Oracle if she needed an extra set of hands.
Barbara: Which I gladly accepted, all of you are a lot to deal with.
Barnard: Batman approved, so now I'm in the clocktower with Oracle.
Tim (happy): Really? You did all that for me? You and Superboy are always looking out for me.
Barnard: Of course, we do anything for you, and by the way my code name is The Prophet.
Tim: Welcome to the team, Prophet.
Barnard: Thank you Red Robin.
Damian: This is cute and all, but I still need you at the museum Red Robin.
Tim: On my way!
(Master Post)
This is just another shitpost, a copy and paste from what I spammed my friend at like 5pm- ish Jason or Red-Hood who's known for having 'information from the dead/graves' but his boyfriend is Danny 'phantom' Fenton and will just yap to his boyfriend over ghost gossip and not even realize that he's sharing new/unheard of information to Jason over crimes and other things happening around Gotham or in crime alley
People gossip but the dead talk, and Danny is all too happy to have someone to listen to all the ghost drama with him that the man will yap to Jason for hours. (Jason has timed it before, it got to hour 5 before he called it a day)
No one can figure out how why or when Jason started becoming two or three steps ahead of every villain/gang/goon/whatever, calling 'anonymous' tips into the batfam/police/whoever tf, days or even weeks before anything happened.
Jason who somehow ends up scaring the shit out of the bad guys because they 'changed their plans three times already to lose Red-hood' but yet, somehow, he's waiting for them by the time they arrive to where ever they were meeting up to do their illegal business with a coffee in hand and the police already called and arriving in 5 minutes.
Danny watched as Lois pulled out her phone and pulled up a recording app.
“What are you doing?”
“You came to a journalist and are surprised to get an interview?” She asked him, her tone clearly joking. “What you’ve given me here is great kid, but newspaper clippings and copies of federal laws don’t get the public’s attention. I need a story, Phantom’s the story.”
“I’m not Phantom.”
Lois looked at him, less than impressed. Slowly, she turned the screen of her computer until it was visible to both of them. There, in full clarity, was a front-page story from his hometown newspaper. ‘Danny Phantom saves Bus Full of Children!’ and there was a picture of him in his ghost form, his face crystal clear on her screen.
"Phantom’s a ghost. I’m just a dumb kid.” Danny tried again.
Lois pinched the bridge of her nose with her right hand and muttered to herself.
“Why do all you midwestern boys have the same schtick?”
“I’m sorry?” Danny said, unsure if he should be apologizing or not.
“Changing your last name from Fenton to Phantom does not a secret identity make kid. It might work for most civilians, but anyone familiar with the hero game will clock you from a mile away.”
“I’m not Phantom.”
“Sure, kid. But I’m sure you have a way for me to interview him, right? Because I want to talk to him before I do anything else about your town.”
Danny hugged himself and looked down at his knees.
“Is it really that bad?”
“Not the worst I’ve seen. Wonder Woman’s is paper thin. I'm pretty sure most people in DC know who she is outside of the cape and just don’t say anything because she scares them.”
Danny snorted involuntarily at that, looking back up at the woman.
“What’s going on in your town, Phantom? Why come to a journalist and not the Justice League?”
“The Anti-Ecto Acts got passed like a year ago. They state that only being that produces or contains ectoplasm above a certain amount is considered non-sapient and is to be turned over to the government for disposal.” Danny said. “I put the whole thing in there for you to read, but it's long. Amity Park has a lot of ectoplasm in it. It's seeped into the air and water. Normal human people have it in them now. At first, those agents were just firing at me whenever I finished a ghost fight. I could deal with that. Their aim is terrible anyway. But then they figured out that humans can become contaminated with ectoplasm. They decided that meant the entire town was under their jurisdiction. They've decided that means that no one in town counts as human anymore, that we don’t have rights, that they’re doing us a favor by not just exterminating the entire town like the law says.”
Danny leaned forward, putting his hands on the desk in front of Lois Lane. He looked right into her bright eyes and spoke seriously.
“When it was just ghosts under attack, I didn’t think anyone would care. I’ve tried calling the Justice League for help, but they’ve brushed me off. People need to know what’s happening. Anyone can become ecto-contaminated. You just have to be in the right place at the wrong time. It’s not right what’s happening to Amity, Miss Lane. I came to you because if anyone could get the world to listen, to believe, then it's got to be you.”
And Lois Lane smiled. It was a proud, eager smile. The kind of smile Danny had seen on Sam right after she convinced the school to serve a vegan lunch. He barely held back from shivering.
“Well then, Mr. Phantom.” Lois said, before tapping onto the recording app on her phone and starting a recording. “Let’s begin.”
