random but i really like the idea that Ink has certain devices that helps him in warning that he's ruining low of paints. Imagine something akin to a diabetes monitor that tracks his paints level level during the day and night and how it's affect during certain activites (since it's canon that he can stay in the battlefield for too long since his abilities are quite limited)

Y'know. Empathy isn't just feeling another person's pain in your chest and feeling their tears in your eyes.

It's also "dang, that sucks a lot dude." It's also a pat on the shoulder. It's also giving someone a bit of your tasty food. It's also offering to distract them with a game, or some fun conversation. It's also letting them blab on about whatever's going on, being an ear for them. It's also offering solutions when they're ready and willing to hear them.

You don't need to Feel™ to have empathy for someone. You just need to know that something sucks and want them to feel better.

Two fun (separate) ideas for Nightmare that have been festering in my mind for the past bit.

1. Nightmare has every memory of his past self as a child. He firmly believes that the real Nightmare died and that he's just the corruption. Every single day, he questions if having the exact same memories makes him a copy of the same person that never got to grow up. (This could go in either the "nightmare never died" or the "nightmare died, but corrupted nightmare is still valid" type of existential routes. Either way, fun!)

2. Nightmare has DID. The corruption actually did nothing to cause this; it was all the villager's abuse. He only noticed this after the corruption though, and he blames it on that. (Maybe, one day, something causes him to have a third alter, and suddenly the first two are spiraling as they try to figure out what just happened)
