NASA’s Spitzer Space Telescope celebrated its 12th anniversary with the release of a new digital calendar showcasing some of the best pictures taken by the telescope. The images above demonstrate the Spitzer space telescope’s amazing infrared imaging abilities. These images include Nebulae, Galaxies, Super Nova, and much more. Though the calendar is now outdated, it still has a lot of great science information (and cool images). Check the credit for links!

There is so much humanity has learned from the stars. A few weeks ago I stumbled on a beautiful Navajo creation story that alludes to this.
“When all the stars were ready to be placed in the sky the First Woman said: I will write the laws that are to govern mankind for all time. These laws cannot be written on the water as that is always changing its form, nor can they be written in the sand as the wind would soon erase them, but if they are written in the stars they can be read and remembered forever.” - Navajo creation story quoted in ‘Fire in the Mind: Science, Faith and the Search for Order’ by George Johnson Image: Photographer Jack Fusco recently captured this incredible view of the night sky above the Anza-Borrego Desert in California.

Tell us about your new single ‘Scarlet’
“'Scarlet’ was a combination of many things at the time. The initial idea was easy to get down but completing it and giving it the respect that it deserves was a little more tough, which is possibly the reason it’s my most intricate production to date. For me 'Scarlet’ represents a second wind, a breath of fresh air; the moment you’re reborn and start thinking clearly again.”

“For an art lover, New York is a confusion of riches. In galleries right now you’ll find — along with lots of painting — miniature theaters, an indoor pool, a chairlift, poetry-writing clocks, feature-length films, telepathic emails and an entire library of books that should have been written but weren’t. Keeping track of such variety takes work. @nytimes critics fanned out across the city on a group mission to make sense of all of the options. @jakenaughton photographed the artist @lorenzmarie, right, known for her works on the city’s waterways, lounging poolside at @recessart with 2 former students. “Flow Pool,” an elliptical enclosure you can float in, is a centerpiece for projects and events involving writers, musicians and scientists — and for drop-in “pool parties.” Visit the link in our profile to see our spring gallery guide.” By nytimes on Instagram.
