I just had to do it
Okay fuck it I'm done.
Remember that little rant I had a while ago about Jaehaera? And how she was just a little girl that deserved so much better?
Well today I saw this
And now there's an even bigger rant incoming.
I'm just flabbergasted, I don't know what to say except are you really this petty?
This person on Twitter commissioned a wonderful portrait of Aegon III's family, which looks great, I really have nothing against the artist, he was just doing his job.
Buut, as that user says
"Note a certain Doll tossed aside on the left next to Aegonđ"
So yes, a team black stan was so mad at the mere suggestion that Daenaera would be cut from the ending of hotd that they commissioned a well known Asoiaf/f&b artist to draw Aegon's family with a little doll to remind us that Jaehaera is dead and thus no longer in the way.
I just have to say...
What is wrong with you? Seriously, I admit I've spent some money on hotd/asoiaf related things out of passion for the story, but I've never gotten to the point of commissioning art to spite people in the fandom that have an opinion I don't agree with.
Also, alright, you don't like the greens, that's fine! We all have our own tastes. But this? It's just sick. Wanting a fictional, traumatized 10 year old girl to be dead so badly you pay people to remind everyone that she's gone is on another level. Cause I firmly believe this was drawn only for that reason, not to actually show a wholesome family portrait.
I'm so done with these people. Do they ever go outside of their mom's basements? Have they ever touched grass? I don't think so, otherwise they'd spend their money for better things than celebrating a child's death.
This is the kind of team black person who will happily watch blood and Cheese happen and cheer when Jaehaeys is decapitated.
The sheer toxicity of this fandom is unbelievable. I genuinely haven't seen this amount of pettyness since the days before the aot ending.
Get a life, seriously.
P.s
I got this image from the r/hotdgreens sub on Reddit.
ULTIMATE SHIPS CHALLENGE - High School Romance Ships [1/6] ⳠI heard what you said. What? (I knew exactly what.) I feel the same (insp)
Westerosi propaganda??
"if you believe westerosi historical propaganda" you guys it's so unbelievably over
âThe Blacks won because itâs Rhaenyraâs bloodline that continues on.â
Ok, first of all, Aegon II made Aegon III his heir. Rhaenyra was dragon chow by then. Rhaenyra wanted the iron throne more than anything else, and she only held power for 6 months before the small folk had enough of her bullshit. Six months. She managed to rule for half a year before she was overthrown, not by a usurper, but by her own people. Clearly, not a good ruler if you canât even make it a year without getting chased out of your castle.
Second, Rhaenyraâs bloodline managed to fumble the ball two feet from the finish line. It started with Aegon the Unworthy and it ended with the mad king being overthrown just before the long night. Just one more generation was all they needed to last, and they fucked everything up so bad it put the entire world of men at risk. That⊠that takes skill. You have to actively TRY to fuck up that much.
After the conquest, there was noted to be one âgoodâ king, and that was Jaehaerys. Between conquest and dance, Jaehaerys was noted as being a good, wise king. Aenys managed to have a mob trap his oldest two children in a distant castle right before he died. Then Maegor stepped in. He may have been decent if it werenât for the brain damage. Most of the things he did before the battle on the hill were either rumors or just not that bad. He was also very against Kinslaying. Imo, one of the worst things he did was punish everyone involved in the Kinslaying in The Eyrie. Seems kind of strange he would dole out such a harsh punishment only to then kill his nephew in a very one sided dragon battle. That was the first thing he did after he woke up, though. Considering he had such a drastic change in personality, we canât say how his rule would have been otherwise.
After Maegorâs death, Jaehaerys steps in. You know what made him a good, worthy king? Not the fact that he was a male, or could fight, or held the bloodline, or even that he rode the bronze fury. It was because he listened to the council of his queen. Alysanne was the real MVP of his reign. She did more for womenâs rights than any other queen. She listened to her people. That is the mark of a good ruler. Walk softly, but carry a big stick. Know when to speak and when to listen.
People who know they have power and control donât need to constantly remind others. They know. Itâs not necessary to maim or murder people for speaking the truth, yet Viserys and Rhaenyra do just that.
When Saera majorly fucked up, they handled it. Not the way Alysanne wanted, by the way. She was sent to apprentice with the Silent Sisters just for sleeping with men while not married. Yet Rhaenyra can have 3 obvious bastards, insult the house with the largest naval force and prove to the entire kingdom that her words mean nothing, and Viserys still declares anyone who calls the strong boys bastards would lose their tongue.
Sorry, what? The Valaryons are one of the richest houses in the realm. They control most of the naval fleet. Maybe donât make their son a cuckold?
âThey had an open marriage!â
NO ONE ELSE KNOWS THAT. To the court and the small folk, Rhaenyra promised to be faithful to Laenor in front of the eyes of the gods, and she very obviously didnât keep that vow. Why should they trust anything she says as Queen if she canât even do something as simple as not birthing bastards? Thatâs what most people donât realize in the bastard debate.
Whether you can prove it or not, the strong boys donât look like either of their alleged parents. Like, at all. Even Aegonâs drunk ass could tell shit didnât add up. Commoners are not going to be any different. They are going to know, and whether they can say it or not, it will still affect how they feel towards her. Canât keep your marriage vows, why should I believe that you have my best interest at heart?
Because she doesnât. She is a horrible ruler that lasted less than a year before the small folk rose up and drove her out. She feasted while they starved. Itâs that self centered mentality that taints the bloodline and leads to The Unworthy.
Clearly no one learned about not having bastards, and this mofo decided to legitimize them on his death bed. Wasnât going to be his problem, now was it? He died, someone else has to clean up his mess.
Hmm, not knowing how to clean up your own bastard mess, sounds familiar⊠oh, like Rhaenyra forcing her father to crawl from his death bed to make sure no one said mean (and true) things about her.
So Iâm sorry, what were people saying about her being a good ruler? âCause everywhere I look, I see another reason she should not have ascended the throne.
You really chose to speak factss
when aot was just abt to end, there were leaks ofc as there always are lol abt eren not really achieving any of his plans. and so much of the aot fandom, who have never lived through war, were genuinely upset over this. eren literally commits global genocide, he and his plan doesnât deserve to achieve anything. especially not anything that would benefit him.
eren wasnât one of my favorites until season 4 because of how utterly fucked up he is. he was a tragic MC who started off as a hero and as the story progressed, became a monster. even though we know what leads to his corruption, genocide is still wrong actually and having a characters worst fear come to life due to their own actions is the sort of tragic irony isayama loves. weâve already seen isayama do this with reiner, zeke and grisha. itâs satisfying yet devastating at the same time how harsh the story is on them.
and the story shouldâve been a lot more harsher to eren instead of the positive reaffirmation he got in 139 and from most of the fandom. eren claims the rumbling was for paradis, like thst shit didnât kill off most of paradisâ population, and than he claims that it was for his friends (like pieck, who he has never even had a conversation with) but than he admits it was for himself - and it wasnât satisfying at all because isayama wanted us to feel bad for eren and it worked. never mind the fact that eren killed his own mom, that he manipulated his own father for taking the FT for his own gain, that he annihilated 80% of the world - he did it for his friends đ so itâs okay! friendship >>>> genocide đ
aot taking a very strong stance against erenâs actions and plan, denouncing them as wrong (bc they are) and showing them that nothing good comes out of them is wayyyyyy better the woobification and the mini redemption arc we got from him in the last chapter.
this is why i hate it when aot fans talk abt aot like itâs the greatest anti-war anime ever made. i think majority of aot fans are westerners or come from developed countries. itâs easier to understand war when ur watching cartoons of it instead of actually living through it. a huge part of the fandom justifies erenâs genocide, even with characters explicitly condemning him. do you really think itâs clear with its anti-war message when all we got was a few sad faces and a huge thank you from the main cast? one of the main themes in aot is the moral grayness of the world. the warriors did what they did because they were child soldiers trying to protect their families, EMA wouldâve done the same. the scouts raided liberio (and were heavily against it). and masses of innocent people died in the name of other groups interests. there were literally no winners in this at all.
but why have characters that shouldâve narratively and thematically been against eren suddenly forgive and praise him?
why break all the characterization, break all those different point of views, for the warriors specifically, if not for the final woobification of eren?
eren couldâve had one of the most extraordinary corruption arcs in all of anime just for that to be ruined and i will forever be mad abt it
People know that I love Jaehaera Targaryen and try to keep my mind in positive things about her, just reading headcanons and seeing art of her and Aegon, or her and her brothers and her mother. But I'm tired of even trying to do that, because this fandom is so weird about her, people still come after us at the minimum possibly of her surviving or at the first sight of someone saying they want her to live (the first two screenshots are from a Reddit post in which I shared an art or Jaehaera and Aegon III, that's all)
I'm tired of this "oh to keep her alive would be so cruel with her and Aegon" like they care for her.
Dude, she is just an innocent child, as much as Aegon III. They say "how can you want them married, her father killed his mother". And his father orchestrated the murder of her twin brother who led at the death of her mother. But we all know that that have nothing to do with her.
Both comments are from the same person đ they start like "she wouldn't survive because that would be so cruel" (yeah, it is not cruel killing a 10yo girl) but then they can't stand the possibility of someone liking her and wanting her to live and they talk in the most despicable way about her and how she deserved to be replaced as soon as she died.
Why is it so difficult to accept the fact that the little girl has supporters who want her to live? But they can't, they need to be an asshole for free.
Jaehaera is a child, prone to cry, but happy. Her murder was cruel and unnecessary. It has nothing to do with her being the daughter of his mother's killer or with her being a green.
Even if you doubt of Elio Garcia's words, it has never been stated for George that the reason to kill her was because she, as a green, needed to die.
Like why, what did the little girl to deserve to be minimized? Just to exist and be from the TG.
They really think that everyone is like them, that everyone is going to lose their mind for the possibility of a little child from the other team surviving.
Joffrey's death, even while the dance was still happening, was unnecessarily cruel and of course I won't get mad for the possibility of him surviving. The only criticism I would make about that is that it would be so biased to have 5 kids of the TB surviving and killing all the TG kids. But not because of that I will be like "he NEEDS to die" and will get mad for people wanting him to survive. If that happens it would be fair for me wanting Jaehaera to survive too.
And god, the ableism here is so unhinged.
It is so fucking ironic how they can be like "how can you like a character with two lines" and "she is a r*tarded child and she was never gonna give Aegon III heirs" like decide, she "only has two lines" or you can know everything about her, her mental state and how would have been her life?
And lets start with the cruelty toward her: it is so fucking weird
They want her to suffer like what, what did her to deserve that???
I will add more screenshots but I've reached my limit in this post đ«Ą
They have gone so far as to wish her little brother to be raped and murdered, to mess with the actress who plays Jaehaera (who is a little girl) and to compare her to rats or stray dogs.
People who know me knows that I am on the "separe between fiction and reality" side, but talking like this is too much, getting angry for people not thinking like you because they want her to live and commenting their posts mad because she NEEDS to die is too much, and messing with the actress who plays the girl is too much.
Very well said, this whole blood purity thing is getting out of hand
why you always pretend to not understand what people are telling you in order to flip everything to your liking? đ Viserys has valyrian blood because he is a targaryen, and the only two other house with the same blood is velaryon and celtigar. Alicent's blood descended from the Andals, which is shared with most of the houses of Westeros apart from those three exceptions mentioned. The Valarian minority makes their blood more valuable. If alicent had she been to Valyria, thw situation would have been the same (her having andal blood wound have made her more valuable since she would have been surrounded by valyrian blood). So yes, alicentâs blood is not comparable as viserys as it show in hotd intro, and this isn't necessarily a bad thing like you interpreted
visenya Targaryen married maegor to a hightower. the hightowers are an old and respected house, that has married into the royal family prior to viserys and alicent's marrige.
F&B about the marriage :
"The Hightowers of Oldtown were an ancient and noble family, of impeccable lineage; there could be no possible objection to the kingâs choice of bride."
"there could be no possible objection to the king's choice of bride".
prince aemon - jaehaerys's heir, married a baratheon. rhaenys is also half valyrian. but i don't see anyone talking about that.
you only care that alicent married viserys because you hate her. you only care about the targtowers being half targs because you hate them.
viserys originally planned to marry rhaenyra to a lannister. a non-valyrian. the idea that targs only marry valyrians is ridicules and so out of touch with show and book canon.
no anon, i'm not flipping anything to my liking. you sent me that bs post, didn't get the response you wanted and got mad. sorry, i'm just not into the whole "valyrian blood is superior" thing.
happy house of the dragon day alicent hightower nation we must be strong
Princess Jaehaera Targaryen with her dragon Morghul
Mainly a Hotd blog but I also enjoy talking about Asoiaf and Aot. Book!Alicent and Criston slander is not permitted here. 19
