Get yourself a fabric store that will light your fabric on fire for you
No but legit I asked what the fiber content of something was and the guy didn’t know so he cut a chunk off and lit it on fire and felt the ashes and was like. Yeah this is mostly cotton with a lil bit of silk. And that was the moment I knew. This is it. This is the fabric store for me. Also that guy is marriage material. Not for me but damn some person is gonna be so happy with him.
btw "fiction affects reality" is such a nuanced argument on both sides, because it both does and doesn't. it can change your perspective on a situation, introduce you to new ideals, and even provide a conduit for propaganda (call of duty comes to mind). brains are sponges, and we subconsciously internalize things from fiction all the time without even realizing it.
but it won't REPLACE reality, which is where a lot of people are coming from when they argue against this statement. reading a book romanticizing abuse will not replace your moral compass so you want to start abusing people, the same way listening to metal wont make u sacrifice someone to satan (the 1980s satanic panic anyone???), the same way playing gta wont turn you into a mass murderer (the 2000s video game controversies anyone????).
where the nuance REALLY shines are extenuating factors: mental illness, age, brain disorders, etc can affect how you percieve fiction, and whether you have the ability of discernment.
so yeah, tldr; if u commit horrible acts after reading fanfic, either you already wanted to do those things, or you aren't able to discern fiction from reality.
Okay I JUST realized I never posted these on here—- BUT BASICALLY, about a year and a half ago I started doing these experimental black hairstyle posts that were threads long on Twitter, to give artists a source of inspo for their black ocs whose hair they wanted to try something new with! There’s more to black hair than just the selected styles portrayed in media, and I thought it would be fun to show people how much texture, shape, fades, length, and style can be combined when drawing black hair—-cause it’s a kind of manipulation our hair can do irl! The OG posts were lost with the hacking of my original Twitter account (@/bagels_donuts) but I’ve since reuploaded the whole thread to my new Twitter (@/ItsDonutsFR)! I hope artists on tumblr find these useful, sorry it took me so long to post them here😭🙏🏾 I’ll upload them all in parts!
Part 1: Long masc hairstyles + playing with fades
essentially all I’m saying is that you need to be less afraid of being a pervert. You have to train and practice the pervert muscles in your heart so they can grow strong. Literally everyone is a pervert about certain things and many people still think they’re perverts for chill regular things like being gay because their upbringing has left them with atrophied senses of sex. We solve both of these problems at once by encouraging burgeoning pervertedness at every step of the way and ensuring people do not feel like they have to hide it under lip service to norms
Harry Potter fans aren’t bullied nearly enough. Yes that includes Marauder fans.
Man wouldn’t it be crazy if I ran away and started posting on a secret blog
